Imperial Warlords-Interest Check

Not that the First Order's moral status is particularly relevant to this thread, but, regardless, the First Order as it has been established here through hard work and activity, is not a strictly evil, monstrous doom-bringing space nation. Whatever [member="Aram Kalast"]'s intentions were are inconsequential considering the work [member="Natasi Fortan"], [member="Rolf Amsel"], and Company, have been implementing over the months and longer.

Just because one person, former founder they may be, wants the First Order to be the great evil, and can't fathom them not being so, doesn't mean much to the First Order as it stands here. Ever since Eriadu, which the First Order has attempted to atone for over time - including by assisting in the destruction of a galaxy-threatening super-weapon (but that doesn't matter, because Eriadu!).

We're attempting to create within the First Order a faction that has a rich and well developed character, and is not a one dimensional stand-in for 'good factions' to to use as their nameless enemy. We're a faction of writers dedicating our free time to being more than just cliche villain tropes. To pretend we're otherwise is, frankly, disrespectful.

My apologies, but if you wanted us to be the great evil scourge of this site, you should have committed to lead us down that path. We've chosen a different path, however.

Back to you and your Imperial Warlords concept! I still think it has a neat, and interesting place if you choose to move forward with it, [member="Halcon Xelio"]!

I think what everyone fails to realize, or chooses not to remember, is that the Empire by and large was not viewed as evil. The Galactic Empire brought stability to many worlds and in truth let many of them rule themselves with little policing on the part of the Empire. Sure, the Empire interfered but only when it promoted stability or where they needed to in order to feed their war machine. Hell, many people willingly joined the Empire for the stability it offered both physically and economically.

That being said, if you don't like where the Faction went then maybe stick around, contribute, and drive it to where you want it to go rather than bail, or complain about what a faction is doing because it's not "Evil" enough.

As far as the Imperial Warlords, it could be done, maybe spawning from somewhere in the core. A few months back someone tried to kickstart the "Warlords of the Core" though that was significantly less Imperial in nature. As far as being more "Evil" than any of the other factions, it would be interesting to see what form that takes. Chaotic leveling of cities? Outright assaulting "Light Siders" as revenge for perceived injustices, a failed system held at fault for tragedy? I think a significantly less moral/ morally ambiguous faction could certainly gain traction if given the right attention and circumstances.
