THE SPIRITSPEAKERS
“We do not flee the storm. We keep the fire lit within it.”
Long before the banners of the Empire were raised anew, there were Spiritspeakers. They did not wear rank. They did not march to war. But across the Outer Rim—on shattered moons and quiet homesteads, deep in bone-strewn forests and scorched salt flats—there were always those who listened. To the wind. To the flame. To the voices of the fallen.
These mystics, shamans, and quiet caretakers drew their strength not from temples or warlords, but from memory. From ancestry. From the stories buried beneath ash and blood. In time, their traditions became many—some brewed remedies, others chanted to the void, and others still shaped the Force as if by instinct. Where they gathered, healing followed.
In the earliest days of the Mandalorian Empire, one such tradition took root: the Hearthwardens, a sanctuary-minded guild that served war-weary Mandalorians with healing, guidance, and spiritual care. They were not warriors, but they stood against chaos all the same.
Then came the Gravesong War.
The tides of undeath swept through the stars, and no enemy of flesh alone could be blamed. What the Mandalorians faced was older. Stranger. Touched by the Netherworld itself. In that crucible, the Hearthwardens became something more—no longer simply caretakers, but guardians of the soul.
So rose the Orar’ade: The Spiritspeakers.

The Force is not a weapon. It is the whisper of those who came before.
The Spiritspeakers hold no single doctrine. Each member walks their own path—some commune with the dead, others walk through dreams, still others weave light and shadow to heal or protect. To the Speakers, the Force is not a system to be mastered. It is an ancestral current. A spiritual inheritance. A haunting, holy breath that lives within the bones of all things.
Many trace their practices back through generations, shaped by proximity to ancient outer worlds. Their beliefs echo through bloodlines, chants, tattoos, and rites too old for written record. Their traditions are whispered in firelight and spoken in silence. Their practices often include trances, potions, protective wards, or rituals that blur the line between alchemy and prayer.
There is no single style among them, but common threads endure: armor etched with runes, robes layered with charms, bone-crafted talismans, and masks worn during rites of spirit communion. Some carry staves, others sing in strange tongues, and all of them wear the marks of their calling on their skin, their garments, or their soul.
Above all, the Spiritspeakers are a guild. They do not command soldiers or wear rank insignias. They are civilians—mystics and mediums—banding together in service to Mandalorian society in the best way they know how. Not as conquerors, but as keepers of peace, clarity, and survival.
They are not pacifists. When the darkness comes, they do not turn away. They simply meet it with fire, and with remembrance.

ORGANIZATION
The voice of the flame is not given by rank. It is earned in listening
There is no formal hierarchy among the Spiritspeakers. Theirs is a communal order, a collection of gifted individuals joined by shared purpose and recognized by the Empire as an official guild. While they do not answer directly to the Mand’alor, they serve Mandalorian society at large with humility, ritual, and resolve.
Among them, knowledge is passed from elder to apprentice, seer to initiate, not through command—but through presence. Through practice. Through the rhythm of tradition. No two Spiritspeakers are the same, but many adopt old titles passed down over time: firetender, bone-reader, whisperweaver, mourner, dreamseer.
And when the air stills, it is said, you will know one by the quiet that walks with them.
