Who are the Imperial Praetorian Knights?
- Warriors: The Praetorian Knights are a sworn brotherhood of Force wielders, devoted absolutely to the ideals of order, stability and justice.
- Soldiers: They are not a separate entity or religious, but lawful and under the jurisdiction of the First Order Central Command. They can hold a rank in the military together with their Knight rank!
- Justiciars: The Force is a tool, a lightsaber a weapon and they use both to advance their values in the name of the First Order.
- Order: The Praetorian Knights believe in the concept of order and stability through any means necessary. As a military organisation they are not shying away from using violence to bring about this change or maintain it.
- Justice: The laws of the First Order are absolute and there is no second-guessing them by anyone.
- Comradery: The unity and uniformity among the Praetorian Knights is not only an outward signal of cohesion but also to increase their bond between each other. They are brothers and sisters, fighting side by side.
- The Force: The Force is a tool, it is an instrument and a weapon, but it is not their ideology or central to it. The Praetorian Knights value knowledge and sharing of it as well as maintaining each others balance while opposing strictly Light and Dark side views.
- Military: As part of the military structure of the First Order, their primary duty lies with the army and fleet, fighting in the frontlines and even leading troops into battle.
- Investigation: Yet their duties reach beyond that and they stand as investigator, judge and executioner to those who seek to undermine the regime of the Supreme Leader.
- Protection: Not only protecting the ideals of the First Order but also the First Order and its officials, the Praetorian Knights, as the name suggests, protect high value commanders and politicians.
Miscellaneous
- Recruitment: Force Sensitives in the First Order are generally conscripted and then brought to a Knight School where they are trained in lightsaber combat, Force combat, warfare and investigation. Further training can happen and they are readily accepting outsiders who come from different backgrounds as long as they are adopting their views and laws.
- Inspiration: Visually the Imperial Knights of the Fel Empire are the core (red armor & white crystals!) but for their ideology and approach to the Force the inspiration was mainly drawn from the Knights of Zakuul and Horizon Guard.
