Into the depth

The tunnels were cold. He was far under ground by now.
image.jpg
Mantic had touched down on the old mine about an hour ago and left the ship outside the main entrance. He had ventured to the main control room of the facility and there discovered the maps of the mining tunnels leading further inside. While the mine was no longer operational the rumors about the precious crystals had surfaced and resurfaced so many times that he could not ignore the possibility any longer.

If there were some of the lorrdian crystals to be found here Mantic was going to bring them back to the jedi order. The war had caused much strain on both himself and many of his jedi brothers and sisters. This would be good to be able to provide more jedi with.

With only reserve energy operating in the abandoned tunnels the jedi was making a slow but steady journey down the depth to the facilities storage room. It would be most likely to find any of those crystals in there.

So far everything had gone smoothly. He had avoided using any of the lifts due to the risks of power shortage and so as the final emergency door opened up with a metalic and protesting groan he knew he had arrived on the same level as the storage room. Carefully he kept moving forward. He sensed no life anywhere, but that did not mean there was none. A catch like this surely must draw the attention of others as well...

Bandwagoning once more.

Not the stereotypical sort, but the literal sort. Heol had snuck onto another ship, after hearing something interesting on the roads.

Lorrdian Gemstones! Excellent power-ups for lightsabers. Rare, possibly. An old Jedi had been talking about it, however, Heol did not wish to converse with the Republic knight. He still remembered memories about the injust judgement they delivered to him. Heol was not yet, comfortable in any way.

Licking his lips, he carefully imagined what sort of planet he would have to explore to discover these rare Gemstones. Inable to fathom everything he could do with those stones, he decided he would wait until his hands were touching the crystal's soft surface.

Turning, he noticed the old Jedi was already on his way to the port. Carefully sneaking about, he was glad his Force and aura was easily concealed. It was not common that any Jedi or Sith could discover him, count alone the 'Dark Jedi'.

He tried to cover his small mouth from laughing. 'Dark' Jedi. It was a joke to him, Jedi that used the dark side of the Force. Such undecisive people.

Just pick a side, he muttered.

Continuing his trailing, he began swiping from the crowd for the mere fun. It was his daily dose of mischief.

Pocketing all the jewellery and valuables he picked, he raised a candy bar he took from a royal. A 'Delboro's Treasure'. Looking at it with a slight grin, he tear open the wrapper, and took a bit into the supremely expensive chocolate. It was worth 80 credits for a single bar!

Well, there is no fun in selling such high quality goods. Especially a sweet.

The Jedi reached the hangar. Nearly half an hour had passed, each and every minute being entertaining for Heol. Such rare quality jewellery. He easily sold them quickly for a few credits, a waste of money perhaps, but he was forced to make haste.

Sneaking into the sleek ship that the old Jedi entered, he slid into the storage department quickly. It would take a while for him to realize it would take quite a long time, a torturous thirteen hours to reach their next planet.

The ship had finally landed. Heol, awake for the full thirteen hours, was snooping around the storage room with stealth. Rummaging through the storage was rude, but it was part of his daily routine.

Finding nothing interesting, he left the ship, only to discover the Jedi had already left.

Suddenly, a droid appeared in front of Heol. Surprised by the intrusion, the droid immediately activated his alarm. In a quick motion, Heol deheaded the droid, and muffled it's fall. He had hoped the Jedi was already far through the planet, that he did not hear it.

Exiting through the backdoor of the ship, he looked forward, only to notice a dark, creepy mine. Abandoned.

Sitting on his command throne on the bridge of The Doppelgangers Lament, a large hologram of the galaxy shimmering softly before him. The bridge crew worked unbidden with normal functions that accompanied every day, Captain Pelarious stood in the middle of the hologram as he worked on the captains station. Next to the throne were two large Tuk'ata, the male was larger and he seemed stare over the crew with a watchful eye, the female was gnawing on a bone in her own docile little machinations of spending her time.
On the throne Erebos had a datapad on his lap that had several different crystals and their functions for lightsabers programmed into it. He studied the different locations on the map and correlated them with the locations known on the datapads crystals. This had been the standard procedure for the passed day or two as the Lament drifted through open space with it's stealth functions on at full power, keeping the ship undetected as it lazily drifted through space.
"My Lord." Captain Pelarious finally spoke up, having tired of the silence of the passed few hours which was only permeated with the soft humming chime of the continuous hologram. "Have you come to a decision yet? I know these Lightsabers are important to you force users but this is taking up valuale time both from normal operations as well as from you running your own company and training." The Grizzled old veteran had a husky voice and was somehow always able to make it boom at just the right time to either sooth or invigorate the crew, a trait Erebos found most endearing to the man. However his gross lack of any concrete knowledge of force users also irritated Erebos to no end.
"Captian" Erebos began, his voice deep and distorted through his faceless mask. "I am choosing something that will further my own power and knowledge so unless you have found a location yourself please stay quiet." The irritation of the inhuman voice emanating from the mask sent a shiver down a few of the crew members spines but not the captains, he was used to it by now. With a slow and deliberate gesture of his hand he pointed at a small dot above his throne and it lit up with text scrolling down it with the systems information for the planetary system.
The text that was readable to the captain was "Kanz sector in the Outer Rim territories" He nodded and then began to order the crew about as the hologram dissipated. "Prepare for jump!" He shouted and the navigational section was busy at work to calculate the course they'd need to take. Within fifteen minutes the Doppelgangers lament shot out into space and disappeared from normal space as if it had been sucked into a powerful vacuum.

The dampness was pretty much the worst thing about this trip. It was cold and moisty. It made the passageways through the mine slippery and despite being a trained jedi here and there he had to focus not to end up on his butt as he went deeper and deeper into the facility.

It was empty and abandoned yet since he had begun descending something poked his mind. There was something that resembled a prescence here. Everytime he turned, everytime he reached out however he felt nothing.

The spooky sensation dissapeared once he kept moving and after a good climb down he had finally reached the central storage room . Its huge double doors stood locked and still.

"Right..." he mumbled to himself and lit his saber.
Thrusting it forward into the grand doorway he slowly started to carve his way into the complex behind.

[member="Heol Wraith"] [member="Darth Erebos"]

The sparks flew off to the right and left as Mantic focused on the beam of his saber. The door was a thick metallic one that would not yield without a fight.
A pearl of sweat formed itself on the jedi's fore head as he struggled with concentration in the damp and rather unhealthy environment he found himself in.

QuiGonDoorCut.jpg
Using his physical strength Mantic then pressed forth his saber in the middle of the door, focusing his mind on separating the double doors in different directions.
It took a moment before the seal finally gave in accompanied with a soft brush of air escaping the slid that was being created.
Taking a moment to breath Mantic unlit his saber and enjoyed the reinforcement of new air being punped out into the corridor. He could still not put his finger on the tingling sensation of him not being alone in here but he never the less trusted that if there was a danger it would not be imminent. And so he took a step inside the storage facility.

It was a very large room with several sky-bridges and stair ways climbing the natural cold stone walls. Everything was on emergency energy with only a dim red light pulsating through the area. the back up system must be focused on cleaning the air and holding a temperature that allowed life, Mantic figured. Here and there laid scattered and broken crates. Most empty but he somehow felt that what he was looking for must be in here somewhere...
He wrapped his robe around him and began walking.

The force would guide him if he only allowed it.

[member="Darth Erebos"] [member="Heol Wraith"]

Out from the background of black space, with the pin pricks of stars breaking through, the doppelgangers Lament seemed to break through and into reality as it came to halt in orbit over Kanz. As soon as the ship had broken from hyperspace a shuttle had been prepared for Erebos to board and take down to the surface. For company he had both of his Tuk'ata which growled and barked in excitement over finally accompanying their master down to a planet after being left behind so often in the past.
"Khanath, Dylsia relax I want you two to find a crystal in the mine we are going into if there are enemies I deem you can't handle stay out of my way." He said to them which made the male and larger of the two whine a little in disappointment over the whole thing but with a promise of a steak after the mission was done he livened up.
With a snap and angry hiss of the Atmospheric thrusters scorching the ground the shuttles bay door opened and out walked the sith knight, flanked on either side by his large Tuk'ata which reached nearly to his upper chest area with their height. Into the mine he walked and explored it a little, but his sight in the force soon became aware of two distinct "footprints" in the force of two different force users, one distinctly stronger than the other.

[member="Mantic Dorn"] [member="Heol Wraith"]

The climb was not without perils as Mantic made his way up on the old and slippery sky bridges around. The force guided his steps but gravity still reminded him of what was the greatest force in the end.

Having reached a large round platform the jedi bent down over a crate. He sensed something and smiled to himself. The journey had not been waste of time. Stroking the top of the crate the seal broke open and it opened up.
The bag with a crystal inside almost beckoning him. He reached down and grabbed it.

Then he froze. Something was wrong...

The presence he had felt before was being overshadowed by another one. A much more potent... and dark presence.

[member="Darth Erebos"] [member="Heol Wraith"]

The deeper he moved into the cavern the more he began to sense the other two though one was particularly well hidden from him. It didn't take long for the Tuk'ata to sniff the ground and begin to growl a little as they reached a large door leading into a store room. The clear sign of a lightsaber having been used to open the doors made Erebos curious as he walked inside the room. Inside he could see that there were several crystals scattered about with their low resonance in the force making them appear as small, faint lights to his eyes but then there was the other presence an unmistakable one belonging to a jedi.
He didn't move his head to look at [member="Mantic Dorn"]'s position but he noted were he was as he kept walking inside the room. "Khanath, Dylsia find me a crystal." He said as he pointed deeper into the storeroom and the two Tuk'ata bounded down towards were he had pointed. Moving to a box he waved his hand and the lid flew off it revealing the ingots inside, picking up one he looked it over in his hand and then placed it into a small pouch at the back right half of his belt. Erebos wondered what it was that the natives had been mining and if he could use it himself and even though he seemed to be ignoring the jedi presence he in fact wasn't he was just keeping it's location in his mind while he searched for the other one.

[member="Heol Wraith"]

[media]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ASj81daun5Q[/media]
Mantic placed the crystals in his satchel and strapped it good on his side to allow free moving. He sensed [member="Darth Erebos"] and was preparing for the worst.
Standing up he got a good bird view of the room. There were several ramps and elevated bridges across the room and here and there sky-bridges clung to the walls.
Many of them were old and weathered with rust and damp but still operating as support for both mining carts and heavy crates.
The dark sith who had entered dispatched his beasts and as they growled and sniffed for whatever it was they were looking for Mantic sensed them part of the darkness that their master held.
perso_thon_1.jpg
Mantic placed himself on the edge of the platform, in full view.
There was no telling if the sith was here to hunt him, or for other reasons. Regardless it was likely that what was to come would not be pleasant. He had neglected the eerie feeling that had pursued him into the depth and here was the result that he had to pay for his negligence.
There was no doubt that the sith knight had sensed him easily, and what Mantic knew of Tuk'atas they were most likely fully aware as well. Sneaking was not Mantics strong side regardless and he saw no point in trying. But the expected attack from [member="Darth Erebos"] or his hounds did not arrive quickly though. Quirking a brow Mantic tried to keep track of all three in the large underground warehouse. He would most likely have to fend them off in different directions if it came to that.
"There is nothing here for you sith." he declared and gathered himself to empower his own movement with the force.
He jumped up and forward, turning in mid air before hitting the ground a few meters away from [member="Darth Erebos"]
Star_Wars_Force_Unleashed_Jedi_Robes_01.jpg
"Turn back."
This was a sith, an enemy in a war that held many deaths, most likely on both accounts. The sith was problably here to claim the crystals that he himself had sought. Crystals that in the wrong hands would cause allot of damage.
Mantic was however at a disadvantage with the two beasts roaming freely and it was a strategic offering, to avoid being forced into a struggle that held such dangers.
The lightsaber flew to his hand regardless as he prepared himself for the worst.
[member="Heol Wraith"]

Erebos had been waiting to see what the jedi would do, in fact the first real jedi he had ever encountered. When [member="Mantic Dorn"] jumped down and declared his intentions, Erebos seemed to visibly sigh. 'Well seems there isn't a way to converse about this.' He thought as he looked over Mantic and then stood off the crate. "If you wish.." He muttered as he brought his hand up and then snapped his fingers as his gross guarded lightsaber floated into his hand.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YzbJMCSfcPY
Underneath Mantic a surge of red force lightning erupted from the ground under him. While this happened Erebos turned his lightsaber on and rushed at Mantic in a Shiicho opening attack. If this jedi won't be civil and just allow him to have a crystal for himself then he'd make sure the jedi would think twice about engaging a sith again. His saber came down in an overhead slash aimed at going down in a diagonal slash down his chest.

[member="Heol Wraith"]

The sith was almost totally corrupted. His path to the dark side almost complete. Mantic still sensed som sort of conflict in him and for a moment he thought that [member="Darth Erebos"] would investigate non-hostile options.
But his thoughts only brought him off balance as red lightning erupted around his feet hissing and crackling like red vipers around him.

He jolted in surprise and even though the effect was to a degree hindered by his armor, allowing him to push away much of its lethal power he was chocked enough and for the moment pinned to the spot.
Then the heavy blow followed suit. Mantic had fought sith with various weapons before, but this saber introduced something new. It was larger and heavier and the strike felt more like a sledge hammer then the swifter touch of most sabers he had known.
He pressed his saber upward to block the menacing attack

Their sabers clashed in a wild fury of red and green.
JediSithSides.jpg

Only with an effort did Mantic manage to hold the pressured attack back. He gritted hs teeth and with the sith focusing on his saber attack the lightning lost some of its hold over Mantic and he drew his left foot back in a half circle, dodging low to let [member="Darth Erebos"] weapon continue its intended course albeit only cutting air as the jedi spun around and pressed his own attack in a swift ataru attack.

With the power of force valor he was allowed extreme speed and power as he never stopped moving. Coming from a crouched position he finished his spin and rose, then delivering a raised attack with his weapon drawing an X starting from the upper left down to the lower right and then from the lower left to the upper right.
These attacks were lighter, meant to disorient his opponent and possibly carve into his armor should the strikes reach its intended goal.

As Erebos's strike went through he held his strength downwards against the jedi before his concentration wavered and his sith barrage stopped coming from the ground. The jedi took that chance and turned the sweep into something that made his own slash simply sweep through the air. 'Oh he's good.' Erebos thought as he saw [member="Mantic Dorn"] turn on the ground swinging his saber at him which he could easily block but it dawned on him that it was a feint.
'And fast' Erebos moved a step back as Mantic moved onto his real attack bringing his saber to block the attack coming from bellow but he had to use the gross guard to block the upper one. He gritted his teeth under his mask as the strength was something he wasn't expecting at all. Whatever ability the human Mantic was using to increase his speed, strength and accuracy so much, Erebos wanted it. "Back off!" He shouted as he used a force repulse to get Mantic to back off, to give Erebos time to think, room to breathe.
He brought one hand up in front of him in a near gripping gesture as the air around began to grow hotter and hotter. "Burn!" He then said his tone no longer as angry as when he shouted this time it was like ice as suddenly out of the very air around him two Tuk'ata formed out of pure flames. Their snarls were the crackling of fire, their eyes, claws and teeth were the burning of bright blue plasma and their hide the wisps of smoke rising from their backs. As one advanced on Metric the other howled out in a freakish crackling roar as it then advanced with it's sibling.
1237829808_hell_hound_by_daveallsop.jpg
This was all to give Erebos time, time to prepare and to concentrate though half his concentration was now going into maintaining the fire beasts he'd just conjured up to attack Mantic with. 'I hope this jedi hasn't faced anything like this before, because if he has I'm in it deep this time.' He thought as he used the other half of his concentration into gathering the force into his body, letting it seep into his muscles, into the fibers of his very being. For some reason Erebos felt at peace, serene even, when he did this. Focusing his cold rage into himself as a lens to fuel the force through helped.

Heol watched.

It was strange. He didn't act too much, neither did he move often. Yet, he did detect the aura of both the Sith and Jedi, as soon as he was close. At least, he believed the two were distant. Heol could not tell which side was which, and never was able to. Noticing a package suddenly dropping down, he noticed it was his global delivery. A small droid had been carrying the package, and looked somewhat beat up. The system had finally sent it to him.

Reaching up, he took out a curved-hilt lightsaber. Activating it, a red spark flashed and suddenly, a dark synthetic red blade extended. Grinning at the cool, thin blade, he licked his lips. Grabbing another package, he opened what revealed to be a guard shoto. Taking out the unique, and abnormal weapon, he turned it on in order to extend strangely, a green saber. It was not an awkward combination, however these blades signified his past.

Finally. That took a while, he said. Heol was glad. The wait was over.

Approaching the elevator, he dropped down. Using a bit of his force, he attempted to cushion his landing. He failed.

Miserably.

Groaning at the pain his back felt, he got up in one piece. It wasn't too long of a drop, Heol had felt worse. His bone structures definitely needed a check-up, sooner or later.

It had been nearly ten minutes, walking into this old mine. He could notice burn marks around the walls, a pathway cut open through a blast door, and many other signs that Jedi or Sith were here. Pushing his head underneath the cut, he turned to notice what seemed to be electricity. Red, electricity. Roars, cries, and flashes could be heard. Surprised in the conflict, he quickly had to decide. Whether it be the Jedi's side, or the Sith's side, he would join.

[member="Mantic Dorn"]

Mantic felt the familiar movement as he started to press his opponent back in a flurry of strikes. The sith was capable but seemed to lack Mantics skill with the saber. Mantic, trained since before he could remember in the arts of war, was molded into a jedi fighting machine. A product of a lifetime practicing and preparing to be a symbol of hope and shield of light had made him hard to best with saber in hand.
giphy.gif

Seperating his mind from emotions he kept striking, slashing and thrusting to end the evil that was [member="Darth Erebos"]

While his opponent was holding his ground Mantic felt that victory could be swift as long as the sith was not allowed time to deliver any tricks that so often had been the case in the past.

With his flurry going Mantic felt little issues with leaping back into the fight after the dark ones force push.
But then something very unexpected happened.
The fiery demons appeared and with a tremendous roar began to approach Mantic.

mantic had faced sith illusions, vong creatures and many strange beasts in the past but this was something new. What foul and dark powers had this man found.
Gasping the jedi backed off, turning his saber around his wrist while reassessing the situation.
How does one fight fire?

His decision was quick to change his stance into that of Soresu and as the first monster leaped for his throat Mantic pulled his saber up with him trying to cut the fire demon as he himself performed a high flip backward, landing on the platform he had left before engaging the sith.

From the platform a good four meter up he tried to check if the beast he had struck had taken any damage by his saber or if it seemed unharmed as he reached out with the force sensing the other two beasts stalking the room. He had to be certain that they would not attack him from the shadows. Naturally his main focus was on [member="Darth Erebos"] and his minions.
Thus he missed the fact that [member="Heol Wraith"] had entered the room...

The fire beast that Mantic sliced at and smoke filled what seemed to be a wound in it's cheek from the slash. Now however both fire beasts growled and advanced on him, vicious plasma claws trying to rend at him, glowing teeth trying to bite him and hate filled eyes staring him down. Meanwhile it seemed that Erebos was meditating as he had sat down with his saber firmly on his lap as he focused the force into himself and controlled the beasts, not paying attention to the other presance he could almost make out in his sight in the force.
[member="Heol Wraith"]'s force stealth was good but far to incomplete to hide fully from someone who saw through the force itself, that is if he was looking in the first place which he wasn't. Erebos allowed the beasts to follow after Mantic up onto the platform to continue to attack him. For a few more moments the beasts attacked him before they suddenly began to seem deformed and twisted as he blew them up in a veritable sea of flames bursting from them and through them came Erebos, having jumped up to the platform before the beasts exploded, with his saber raised high in one hand and a red lightning enveloped fist in the other. As he slammed the fist down first to sent out a wave of lightning along the ground he then quickly sprinted up and came at [member="Mantic Dorn"] with fury and ferocity.
tumblr_m8bbb6OI9A1qzvbepo1_r3_500.gif
He had gathered enough to empower his own bodies speed, strength, agility and balance with the force and he felt confident that if this jedi were to take him down he'd make the man pay for each inch of ground. His fighting style had radically changed as well he was incorporating Shiicho, Shien, djem-so, Niman, Juyo and even a style that had nothing to do with lightsaber fighting but did with sword fighting Stava. Not to mention various kicks, punches and jabs, to even more confuse his enemy he turned his saber off as he was about to slash at Mantic only to turn it on again when he turned it into a stab by the blade itself.
Erebos had been working on this style for a while but the foundation for it wasn't set yet and some of his moves were sloppy at times.

A deadly feeling welled up within Heol. What was this? What aura made him shiver, even a little bit?

This one was trained well in the Force, certainly. He could tell one of the duelists had sensed him already, probably the Sith. As for the Jedi, he seemed to be well trained in sword-fighting, his understanding of the Force did not allow him to sense Heol yet.

How strange...it's a first, that someone has ever detected my weak presence, Heol thought.

Watching in awe as the fire beasts continued to shape shift and intensify their flames, he looked towards the Jedi, who was able to par against such a feat. Both certainly impressive. He knew one day, his sabers could fight against such great masters of the Force, and the lightsaber. Yet, today was certainly not that day.

A few minutes of the battle passed, and Heol continued peeking bit by bit, hearing grunts, claims, and shouts. Snapping himself back into focus, he looked towards his pathway, and recognized another blast door, opened. It seemed to lead to the lower levels of the mine. It...was his key to receiving crystals. He could sense a faint aura of strong, rare, and uncommmon crystals. Those crystals were the reasons why he had come to this planet, in the first place.

Suddenly, within a blink of an eye, Heol darted out of his hiding spot. As speedy as he was, he knew there was a chance the two Force users would catch him, sooner or later. Jumping towards the wall, he quickly pushed off, and jumped off another wall. He could sense the rumbling, the cracking within the walls. The mine could go down easily, and fast.

Using a bit of his 'parkour' skills throughout his way to reach the next blast door, Heol reached his checkpoint with ease. Turning back, he noticed the Jedi and the Sith were still fighting. They might not have realized he had rushed through them...or have they?

Facing his destination, he continued down his way, in a hurry.

The mine was fragile.

The fiery beasts leaped up and Mantic was forced into a strange and heated battle versus the two. Somewhere he could pick up on the connection they bore with their master but he could not dismiss them as illussions. Was this sith capable of conjuring beasts of darkness?

Sithspawn! The thought tore at him. Was this a the mythological creatures that sith could conjure from the most forbidden corners of the dark side. Mantic felt a tint of fear strike his mind.

He rolled low trying to slash one of them through the belly but he felt unsure if it had caused any real damage. The scond one he managed to temporarily push away with a strong force push. It glided over the platform but just at the edge it regained balance and kept coming. Mean while Mantic pressed the other one backwards. But it only lasted for a few seconds before the other arrived and he had to go on the defensive again. This was not going well and he was trying to think of a way out from this.
Then as sudden as they had appeared they withered away. Mantic blinked and looked around, he sensed someone new as [member="Heol Wraith"] darted through the room. Everything was chaotic and Mantic had a hard time to focus. He needed to see the bigger picture here.

But he was not given enough time to reflect upon it since [member="Darth Erebos"] shortly afterwards sprinted up to his platform.
The dark one showered Mantic in strikes, cuts and kicks with a fury Mantic had not faced in a long time. the dark side had empowered him and the jedi was on the defensive. Shifting from Ataru to Soresu he collected his mind to remain neutral. the force valor along with his precognition helped him along to go high, bloch, dodge, flip, go low, parry, counter and so forth.

While Mantic felt that his swordmanship was in fact more refined then his opponent who seemed to be improvising, shifting techniques to throw this flurry of attacks. The jedi hwas however more fatigued and doubt had crossed his mind after having faced the sithspawns. the presence of [member="Heol Wraith"] also tore at his focus, he could not help but feel trapped.

And then, the sudden kick appeared and threw him off balance.
4391866-ven+zallow+agility1.gif
He crashed toward the far wall beyond the platform ledge and from there he dropped down. With a sound thud his armor smashed into the metal floor beneath. Dazed he pressed himself up. He felt his body ache and his left wrist kept pumping blood from a wound caused by the fall.
He was not sure if he would be able to best this opponent and with that in mind his eyes turned toward the entrance.

Erebos slashed, whirled and kicked as hard and fast as he could, all the while the jedi just managed to defend throughout his flurry of blows. The more it continued the more he could feel the creeping subtlety of fatigue moving into his muscles the more he kept attacking. Then he saw it a chance to move in, with a slash to [member="Mantic Dorn"]'s left and then he focused the force into his leg and roundhouse kicked Mantic sending him back.
To Erebos's surprise it sent Mantic flying back farther than he anticipated and ran up to the edge of the ramp and looked down towards Mantic and he saw were he was looking. "If you wish to leave than I suggest you do so now jedi." He said in a threatening tone, it was an attempt to hide his own fatigue. He didn't think he'd have anymore in him to continue for much longer but if Mantic would continue their duel then Erebos couldn't let him catch his breath. His body was tense in ready to charge down at Mantic's position if he was he wasn't going to take his offer of allowing him to leave.

[member="Heol Wraith"] would hear the growls of two Tuk'ata as they walked around the area of the second door, sniffing into the air and moving some of the boxes to the side to look into them. They were looking for something and didn't seem to pay Heol much attention but they were closing in on the second door. One of them, the smaller of the two, seemed to look every so often in the direction of Erebos and Mantic's battle as if she was worried for her master before the male simply growled and the female moved onto searching for what their master had asked them to search for.

[member="Darth Erebos"]
[member="Mantic Dorn"]

Heol wasn't an easy person to catch.

But if there was a handful that could in the galaxy, perhaps the Sith was a part of that. Yet, that would probably be only through....those things. The...beasts, Heol wanted to call them dogs, could detect him. Gritting his teeth, Heol could feel a small presence closing in on him. They were fast, and certainly dangerous. Yet he felt uncertain. Was he certain the 'dogs' were trying to reach him? It didn't seem so.

Quickly stopping himself from advancing towards his current route, he hid underneath a few cargo boxes, and watched the beasts carefully. Mane ablaze, both beasts were sniffing around the area. They were simply biting out pieces of cargo, peeking and sniffing at the same time. Confused, Heol continued to watch carefully.

Suddenly, one of the beasts barked. It seems as though it found what it was looking for...

...What in the-?

Mercy?

He had not expected this outcome. Mantic pressed himself to standing and looked up.

Was it s trick? Would he simply be ambushed once he let his guard fown? He had to remember what foul powers [member="Darth Erebos"] represented. Then again, perhaps this was true doubt. Perhaps this was a crack in the siths armor allowing the light to still touch him to some degree...

Never the less, from Mantics perspective he did not see how he could best someone able to conjure creatures out of pure fire. No, he needed to learn more about such a sinister power before attempting to root it out.

He pulled his saber into his hand and took a few steps away. He never left the sith with his eyes until reaching the exit. For a moment he hesitated. What ifhe was making a mistake, but quickly he returned to his hasty retreat out of the mine.
