The Republic Commandos had light shields too, I don't know if we'll have those maybe? You can't do a wrist blaster AND a wrist blade though, they'd use the same slot. I like the idea of making it so there's room for more or less armor depending. it would also make repair work in the field more effective. However, all helmets will have built in comms so troopers can stay in touch, so that's a moot point to include as a tech slot. The holo projector we could have be wrist mounted too, like in the movies, so you'd pick between the wrist blade, blaster, or holo unit which could also be used for 3-D tactical displays.

As for tech slots what I think would be better are like equipment slots for lugging around an E-Web on your person, or signal/encryption breaker to get through jamming of communications. What I think you'll really sacrifice practically is speed and versatility in gear for heavy armor/protection with the modular armor.

Which is why we are working on a dev thread. I just don't think it will be as extensive as you believe.

So maybe we should have four tech slots total for the light armor variation, and two for the medium variation, while having only one tech slot for the heavy armor variation? Does this sound reasonable ?

I'm actually thinking something like that. However, there's no logical reason for them not to have the wrist blade at least or the comm unit in the helmets. The tech specs for sure that would need development would be wrist blasters, an encryption array to mount, clippings for heavy weapons, and such. I can't think of six.

Additionally there wouldn't be much reason not to have armor in certain spots too. I think extra armor would include gauntlets which could have the wrist blaster and add protection but remove the knife and holo projector, shoulder cauldrons which removes the encryption array, and extra chest/back plating which removes carrying capability and is extra heavy and slows you more than other armor pieces.

What do you think of that?

I believe extra padding to the gut, chest, and Pauldrons would be good for the upper body, but I also think we should have hip plating, and thigh plating as well, this would slow knee extension and what not, but provide extreme protection, which is the route I would prefer.

As for the toys, I can agree that comm units should be included, other toys that are optional should be the choice of having a wrist blaster, or wrist blade, there should not be both because it would just seem like an overpowered suit of destruction. Next I believe, you have to choose whether you want a heavier helmet with more protection, or a toxic filter. This would make things interesting because one would have to chose whether to have more protection from weapons, or possible toxic gases and environments. I agree with you the holo- projector should have that one feature of analyzing building layouts. This tech slot could go on your helmet slot as being apart of your hud, or on your wrist, again more customization. Another slot should be , added storage space, which can go on ones back, or the sides of the thighs.A weapon holder could also be one that goes only on the back, and is designed for heavy weapons and such. The last one I could think of , is an oxygen unit, allowing for people to work in space environments for up to two standard hours depending on where one decides to place the the oxygen tank . A wrist cable could also become another one were one can simply shoot a cable to climb higher terrain easier, again these are all I can think of, there are many more that pop into my head, I just cant think of them at the moment. Im just not good at submitting stuff in the factory.

A wrist cable would also have to be optional with the Wrist Blade or Blaster and Holo Projector. You could pick 2, but you can't have both. I think it should be limited to 3 variants of armor. I could write all 3 up if that sounds good to you and post them in our factory section in the faction forum?

Because in the end I don't think the armor will be completely modular and swappable, but it could come in these variations and swapped out between missions for the unit. It would be too much work for us to produce and would end up being practically unique rather than minor production.

What do you think of that? I can do them all by tonight at work I think.

Ok I sent you a link for the group's first mission plotting earlier. When would you feel up for it? I was hoping to start in the next few days but I'd like to know how everyone else feels.
