In the Nightfall

Chasin-class Star Destroyer Buckler, near Attahox

The Buckler silently slid through the black void with only the faint glow of distant stars. Few other ships traveled near Attahox, and those few that did rarely wanted to attract the attention of any sort of governmental ship. Normally Gir would have been loathe to fly such a route, since it would have few attractions to look forward to or any other vessels to encounter. Yet there were doldrums in the Expansion Region, and that is exactly what he needed with the Buckler for her shakedown cruise. The smell of cleaning sealants still wafted through the ship's corridors and the decks remained as polished as they had two weeks ago when the vessel had launched from Lucerne Lab's Gyndine shipyards. There was a certain beauty in a new and untarnished ship like the Buckler, yet that was not why the warship sailed the stars.

The comlink attached to his tunic chimed, prompting Gir to tap the activation stud.

"Captain."

"Yes?"

"All final checks are complete. The ship is ready for handover."

"So it is," said Gir, "I will head to the ambassadorial suites to meet the CSA representative."

Tempus class Star Frigate - The Astrid

For a moment the much larger vessel had been alone in its slow meandering gait as it slipped through the void near Attahox. Those paying attention would have picked up the vessel, the brilliant flash of it exiting hyperspace marking the arrival of the Frigate. Though it was much smaller, it was still in its own way useful to the individual that was currently residing upon the bridge. Golden hues slowly moved over the Star Destroyer, dancing across its hull as they moved along as much of the vessel as they could.

"Bring us along side... Inform their crew that the Head of Security for the Commenor Systems Alliance will be boarding shortly."

"Yes Ma'am."

The woman took a moment to admire the vessel for a final glimpse before she slipped away from where she stood. The heavy thuds of her boots echoing as they marched from the bridge. Much of the crew on the vessel were those loyal to her in someway, or otherwise closely linked to herself. A soft smirk grew upon her lips as she approached the airlock that would soon enough join the two vessels together.

Gir briskly strode down the halls of the warship, occasionally glancing at various objects and bulkheads, looking for anything amiss. He knew that the chances of him noticing anything blatantly wrong with the vessel were slim, yet it somehow comforted him to physically observe that nothing was wrong with the vessel. He was nearing the ambassadorial suites located in the depths of the vessel when his comlink chimed yet again, which then promptly cut off and to his holstered datapad. He pulled out the tablet and flipped open the cover to see footage of the Astrid coming in to dock with the star destroyer. Gir briefly observed the frigate, recognizing it as a Tempus-class which mostly typically saw service with the Galactic Empire. He had only encountered one once before, finding it to be a stout and powerful combatant for its size.

Smaller warships like frigates were typically neglected in design advances by major powers, yet there was much to be said for having such craft in service, especially with a regional power usually concerned with keeping the peace like the Commenor Systems Alliance. Yet there was a reason why many larger powers concentrated on making the largest and most heavily armed and armored behemoths possible: bigger ships tended to be much more powerful and capable of transporting far more troops and starships than an equivalent mass of frigates. He holstered the datapad as he passed through a security foyer to enter one of the ambassadorial suite's conference rooms. It was a rectangular room decorated in subdued shades of the Commenor System Alliance's flag. Gir found the scheme mildly distracting at first after spending so much time in drab and plain military briefing rooms. Yet he did not doubt that between it and the holo-projectors, it would be a far more pleasant environment for negotiations. He tapped a button on his datapad, causing holo-projectors embedded in the ceiling to project scenic images of Commenor's Chasin City onto the wall. While the room wasn't small, the projections did seem to make it feel more expansive, as if he could stand up, and walk out into one of the pictured parks. His comlink chimed again, prompting him to tap the activation stud.

"Yes?"

"The Astrid has successfully docked with us. T-3PO will bringing in our guests to you shortly."

"Very good. I will be waiting."

Gir nodded in acknowledgement, despite the fact that no-one else was present. T-3PO was perhaps the least fussy protocol droid that they had on staff. If nothing else, the arriving delegation could experience an uncharacteristic lack of small talk as the silver-plated droid led them into the conference room. He swiped through several screens on his datapad, causing the ambassadorial suite's staff to start preparing refreshments for [member="Amelia Sorenn-Syrush"] and her entourage.
