Sorel Crieff

Ready are you? What know you of ready?
Sorel felt entirely at home on this island and her previous thoughts about this being an idyllic life would not leave her mind. Here there were no politics — either internal or external. No battles to fight — either physical or philosophical and there was time for reflection and study rather than endless meetings and discussions.

One day, Sorel mused, this shall be my life. One day.

And then she went along with Orihime as they were led to a table and whats promised to be a feast. And as tempting as the meat smelled, the prospect of texts and holocrons was an even greater pull.

She could hear her and "texts... holocrons..." Orihime said it and looked at the red haired woman with a small grin appearing on her face as she was able to see what was the feast. Meats, veggies, there were some kinds of breads and fruits that they could all eat. "Yes we have some that have been recovered and brought here, or made from different families that wanted to give their teaching and ideals to the order. As a means o preserve it all, as a way to improve upon what we have here and what we have been teaching each other." She stuck around and was prepared to work on many more of the things but ORihime was sold and getting some food in their bellies before they were going off to explore would be important.

Orihime was sitting there with her interest and all of her attention went to it so she could eat with Sorel whn there were some twi'leks here with them. She could see the blue skinned twi'lek coming forward with two sabers on her hips and her lekku in brown straps. Before all of them were going now when more food was being brought out. She saw some parts here, where she got food and looked at Sorel with a nod of her head taking a bite. It was delicious, more so then she thought it would be now. Even the drink that she had to admit she wasn't liking.. it hadn't turned but it was also something alcoholic that wasn't in her area of taste. Small delicate sips of it to at least not be rude before she washed her mouth with some water that they had brought.

"So what can you tell us about these tombs ont he island that you mentioned Master Jarl?" She was wondering and curious about it, they had a lot of time left as it was becoming noon with the sun high in the sky, the mist was still around the outer areas of the island but no longer near the interior as she could see it. Where she was able to look at more of the island. Seeing places it was bright and covered in green leaves that were large compared to other places. The statues in the distance she could see standing like sentries there where they wanted to. She could also see all of the people here as there were more then she had expected including an older master who was walking down and wore a robe with sashes and pieces.

Despite her fascination with Jedi lore and knowledge, Sorel had to admit she was hungry and tested the various foods that tasted homely and at the same time delicious. The breads were especially tasty, with each having a distinct flavour of spices or herbs.

She saw Orihime sipping at the drink they’d been offered, so she was wary as she put the liquid to her own lips. It was no doubt an acquired taste and was definitely alcoholic — but she at least could take sips without offending and she found the more she drank, the more palatable the taste was.

And then she listened to Master Jarl as she began to explain all about the tombs.

Orihime was looking at her and offering a small nod. The food and drink was good, there were some fo the other children that were around eating as well. she drifted off while the jedi master was speaking with some of the children and thjere was a small baby being brought around the table. Passed among all of them where they could see and play with her as well as a couple f the others. She was seeing a community here. Jarl spoke as she was joined by the older master who sat down in his robes. "Is everything fine?" The older man looked with a chuckle. "Oh yes, we made sure they had their lessons and the tomb has been cleaned out. The next set of trials can be in a month if your students continue with their teachings." He said it and Orihie was there with a small look though seeing Sorel before she turned to look at them. "Is there anyway that we might be able to go into the tombs and explore?"There was a small look. "I don't see why not, the tombs and caves are meant to test the young and serve as trial locations."

Sorel once more smiled at the mention of trials. It was an old tradition that seemed to have been lost in the passing of time and Sorel wondered if it were something she should champion bringing back to part of a Jedi’s development. And what better way to see what might be appropriate than to undertake some of the trials herself. It seemed Orihime was on a similar wavelength and Sorel was pleased.

“I’d like that very much,” she said, “Tests come in many guises and present a challenge regardless of age and rank. I’m sure we would learn a lot from entering the tombs.”

Orihime was looking at her and she had something for herself now, where they were working on here. Jarl showed them the way up the mountain towards some fo the jungle she could see there. "You can go there to look for yourself and try it out. The tomb goes to the northern side of the island where they are and lets you test yourself with some fo the other creatures that have been brought. The fence inside responds to force users and opens when you use the force on it so they can't just get through it and come here." Orihime gave a small nod of her head understanding and the idea of going on trials to test herself was an important thing. "I am for it, lets go and have some fun."

Sorel smiled as they reached the point when Jarl was going to let them go ahead alone. Everyone had a different idea on what fun was. Orihime and Sorel were similar in this regard — being tested was what they lived for. Not a needless lack of care and desire to risk all for no reason, but a genuine desire to be pushed to their limits — to both know what they were and to then be able to push their own boundaries.

“I’m with you,” she responded to Orihime, having bid her farewell to Jarl. “Let’s see what the island has to offer and what we can learn.”

Orihime was ready as they were getting led off and up to the mountains. It wasn't a dark and twisting path. Easily seen in the light it was just very different and kind of quiet as the statues that were around them appeared. Different ones that looked like jedi water stations and temple guards. Older constructs she knew how to get past but they weren't a threat to jedi unless you really messed up and the system was armed... then they really knew how to upset others. "This is a different area." She said it whent he sight came into ciew for her to see and Sorel to follow before she stopped looking down.

"This must be something nice for others to have.. a chance to calm your mind and center yourself before going into any tests." She was curious while thinking about it but the doors into the pathway inside. Some stone slabs that moved when she approached and sent small vibrations through the ground giving the jedi herself a better idea. Torches flickering to life to illuminate the way into the cave while it was winding around and she could smell the scents from the other side of the island with fruit and different scents like the more dangerous creatures that would attack and kill each other.
