Invisible Hands

Imperial Space - Outer Rim
[member="Laguz Vald"]

Kiran sat in the command throne of The Ardent a small Aurel-Class Assault Frigate that was currently bounding it's way through the outer reaches of Imperial space. His fingers were fidgeting slightly, his eyes locked on the screen in front of him.

A bit of drool dripped from his lips, though whether it was because of the numbers he was currently seeing on the screen or because he was getting up there in years was difficult to tell. The Zeltron patted his chest slightly, making sure that his heart was still ticking properly, then he slowly glanced down at his lap. "Yeah that's about right."

Kiran said to himself as he refocused himself.

"Okay." The Mercenary Captain said. "Well..."

That was more money that he'd ever seen offered for a single bounty in his life. When Saeva had taken on the contract from Lord Mepherium to aid in his coup they had received a healthy sum, but this? Well this was ludicrous. Enough to fill several hundred swimming pools with Aurodium, enough to purchase all the prostitutes on Zeltr-well maybe not all of them, but a pretty big chunk. He frowned for just a moment.

Saeva had toppled governments before, they'd taken on fleets, even killed a dozen or so Sith Lords, but this seemed a different sort of game.

In truth he wasn't exactly sure what this 'Empire of Hand' even was. The Bounty posting didn't give much information aside from the name of it's leader and a few other aspects, but that wasn't much to go on. A fleet was mentioned, though that hardly concerned him. He frowned for a few moments then glanced at one of the few crew members aboard the ship. As if reading his mind the Twi'lek soldier simply shrugged his shoulders. Kiran waved to him. "Get me Laguz."

They needed to do some investigating before they could strike.

Get me Laguz, he says.”

“How ‘bout you call me sometime when we don’t have a job, huh?”

With eyebrows quite literally halfway up her forehead, a stunning redhead strode in two minutes later. From head to toe, a sculpted perfection of curves and planes, with a face adhering to the golden ratio down to a millimeter. A short black number simply upgraded her from ‘drop-dead natural beauty’ to ‘drop-dead, smoking hot, leave-a-zeltron-for-this beauty’.

With a huff, the irate woman deposited a comically disproportionate plastic case on the floor. It settled with the ominous thud of death and recoil.

“Friendly drinks, Kiran?” She marched over to the mercenary in the command throne, each stride punctuated by the crack of a stiletto heel. “Ever heard of those?”

Then she leaned over his shoulder, saw the holodisplay, and assumed much the same expression.

“Well, feth,” the assassin said at length, green eyes still glazed over with zeroes. “Forget the drinks, start the hyperdrive.”

“We’ve got ourselves a Handjob.”

He smiled slightly, though drummed his fingers slowly along the edge of his armrest.

Something like this wasn't as simple as it was made out to be. They had no idea where these people were, who they were, or what they wanted. Motivation was often the most important thing. A contract like this could cost millions to carry out, though of course the result would be well worth it. His lips thinned for a moment, his gaze falling over towards the communications array in the corner of the room. Before they went anywhere they needed more information.

That would just be the start. "Contact the Empire."

He waved towards one of the Saeva Guards on the bridge.

Kiran knew that this wasn't as easy as just shooting a few people. They were headed into this with the intention of destroying what was essentially an entire government. He wasn't entirely sure what the Empire of Hand was, nor what all it had taken with when they split from The Empire. If they could get that information it was at least a starting point.

In order to acquire that information Kiran sent a message to the Empire itself, a simple missive from Saeva Incorporate.

Perhaps [member="Tanomas Graf"] would be informed, Saeva was a well known corporation in the galaxy, particularly when it came to tasks of extra-judicial enforcement.

Anyone, bounty hunter or not, would've seen the large bounty that the Empire had placed on a particular being. One that Vilaz had wish to hunt down and make him pay. This time he didn't really care for the money. This was something personal and the only payment he wished to see was to make this fugitive of the Galactic Empire bleed and break for what he had done.

Would this solve any tensions between the Mandalorians and the Empire? He didn't know, but his main goal was to get his hands on this person of interest.

A transmission would be sent to [member="Tanomas Graf"] or to whoever received the Grand Moff's invoices under Vilaz's name. That would surely make his message a much more important one to be addressed rather than being on the bottom of the pile with all the rest of the unimportant messages the Imperial received daily.
