Private Infinite Ruins

"Hmm...not particularly no. I more or less want my name in the historical record. I want to be known as the authority on something. Frankly that something will probably be art and not artifacts or archaeology, but that's okay. I'm going to make it happen and prove everyone wrong. I'm excited to do so."

Spite, some may say, kept that goal burning. Either way she fully planned to have that goal complete by thirty-five and conquer the next. She could respect Meri Vale Meri Vale for wanting to find something no one else had before. Or solve a problem that others had failed to do. In her eyes that would make Meri at least semi-famous, if only in the archaeology community.

"I think you'll achieve your goals. Really."
She gestured around the room. "Already on the path y'know?"

Meri smiled at that, glancing around the ancient room when Persephone gestured to it. "I hope so," she said. "Although I think I'm still at the part where I find out how much I don't know." Considering how often something unexpected had already changed what she thought she understood about a site, she suspected that part might never entirely go away.

She looked back toward Persephone, her smile widening slightly. "I think you'll do it too. Become the person everyone has to cite whenever they talk about whatever you choose." Meri could certainly imagine Persephone making sure of that. "Just remember me when you're a famous expert and I'm asking you to identify something weird I dug out of a ruin."

"Don't worry. We will be famous together."

Plenty of room in the archaeological world for both of them. Persephone had plans to focus more on the art side of things eventually, which is why she had been doing multiple internships with Miss Mauve du Vain. A little illegal in some dealings but the best experience was hands on and there weren't many art galleries willing to take on young interns.

"So, do we continue here or wrap it up? Seems like we need to come back with imaging equipment."
