Private Into the Rabbit's Hole

Angonous could sense the conflict churning inside Rowena, he wasn't entirely sure what was it about but he was certain it was about this strange feeling between them. "Unlikely!" Angonous yelled leaping towards the group of Rakghouls slicing taking one down with a vertical slash while using the force to slam his feet on to the floor pushing the rest back. "There seems to be many Rakghouls underground and besides they're first concern should be us or any of the survivors!" Mustering up all of his hatred Angonous rose his Lightsaber over his head and severed a charging Rakghoul in half with passion. The more conflict that Angonous endures the more he can draw upon his rage.

The Sith Lord sensed a disturbance in the force as three more human infected Rakghouls burst through the wall to Rowena's left. Their tattered yet expensive looking clothing suggested that they were the people infected. They screamed at the two of them charging with ferocity, Angonous leapt back to Rowena's position before they shielding her. "How many of these things are there?!" Angonous growled hurling his Lightsaber towards one of them the blade slicing their chest causing them to fall down.

This entire situation was frustrating, moreso as it was well out of her area of expertise. All of her ideas were being shot down, yet it wasn't his fault. They probably weren't good ones.

More and more Rakghouls were approaching and attacking them, causing Rowena to want to cling to Darth Angonous Darth Angonous , however he needed freedom of movement to fight.

"We need to get out of here. One of these buildings has to be the security building. So let's go find it!" Even if they had to hop from building to building, it would be there. That or the authorities could direct them to the right place.

The Rakghouls were attempting to encircle both Angonous and Rowena however Agnonous discouraged it by launching Force Lightning towards any stragglers preventing them from trying to get in formation. "We can't just go wandering aimlessly with all these Rakghouls!" Angonous muttered to Rowena trying to think of a way that they could locate the security building.

"Wait," The Sith Lord's gaze went to the Holoterminal that Rowena used to submit the video to the authorities. "Rowena go back and access the terminal ask search for the location of the Security room!"

It wasn't a well thought out plan but It was better than the alternative. Giving Rowena space to run to the terminal, Angonous reached into his well of emotions launching three Rakghouls on Rowena's flank. "Go!" Angonous said as the Rakghouls began their assault on him.

Rowena was out of her element here and Darth Angonous Darth Angonous was easily pointing that out. Her ability to maintain her composure was slipping due to her frustrations, and not to mention because of the continued onslaught of the Rakghouls. She was not built or skilled in war.

"Okay!" The frustration in her voice was easily heard as she moved through the debris-laden floor as quickly as her heeled shoes would let her to the holoterminal. She punched in the search for the security building, as well as a map. It took a few seconds for it to load, but she found it. "I see it! Two buildings over."

Now they just had to get there.

Angonous could feel Rowena's anger due to being out of her depth here, normally Angonous would encourage the person to give in to their emotions and let it fuel you. With Rowena though, Angonous feared that the most Rowena can muster up is just frowny faces at the enemy. Years of composure had give Rowena habits that were hard to break. The Sith Lord to hack away at the Rakghouls while Rowena logged back into the Holoterminal taking only half a second to locate the Security building.

"Two buildings over got it!" Angonous said through clenched teeth as he took out another Rakghoul with vertical slash across the chest. The remaining two Rakghouls leapt at Angonous but he subdued them with force lightning while they were in midair killing them instantly. Angonous sighed deactivating his Lighsaber while he observed his carnage. It was good to be immersed in his rage again and to engage in conflict. However he could do without Rowena being danger.

"Thank you Rowena," he walked towards her and placed his hand on her cheek. "You were a big help."

She watched as Darth Angonous Darth Angonous went after what she hoped would be the last of the Rakghouls. But knowing her luck this day, that wouldn't be the case.

He approached her then, thanking her for what little she had done and....placed his hand on her cheek. It was warm and surprisingly soft. Her eyebrows lifted while she looked at him, as she was taken aback and for a few seconds she was speechless. "I....haven't done much..." Rowena took hold of his hand and removed it gently from her face. "We still need to get out of here. Remember? Let's...get outside and hurry."

She didn't take the lead this time, for she had nothingto save her from being attacked by those monsters. That's what Angonous was for. He was her shield.

"You did," Angonous said smiling a bit. "You may not think it's much but not only that you managed to find the location of the Security building but you also alerted the authorities about the Rakghouls attacking the resort. Rowena my Lightsaber can only do so much, the information you have sent could save this planet."

It was true, as powerful as Angonous was he was only one man against a colony of Rakghouls. Sooner or later they would overwhelm and either kill or infect them. Rowena's actions could possibly contain the virus and stop millions more from dying. "I haven't forgotten," The Sith Lord said starting to walk. "Let's go and stick close to me." Angonous and Rowena entered the courtyard where it was just as a mess as the the living quarters. The gardens were destroyed and there a strewn of bloodied corpses all over.

"Hopefully when security arrives they bring flammable weapons to burn these bodies," Angonous said. "Every one of them carries the virus." As they continued to walk, there was another tremor this time stronger. The Sith Lord maintained his balance hearing the many screams of the Rakghouls from a far.

"It sounds like they're rallying to something," Angonous said taking out his Lightsaber. "But what?"

Rowena was no hero. She was a politician. Heroes were brave warriors; something that she would never be. Darth Angonous Darth Angonous could have easily done what she did. All that he needed was a few minutes, which he surely would have gotten after killing enough of the Rakghouls.

As instructed, she followed behind Angonous, eager to get out of that building. Yet outside wasn't much better. Why didn't they see this when they had first arrived? Or smell it? Yet it wasn't anything that Rowena could pick up on anyways. She wasn't used to this.

As the ground shook once more, she grabbed hold of his arm, using Angonous as her source of stability. "I don't know. Nor do I want to stick around to find out. Let's keep moving, Ang, please."

Angonous gave a curt nod when Rowena clung to his arm. "Of course," he said seeing the first building ahead. "Let's keep moving." As they continued to walk through the valley of corpses, Angonous continued to dart around alert for any threats that could be coming their way yet strangely it was quiet. Only a yellow fog permeated the area accompanied by the roars of the Rakghouls from afar.

"It's interesting that the Rakghouls aren't feasting," he muttered sensing a disturbance. "It seems that they're heading somewhere important."

"I don't know anything about them to know what's normal or not." Rowena clung to Darth Angonous Darth Angonous all the more, her eyes darting around as well, while she did her best to try to maintain her proper composure. The noises of the Rakghouls didn't make it easy for her to though.

The first building was in sight, and the second was sure to be not far off from there. "What is that?" With her free hand she pointed ahead of them at the strangely coloured fog. Hopefully it wasn't some kind of gas. Yet maybe it was coming from the outside and meant to help them? That was Rowena's hope anyways.

"To predators like Rakghouls these corpses are practically a buffet," Angonous said looking over the many corpses. "Yet they leave them here, still with all these corpses it seems like the people of the resort were running to somewhere as though they were being evacuated." Angonous frowned. "But why towards and not through the exit?" he mused. "Was it possible that they were trying to contain the infection?"

Rowena asked about the yellow fog that was permeating the land. "Rakghoul spores," he answered. "Don't worry they're harmless the Rakghouls just do it to mark their territory."

Just then there was a sign that was covered in blood but Angonous could make it out the words. "A spaceport?" he said. "Here in a resort? That must be something new. I've never heard of this placing have a spaceport. That's probably why the people ran here so they can go into space and not try to infect the others at the casino."

"I don't know anything about them to hazzard a guess as to the motives of monsters. Yet how could the people try to contain anything when the shield wasn't activated until after we arrived?" Rowena was no investigator, but the whole situation that they were in was messed up.

Darth Angonous Darth Angonous mentioned a spaceport. That could be helpful. Most ships had weapons that could obliterate the Rakghouls, didn't they? "I'm no pilot. We should get to the security building and get that shield down so we can get out. The authorities can handle the rest."

"I'm not sure," Angonous mumbled. "This looked like a last minute effort to escape," he said. "Maybe it was to evacuate the people first and then activate the ray shield?" Then why wasn't the Ray Shield activated when Angonous and Rowena arrived? There were so many questions and each answer that they found was more and more disturbing. Whatever the case, Angonous' top priority was getting Rowena out of here, he'll inform the Sith Empire of what transpired and perhaps they would be interested in samples.

"Rowena," Angonous said. "Did the map say anything about a spaceport nearby?" They approached a sign covered in blood and claw marks that read: Spaceport ahead. "I'm just wondering," Angonous breathed if there was a spaceport nearby then things would be a lot difficult.

"I don't know. Did you want to go back and look? I just did a search for the security building. I wasn't looking for anything else." They were in a rush afterall, and Darth Angonous Darth Angonous had been busy fighting at the time.

Rowena urged him forward. "What good is a spaceport anyways if we can't get the shield down?" And what if they couldn't get it down? They could starve to death if the Rakghouls didn't kill them first...

But no. She was made of tougher stuff than this. This was not how she was going to die.

"No," Angonous said sensing a disturbance. "It's not about the spaceport it self it's something more. If the majority of people ran to the spaceport than that means....."

Another roar came from the direction they were headed. Causing Angonous to frown. "We're going to have to find another way to the Security building," Angonous said gently pulling Rowena to the left away from the first building. "We can't go through that path."

Rowena furrowed her brows briefly in confusion. She was way out of her depth, so her guesses were fruitless. "So...what? Do we just go around?"

The roar itself was disturbing and caused her to jump a little, but she didn't cower. She let herself be afraid fot five seconds a little while back and that was all that she was going to allow.

Darth Angonous Darth Angonous pulled her to the left a little and so she followed along. Nodoubt the authorities were already there; trying to figure out how to get the shield down from the outside.

Angonous looked around the gas filled area, he was thankful the gas that the Rakghouls use to mark their territory is not poisonous but even he had to admit the gas makes feel unease. "We have to," Angonous replied allowing Rowena to cling on to his arm. "If my guess is correct then, the Rakghouls are likely using the spacesport as their nest."

Another roar echoed through the area as Angonous pulled Rowena closer. "Right now we have to scout the area," he said memories of training in the jungles of Drummond Kaas starting to resurface. "We have to make sure where the bulk of the Rakghouls are before we can determine a route to the security building."

He sensed a disturbance in the force this entire resort was a wound in the force but it was telling Angonous that there was something bigger lurking here.

"Aren't they mostly underground?" That's what it seemed like, anyways. But Rowena didn't know anything about Rakghouls to make any kind of determination as to what they were about.

She kept close to Darth Angonous Darth Angonous , even as he pulled her to him more. Rowena wasn't bothered by the closeness. She appreciated it. Angonous was her human shield against the monsters that were ahead of them. And it was quite unfortunate that they were stuck within a dome of sorts, unable to escape.

That is until they get to that security building. "It's not that far. The space port might be keeping them busy. And if we're lucky, there are other survivors as well."

"They are," Angonous said. "But the resort is a good foothold for when they spread the plague." The Rakghouls were merciless and the Sith have had to fight them off for generations. Even today, the Rakghouls remained a threat even after there were vaccines to deal with the virus. The Rakghouls were like the undead, just when you thought you killed them, they rise again stronger and deadlier.

The two of them entered the small forest as Angonous bent down near the bushes trying to remain hidden from any Rakghoul ambushes. He could still smell the soil beneath his shoes, the mist has yet to reach the forest. It was possible that they didn't expand here yet. "I want to see what's going on in the spaceport," Angonous whispered kneeling through the bushes. "Stay close Lady Rowena and stay alert. They could be watching us."

Well if the resort was going to be a foothold for the Rakghouls, then according to Rowena, the place should be bombarded with an airstrike.

Maybe that's what the people were trying to do when getting to the space port.

As Darth Angonous Darth Angonous led her to the forest and knelt down, Rowena just watched him. She wasn't going to be kneeling in the dirt. She was wearing white! So she made no attempt to copy him. Instead she tucked herself behind a tree. "Don't tell me that you're going to go inside there and leave me here...."
