Inspecting the new recruits (Yvonne Delacroix)

[member="Yvonne Delacroix"]

Ice was in his office when he was pinged by Cryax. An eyebrow raised when he read the message and it mentioned something about a slicer/spacer he was sending Ice's way. "I guess I can always used a good slicer...and if Cryax is recommending this person, they must be good." He said casually to himself. Ice mulled over the idea a bit longer and finally sent back a message.

"Sure thing Cryax. Go ahead and send this slicer of yours to the Shark Tank Cantina on Libertalia. I'm sure I can find something to keep 'em occupied. Ill be there waiting when they arrive."

Time went by quickly as it always did for Ice. Being busy always had a way of making time fly. Still the time had come for this new slicer to arrive. He wore a suit of his firewalker armor, minus the helmet underneath much more casual looking clothes, namely a pair of jeans and a white t-shirt with a black button up shirt over that, but left unbuttoned. Along his hips sat two blaster pistols which he always kept with him. Calling over the waitress, he ordered one of his favorite drinks. A double shot of Whyren's Corellian Whiskey. And then he waited...

When Yvonne was able to dock, she would be met by a couple security guards dressed in casual clothes so as to be inconspicuous. They would greet her with a simple, "Hello. Are you the person here to see Ice?"

Yvonne stood at the top of the ramp that leads up into the docking bay of her YT-1300 that was painted in a dark orange-red color with black trim. The pale skinned woman with dark red hair stared down at the guards who greater her.

“I am.” She aid simply then walked down towards the personal who greeted her. Yvonne was dressed in her usual jeans, white tank top and suspenders under a long black duster coat.

“Lead the way.” She added then gave a small smile.

They returned her smile and escorted her through the massive station. Eventually they made their way to the wharf were the Shark Tank Cantina was located. Getting close, one of the guards sent a message to Ice informing him they were about to enter. Ice turned in his seat just in time to see Yvonne walk through the door, followed by her escorts. An eyebrow raised again as he took stock of what lay before him. "I really need to get Cryax to fill in a couple more details when he decides to send me new people." He though almost laughingly to himself. He after all had failed to mention this slicer happened to come in the form of a beautiful woman. Still in any event, he was only momentarily surprised, and quickly recovered.

It was then one of the guards made a small gesture for her pointing out where Ice was. As they did, he had gotten up from his seat and gave her a small nod to come on over and join him at his table. When she would make her way over, the guards would leave, and Ice would give his traditional small but respectful bow along with a warm smile. "Welcome to Libertalia." He said in a friendly manner. "I'm Ice, whom our mutual friend I believe sent you to meet. It's a pleasure to meet you miss?" He was usually pretty good at figuring people out in a fairly short amount of time. This situation would be no different he thought, and he went about quickly analyzing what he could about the beauty that stood before him while he waited for her response.

[SIZE=11.5pt]One of Yvonne's hands slid out of her outer coat pocket and drops a few credit markers behind the bar as the barkeep’s back faced the two of them. Yvonne reached over and picked up a bottle of Happen Whiskey then plops down onto a stool behind her as she faced Ice. The bottle dragged off the edge of the bar counter as she held it in her lap and opened it up. “Yvonne. Yvonne Delacroix.” She said eyeing him a little curiously while her gloved fingers loosen up the top of the bottle. [/SIZE]

He liked the woman almost instantly. Though he was curios at first as to what in the galaxy she was doing. He cast a glance over at the bar keep and gave the man a small nod. The barkeep then walked back over and gave Yvonne her credits back. "First introduction drinks are always on me." He said and then looked to the barkeep holding up his drink in a manner that said bring a bottle of his whiskey on over as well. "A woman after my own heart. Always nice to see a woman that can hold her liquor."

Resuming his seat, he downed his doubled and gave a small grin. "It would appear you have some catching up to do though." Ice finished challengingly before letting out a sigh. "So Cryax tells me you are a slicer, but honestly not much else. Can you fill in any details for me? What kind of experience do you have. What are you hoping to get out of this meeting? You know, the basics for starters."

The barkeep had returned with a bottle of his choice whiskey along with a glass for Yvonne. Meanwhile as he scampered away back to his duties, Ice poured himself another drink. He'd have offered to pour her one. But somehow he doubted she would even be using the glass. Still, always best to wait and see for some things.

Yvonne looked the bottle over in silence then puts it up against her soft red lips taking a drink from it slowly. "Yes, I am a slicer. I am also a pilot.." she trailed off while waving one hand slightly while the one wielding the bottle before sitting it back down as she sighs happily. A wide grin grew across her soft face as the pair of green eyes slides over towards the barkeep for a moment at the mention of free liquor. "I can't pass up free Whiskery, now can I?"

"What am I after? A job I guess." Yvonne looks back addressing Ice once again. "Things have quieted down and gone dull -- not really my thing. Old Cryax said that you have some work coming up soon."

[member="Yvonne Delacroix"]

"No indeed." He said with a smirk. So a pilot and a slicer eh? He did have a couple projects coming up, but none that he'd want to discuss in the open like this. Standing up with his own bottle of whiskey in hand, he gave her a nod of his head to follow him. "Come. A don't forget the whiskey." He added playfully.

Walking to a back room, he tapped a few buttons on his data pad, and the couple guards that escorted her here in the first place soon approached. Taking up positions outside the door, they closed it as soon as Yvonne had entered. "Please, make yourself comfortable." Ice offered, though somehow he doubted he would have actually had to offer her to sit. Likewise taking a seat, he regarded the woman for a few moments as he mulled a couple ideas over in his head. "I have a couple different possibilities for you. One is I am needing to capture a couple rather hostile type creatures on a certain planet. I'll be sending some help. But mostly I'll be needing a pilot to transfer the beasties once they have been captured. Not really much for slicing, but I still need the pilot."

"Another possibility is I need a slicer to hack into another firms computers to try and gather information on some of their products." He paused there for a moment to see what she would think of a couple of these options. "What are your thoughts on these possibilities?"

[SIZE=11.5pt]Yvonne follows Ice into the other room as her eyes watched the guards for a moment from their corners as if she was a bit suspicious of their motives. Once inside, she looks back fully ahead at the man ahead of her, Ice while holding the bottle of whiskey in one hand. The Anzat smiles faintly as she remained standing near the door while listening to the jobs being offered. [/SIZE]

[SIZE=11.5pt]“How about the pilot job? Call it a testing of our chemistry in terms of how well we work together. Slicing can become problematic if two people who don’t work well have issues half way through a dangerous hack.” After stating, she walks over him now and sits her bottle down onto a small end table besides his seat.[/SIZE]

Ice smiled widely. "Good. A brain behind the pretty face as well." He thought silently to himself. Pouring whiskey in his glass, he picked it up and swirled it around as he thought. "That, was the right answer. Now this pilot job though won't be just flying. The location is a corporate secret. As such, very few people are allowed to go to this planet as we are trying to keep it's location a secret for as long as possible. What that means for you, is you will be working closely with me and a few others to capture these creatures. With limited personnel, means everyone is required to help out. I figure you probably understood that, but I just wanted to make that perfectly clear."

Taking a good sip from his glass, he smirked again. "You're falling behind again." He chuckled as he wondered why she wouldn't sit. Was she really thinking he was going to try and take advantage of her? Ice after all had thought the less than legal jobs that they were discussing would have made it obvious as to why they went to a back room. But hey. Some people were just naturally cautious. Which he couldn't agree more. He was the same way. It was why he still had his pistols and a two guards posted even despite her being recommended by Cryax.

"Anyway. If you are looking for steady work after this, STI can definitely keep you busy. We might also get you set up with the Red Ravens for some extra work if you fancy it. So do you have any questions for me then?"

Notices the expression that Ice gave as she remained unseated. Perhaps a habit from working dangerious lines of work with even more dangerious individuals. Yvonne continued onwards.

"I am glad you approved of my answer. " she said teasingly while she sat down against the edge of a desk that ran infront of them both putting her closer to @Ice. Yvonne's green eyes seemed to somehow almost sparkle as a sweet smell began to slowly fill the area giving an almost intoxicating effect if Ice noticed.

"What is it, exactly, that I am transporting. What sort of creature? "

[member="Yvonne Delacroix"]

So far, seemed to be exactly the kind of woman he'd enjoy working with. She was intelligent, attractive, seemed to be able to handle herself. Though confidence admittedly could be a well played front. Still, if she was half as effective as she seemed, he wouldn't have a problem bringing her on. And on a personal side, he loved any woman that could hold their liquor. As she spoke, he began to notice a feint smell of something sweet. Not paying it much mind, he began to feel the effect of the alcohol he had been drinking. At least he thought it was the alcohol.

When she questioned what kind of creature it was they were to be capturing, he hesitated for a moment and then sighed. Tapping a few buttons on his datapad, he wasn't one to withhold relevant facts to those that would work with him. Keeping her in the dark would only hurt the team in the long run after all, if she wasn't prepared for what they would be going against. Setting his datapad down on the table after he found what he was looking for. He spun it around so she could see for herself.

"It's called an energy spider. It resides in the cave systems on only a very few select worlds. One of these worlds happens to be were I recently set up mining operations. I want to capture a couple for research. You never know what kind of new things can be created when you study nature for a bit." He then paused and waited to see her reaction and if she'd lose her nerve at all.

Yvonne slid herself more onto the desk as she crosses one leg over the other in front of Ice. “Cute..” she said while looking over the arachnid creature. “Is it sentient?” Yvonne asked as her voice peaked slightly with curiosity. The mysterious smell around them grew more potent and often caused a relaxing effect with most. Delacroix’s free hand reaches up to brush a few strands of red hair from her eyes as she looks softly towards Ice.

As she slid onto the desk in front of him some, it piqued his curiosity. It was a bit of a seductive move the way she began to look. And although normally he certainly wouldn't mind the attention from a woman like her, a slight warning bell began to ring in the back of his mind. It was that same sense that had gotten him out of trouble many a times before. What Ice had always simply taken as luck was in fact his force sensitive side which he had no knowledge of, coming to the fore. His sudden feeling of being relaxed and less focused also began to surprise him.

Normally he could drink like a fish and very rarely get affected to badly. Unless he was drinking something especially strong, like his reactor core drinks. His left hand drifted to his hip above his pistol casually as he shook his head lightly to refocus. "Sentient? No. It is an animal like any other...just big and mean." Looking into her beautiful green eyes, he stared back with his crystal blues for a moment and smirked. "So. You still game? Or have I scared ya off with the big bad spider?" Ice finished playfully.

[member="Ice"]

Yvonne smiled playfully back then winked. "Scared? No but you seemed scared. Do I scare you, Ice? Make you nervous? " The woman's smile begins to fade into a small frown.

[member="Yvonne Delacroix"]

A slight chuckle escaped his lips as he simply stared back for a moment. "No." He answered firmly, though a smile remained on his lips. "And yes." He didn't add anything to it for a moment. Still piecing within his mind what he thought about her. "Anyone who doesn't fear an attractive slicer pilot at least a little would be a quite the fool. Wouldn't you agree?" Her small frown didn't put him off. Ice wasn't one to let go of a good opportunity lightly. But at the same point, he would never just cast caution to the wind. His hand didn't drift any closer to his pistol and still wasn't even touching it, instead merely stayed close by. The other hand reached out for the datapad and picked it up as he gave the creature a look see.

"Well then, since you aren't scared. When do you think you can be ready to go?" His expression showed it was a straightforward enough question. But his eyes seemed to hint there might be multiple ways of taking the question. If she was to pick up on it anyway. His smirk had only ebbed away slightly while he waited for her response.

Smiles again. "I am glad you are not frighten of me. Things...I.." Yvonne paused then cleared her throat. "Anyways...you said we would be working togeather closely on this mission. I take it my role is the pilot. What is it you will be doing?"

[member="Yvonne Delacroix"]

He noticed her hesitation and was curious as to what she actually wanted to say, but thought better to actually press the matter.

"I'll be your navigator." He said plainly. Ice then began to wonder where it was that sweet smell had gone off too. Perhaps it was just in his head and he was imagining it. Pushing the completely irrelevant detail away from his mind, he continued on. "The planet we are going to is a secret. I need to make sure the coordinates to this location stay secret. So I'll be purging the coordinates from your system when we arrive, and then after we have left. Honestly, that is standard procedure on any ship we send to this particular location. And don't worry. You are more than welcome to look over my shoulder so I don't mess with anything not these coordinates in your database."

He sat back in his seat and took another sip of his whiskey, though it would probably be the last he'd have for a while. "Anyway, I'd like to get moving in fairly short order. Perhaps tomorrow. Would this work for you?"

[member="Ice"]

She gives a small nod then crosses her arms against her chest loosely. The Anzat's attention drops at the hand near Ice's blaster and chuckles. "Navigator, that works." she shoots out quickly commenting then stands up again straight.
"I am a bit curious as why this place is such a secret and why these spiders are important." Yvonne turns and slowly walks over to a window peaking out curiously as she stood there with her back to Ice, even though she kept note of where he was.

"I apologize for my mannerisms, there from many years of needing to look over my back and keep myself safe from those who would rather see me dead. Yes..heading out tomorrow is fine." Yvonne added quietly then turns as she heads towards the door before it slides open. The guards on the outside step back as if not expecting someone to leave already while she heads back to her ship. "See you in the morning.."

Ice sighed inwardly when he noticed her gaze drop to his hand by the pistol. Perhaps he had not been as casual with the movement as he thought. Well he had not had the intention to be rude, so her sudden desire to depart was disappointing. It was then he realized they still needed to go over some things.

Clearing his throat to get her attention before she skipped out, he rose from his seat and followed her as Ice started again, "Yvonne, you're forgetting a couple things aren't you?" He'd wait till she turned back around to face him. "First, I'm sure you don't mean to help with this mission for free right? I'd like to hear your payment requirements before we finalize the trip. And second..."

He then produced her bottle of whiskey that she had forgotten from behind his back and handed it to her. "Here, nights on a ship alone can get cold." He finished, only now returning her earlier wink.

"We'll speak of payment on the way there." Yvonne stops and smirks as she turns around and wraps a gloved hand around Ice's taking the bottle slowly. "Cold?.." she whispers back out loud then steps closer towards him while her free hand plays with a button on his clothing. "Concerned about me, are you?" she asks coyly.
