STRENGTHS
  • Workhorse of the Navy: The only real noteworthy or outstanding traits of the Indictable frigates are their communications systems and their ability to be produced on a large scale. This makes them ideal as patrol and support vessels, relaying information to a larger fleet while at the same time being able to be fielded in numbers great enough to serve as a decent first response force. They offer great usage to any size and composition of fleet in this manner, as well as their well-rounded nature of course.
  • Jack of all Trades: In an effort to ensure that the Indictable can be as solid of an addition to the Sith fleets and armadas as possible, great effort went into designing the frigates to be effective in almost all areas. From its respectable armaments to its stalwart defenses, all without any lacking speed or dexterity, the Indictables can be slotted into a general purpose frigate role quite comfortably and with an admirable performance.
WEAKNESSES
  • Master of None: The Indictable doesn't excel in any particular field nor does it boast any great or unique armaments or systems. While this may not set it apart from many other such warships it does mean that the overall performance of the frigates are steady and consistent, but not inherently great. They are more reliant upon good strategy and tactics as well as competent crews and commanders, which are of course not always in good supply.
  • Stiff Design: While made as a general purpose frigate, the design and structure of the Indictable isn't the most modular or flexible. In order to make them easier and quicker to produce there simply isn't much room for additional or tradable parts which does restrict the Indictable to a small set of roles. Albeit ones that it can fulfill fairly well.
DESCRIPTION
While restricting and reconfiguring their overall ship types, both to account for newer designs and refit older ones, a gap in their manifest that simply couldn't be easily filled was discovered by the Inquisition's engineers and strategists. Frigates offered more mobility and easier production than Cruisers while at the same time bringing more firepower than Corvettes, and yet this middle ground type of vessel was simply lacking in their arsenal.

So naturally they set out to fix said gap, however their typical design process was interrupted when Lord Inquisitor Darth Strosius requested that their coming vessel be able to be produced on a large scale and somewhat versatile in order to provide his coming campaign with a reliable and steady ship that could be used in a few different roles. A lower crew requirement was also a natural need as the first few dozens of the line were meant for the Lord Inquisitor's personal usage before they entered wider production across the Sith Order.

As such the Indictable line is somewhat different from other Inquisition vessels, being very rigid in design and incapable of any real modifications or variations yet at the same time easier to crew and produce as a result. It's an effective and capable warship that, while not specialized nor customizable, can be counted upon as a reliable vessel to have on hand.
