Incom R&D - Project Movin' at the Spee- What? (Corellia)

Alyesa sighed as she looked over the schematics of the fusial engines before her and ran a delicate hand across the flimsy sheets, this was the final step of a long journey for her. Parts had been ordered, the new units had begun being filled and armor manufactured, all it was missing was the heart...so to speak.

The engines would be the biggest component, it would be the piece that made the whole thing come together. Yeah sure, the pilot would fly the damned thing and ensure it didn't waste a nearly million dollar plus spacecraft, and sure the TibX would burn through the very core of the engine...but the engine itself would push it through the stars.

She pulled down her flare goggles as she looked up at the engineers and designers and gave them a thumbs up. It was time to go to work on the heart of it all. It was time to make the dream a reality.

Alyesa would flinch as the sparks would fly from the welders and mechanics moving back and forth at various points of the engine components, obviously not ready to actually get to the core of the engine. That is where she would step in with her own team of engineers, right now, they were assembling harder points of armor coating the vessel and ensuring the casing would hold tight.

She watched through heavily green tinted goggles as they welded, smoothed, and checked various pieces. Their talking...no...yelling was barely audiable over the sound of machines and...was that music? Alyesa would turn to look at the music machine playing a local station. The welders and mechanics didn't seem to mind what was playing, even if it was some older tunes that Alyesa had never even heard of.

She would just hold her smile tightly as her arms came around her and clasped each one tightly.

The minutes seemed like days and the hours seemed like weeks.

When was it going to be her turn to toy with the damned thing....

She breathed a sigh of relief as the welders and mechanics began packing up their items and stepping back from the four newly assembled engines. Alyesa would then step forward to the exposed compartments and take a look over them. Indeed, it was an impressive sight to see the components without the camoflauge paint and the core of the engine in place. The thickness of the new armor and yet it didn't feel heavy as she moved the access panels up and down.

It was indeed something to be truly happy about.

Now, it was time for the engineers to begin working on the core components. It was a modified XJ-9 engine that allowed for a higher output ratio and was fine tuned to burn Tibanna X. They had taken from older designs such as the RZ-1s and changing piping around to allow for better cooling and increased fuel efficiency. It ended up proving worth it in the end.

Alyesa frowned as the engineers looked over the components in each engine core and seemed to be confused about different piping levels and components in different areas. She lifted her goggles to the top of her head and yelled over the music box. "It's the same as the damned XJ-9, just look at it from the side and you'll see what I'm talking about!"

And as if a lightbulb went off in their heads, they craned their necks and had an expression of realization and continued to work on the fitting of the pipes and various components. Alyesa groaned loudly and pulled the goggles back down and went back to looking at the flimsy spread.

She couldn't remember what they had decided on the metallic alloy combination for the armor, what was the name of it again?

Ah! Yes, they made a combination of a Titanium-Duranium Alloy and never named it. Who cared at this point. It was a thing of beauty and was highly resistant should the shields end up failing when these things of beauty went on their attack runs.

The One Sith would have a surprise or two coming at them when Bunker Busters came their way, or even Shadow Bombs. See, the beautiful thing about the Stealth-X was that it would only be detected if the idiot pilot decided to hail something over communications or use the proton torpedos or bunker busters. Well, she couldn't say that they were idiots when they were doing runs but using the communications channel when you were trying to get into enemy lines was beyond her.

It didn't matter, the core of the engines was being installed and the engineers were progressing well, it was only a matter of time before they would be completed and the first batches of Tibanna X would be able to be pumped in and they could be primed.

Finally, the engineers were done.

Alyesa nodded as she approached the engine cores and looked the welds of the pipes and other components. They looked solid. Each component appeared to fit snug and just right. It was as if this thing was meant to be, you know as if it were a stroke of destiny to be back in the production line of Incom Corporation.

Alyesa looked to her right as the engineers approached with the fuel lines of Tibanna X, and with that she would take a step back as the darkened liquid was pumped into the reservoirs that were hastily placed into the engine systems just for testing. It would be interesting to see how this thing worked up close.

When the engineers signaled that all four cells were filled and the reservoirs were completely sealed off, Alyesa motioned for all teams to stand clear and move behind the specialized barriers. Now would come the moment of truth as they would begin the pre-stages to priming the engines for their initial ignition.

Alyesa would stand behind the transparisteel glass and look out at the four engines, her hands manipulating the controls of the console as she watched the gauges begin to display different numbers and percentages. She could hear the soft whine of the engines priming as the flow of the Tibanna X began to go through the cool pipes, warming as it passed through the primer core and eventually towards the ignition reservoir.

She would hesitate for a second, anxiety hitting her just as she slapped the ignite button.

With a pulse and a small explosion of blue-black flame, the engines would ignite with a roar of near-deafening sound, Alyesa flinched behind the transparisteel glass and ducked even as the flames burned brightly just for a brief and then subsided.

She would slowly look up from behind the console, staring at the beautiful blue-black flame in awe. She had done it. Now it was time to push them to the limits.

"We've confirmed they're not showing up on the sensors we've placed around the room, but we need to test the durability of the engines themselves as well as the output." She nodded to the engineers around her as she pushed the throttle forward, increasing the flow of the Tibanna X to the engines, thus increasing the projected speed and intensity of the flame. Regardless, the sensors didn't change in reading, but the output was increased.

It was reaching projected speeds that would rival that of the some of the best fighters in the galaxy, if not beyond that.

Of course, that was the intention of it. Be a quick strike fighter that was capable of penetrating enemy lines without the enemy knowing what hit them and by the time they figured it out the fighter would be long gone or possibly hitting them again.

It would be a thing of beauty.

All readings remained green as she red-lined the engines, leaving them there for a moment. A satisfied smile on her face, a happy sigh escaping her lips as she slowly backed them down to a dull roar.

These past few months had paid off...finally.

So with the engines tested, the sensors mounted, all things in placed. It would be about fitting them onto the actual frame itself.

It was all about the dynamics and ensuring it looked and felt right.

She watched as the frame was brought in from it's location next door and each engine was fastened into place, welded and sealed down into it's proper location.

It was a thing of beauty when it was fully painted and assembled before her. A bristling black weapon of destruction that would be able to punch the One Sith so hard in the mouth, they wouldn't know what hit them. Now, it was time to finish the drill and send a message to [member="Popo"] and A.E.L and secure the final piece to make this fighter whole.

She finished her secured message to the Chancellor, as well as the heavily encrypted message to the CEO of A.E.L.

Hopefully, she'd hear back from the A.E.L CEO soon, she needed that component to complete the project.

She knew soon enough that the project would be leaked or once the assembly line started shooting these off, the One Sith would discover the newest weapon of the Republic and attempt to sabotage the project...but she had a plan for that. She was already spreading the project out over different facilities to prevent any one act of sabotage from limiting production. That was the beauty of being Incom and having hands in different cookie jars.

Again, much like before, she concealed the final project, password and encrypted the final plans and sent it off to Fresia, Commenor, and Ranklinge. Production was about to begin...
