Infestation on Balmorra

Daella’s eyes glanced over each person that volunteered to go with the strike team. She offered no expression of concern or joy - just acknowledgement.

When @Marek S’hadar volunteered to carry the charges, Daella briefly spoke to say, “No need. I was given this duty, and we could use your skills to keep everyone alive.

Then when @[member="Arumi Zy"] questioned whether or not there should be another bomb, Ozi quickly replied, “The baradium charge is all we can spare with the Creation Nest’s support. The damage to the mining equipment at the surface shall be within acceptable margins.

After Arumi then allowed himself to be under Daella’s command, she glanced over to the Republic trooper in charge of the soldiers that came. Then looking at Arumi, she replied to him with, “Go where you believe you will be of most use.

With no more questions, the rest of the Republic’s forces split into their groups. The strike team boasted just a handful of people while the diversionary team seemed to be a formidable force. Daella and her group would have gone to a single shuttle near Sobrik’s spaceport while the diversionary team went out on heavily armed speeders that might as well have been called tanks.

Upon reaching the shuttle, several Balmorran officers approached the strike team. Two of them carried a large baradium charge that would have been the size of Daella’s torso. They placed the charge before Daella and gave one glance at her before silently turning and walking away.

Without a word, Daella strapped the charge to her as if a backpack. She stood tall with its weight and let out a single sigh as she walked onto the shuttle. The smaller charges for hindering the Colicoid Queen’s chase would already be aboard the shuttle for someone to carry.

Then once everyone that was a part of the strike team boarded the shuttle, it would have taken off and began to make its way to Bugtown. First though, the diversionary team would have to begin its attack to draw away most of the Colicoid soldiers.

Vexander noticed the big baradium charge... it seemed almost like a nuke... but he knew that if it was really a baradium charge it would have a different composition that would explode in a different way and would do the trick. However, he was bothered with the fact that such charge had to be taken inside... a small bolt or even a strike could set it off and it would blow up the Jedi Knight in charge of the mission... still, he didn't say anything since @[member="Daella Apparine"] already made her mind about the duty to take it.

Inside the shuttle, he noticed the other charges... the small ones that would block the path for the queen, the ones that had to be set all the way along their escape route to make sure that they are not followed... in case everything else fails and to avoid the Queen escaping the main blast... it was not likely but possible, and as Jedi they had to make sure that the job gets done no matter what.

Seeing that it was basically because of him that they threw the charges at the shuttle, he silently took the charges and placed them in a backpack that was around, and then secured the bad in his shoulders, almost like Daella did.

The shuttle launched and it began to move towards the place designated as Bugtown. He was well aware that the infiltration wouldn't start until the diversion team was in position. Until that time, Vex just closed his eyes and began to work on his breathing to calm himself before the mission, to allow the Force to guide him and to be ready at everything that could get in the way... including those visions that he didn't want in his mind.

Selena watched the activities of the Jedi a bit from a distance, her status as an exile hung in her mind. While she was at the planet to lend aid to the situation at hand she was no member of the order. In fact, she was little different than Arumi in regards to her presence on the mission except she was less included than he. In fact, her status was somewhat of a mystery to her as well. She was not a part of the Republic military but we here with them. It was all odd really.

Regardless of her "status" the Jedi Master hung with the group. Well a portion of it. As one group left to plant the charges to kill the vast majority of the colicoid threat she went with the distraction team. The shuttles she road on were heavily armed she noted, they would do well in clearing a landing zone. Once they were out of the shuttles though, she imagined it would get rather nasty. The reports minced no words when saying how brutal this strain of colicoid was. Part of her also wondered if they really even had a good estimation to how big of a hive they had uncovered. After all, it had been thousands of years that this one was missing.

As the shuttle flew on she kept on wondering about this things. Bugtown and the battle ahead would probably be the only thing that could break her from these musings.

Through his connection the Queen and the Colicoids that served her, the dark hooded figure that was Vilox Pazela commanded the bugs to begin digging. Center to the circled rotunda like formation that was the center of the cave, and so the area that the Jedi and their teams called Bugtown, Colicoids of all varying shapes and sizes began to burrow. Pieces of granite mixed with iron ore deposits, dirt and stone were beginning to collect in piles towards the edge of the cave. The Dark Jedi was watching them work, for a while. Turning away from the giant insects, he headed into a opening that led into a smaller enclosure where the Queen was laying.

He outstretched his hands across the surface of the being and closed his eyes. The dark side was around him, pouring into the creature. So palpable, with each moment that the Jedi edged closer to Bugtown, the more they could feel his presence. Sith'ise was murmured under his breath as he began to work, changing the molecular structure of the Queen to make her bigger and more vicious. It was part of his plans to create his own Levithans, much like the Akure Levithan on Felucia. He didn't think he would be successful in turning the Colicoid Queen into one. He lacked the time to gain the experience necessary to alter her in such a way. The Jedi would be here soon.

But he knew that he could make her more strong, more potent than the Jedi thought she would be than before. When he was finished, he would have a bigger, better monster than the one he had first encountered.

Once the diversionary team would have reached Bugtown, its actions would have caused massive Colicoids to pour out of auxiliary tunnels to meet the aggressors. These bugs were strictly warriors meant to protect the hive to the death. @[member="Selena Halcyon"] would have faced formidable soldiers with wills of their own - typical of the Colicoid species - rather than mindless drones. They also seemed to be resilient against mind tricks and would form into a defensive ball much like a droideka if necessary.

Meanwhile, the strike team eventually landed close to another auxiliary tunnel on the east side of Bugtown. With many of the warrior Colicoids rushing to attack the diversionary team on the west side, the strike team’s landing was not yet met with resistance.

Daella stepped off the shuttled with the baradium bomb still strapped to her back. With its casing, accidental explosions would have been unlikely yet a stray blaster bolt or mishandling would cause issues.

After approaching the entrance of the auxiliary tunnel, she looked back to the rest of the strike team as if waiting for a few to enter first. A cacophonous clicking could be heard coming from the tunnel and the team would likely find Colicoids soon after entering.

The swarms upon the ground would terrify most, to be sure. Thousands of the bugs seemed to be moving around from the height at which her shuttle flew. In fact the ground almost looked alive. From her familiarity with Colicoids the mission was not a simple one for Selena. She had to constantly remind herself that these were mindless drones and not true sentients.

She moved up towards the cockpit of the troop transport. "We need to begin clearing a landing zone. A lot of fire power is going to be needed for that. Take it at the edge. In order to survive we are going to be move around a lot. Keep your engines hot."

It didn't take long for the vicious battle to start between the diversion team. Anyone could easily hear the distant cries of battle and havok that usually came along the first waves of battle. On the other hand, the Strike team went to a silent cave where they could only hear a few clicking noises from the inside.

The young man noticed how @[member="Daella Apparine"] decided to stay behind, afterall, she had the charge and her position had to be secured and covered, in the front and in the back just in case anything unpleased arrived from there. Normally, Vex would have wanted the rear to make sure that he could cover the exit for the whole team, but he was carrying the other charges needed and therefore, he just decided to take out the blaster he always carried and remained in front of the one who had the baradium charge.

At that moment, the young man waited silently for everyone else to jump in, and remained with his senses open to the Force and the surroundings to shoot at anything moving that meant harm to them without giving away their position.

Arumi turned towards Selena " Fire power is not needed, we should have more then enough to destroy anything in our path" he said as he started to move.
