@[member="Dirks Hutchinson"] -- Rebel Fleet

The hangar was relatively deserted at this time at night. Most of the mechanics had gone to bed, the droids powered down for the evening, and the Rebel Fleet was on the move. The mobile base and its very small armament of vessels never stayed in one place for long. Coming straight in from Ceto, Judah didn't realize the time until he had walked in on a sleeping Thessa. With his internal time clock thinking it was the middle of the day, he had retreated back to the solitude of the hangar.

Soon the console panel of Thessa's X-83 was neatly arranged on the cold durasteel of the hangar. Normally Judah would have just waxed down her bird and called it a day. Now he was itching on getting his hands on some more mechanical and fixing it. The X-83 didn't exactly need fixing. Tweaking and modifying was a much better term. Wiping the dirt from his hands onto a pair of oil and greased stained pants, he climbed up, feet in the seat as he crammed his body to where the feet normally rested. Running the new wiring for his latest mods, Judah promptly shocked himself, hitting his head in the narrow space.

"Kriff!"

On the ground, Sparky snorted an electronic beep of laughter.

Dirks couldn't sleep… Hell he could never sleep anymore unless it was by drug induced means. The phantom leg pain drove him nuts, especially if the Rendili was still for too long… like when he was trying to fall asleep in his bunk, alone. So the SpecOps Major decided to take a stroll around the ship while they were traveling in hyperspace, which his journey took him to the hangar bay where the former Rogue felt most at home.

As Hutch walked between the rows of TwinTails sitting proudly on the hangar deck, his mind flashed back to the good times when he did fly and his wing mate was his girl, who now was someone else's girl. It pulled at his heartstrings something fierce to see her with him, and it took all his might not to lay the guy out flat. But somehow, Dirks bit the bullet and let it pass for her sake. After all, he was the one to walk away from their engagement for reasons she'd never know or understand properly.

Hearing the beeps of a familiar astromech droid, the dark-haired Rendili headed over to the last X-83. Ducking underneath the belly of the starfighter, his hand caressing along the smooth surface of the recently waxed fuselage as he did, Dirks was hoping to come across Thee working on her snubfighter, but that wasn't the case… It was the other guy.

Patting Sparky on his dome head in a friendly fashion, Hutchinson climbed up the attached ladder with well-practiced ease to see what all the swearing was about. What he found was hilarious, though not an uncommon predicatment for pilots who did their own mechanical tweaking. "Need a hand there, Dashiell?" he asked in his drawling baritone voice; not condescending, but it probably would be taken that way.

The voice of the one person in the galaxy Judah didn't want to see. It wasn't so much Dirks Hutchinson the man. Judah found it extremely taxing to be friendly to the man who was trying to win back the hand of a certain rebellious mermaid. However there may be certain advantages to being friendly to the freshly returned soldier. Advantages he could always use later on. Be relatively nice to the ex and pick up brownie points along the way.

Yet he wasn't stupid. If the roles were reversed he would be trying every trick up his sleeve to get Thessa back. No doubt the soldier was looking to do the same.

"I suppose"

Judah tossed back a length of electrical wiring to be ran back into the astromech socket.

"Burning the midnight oil?"

"Sleep doesn't come easy these days… Seems you and me have more in common than we thought," Dirks answered, grabbing the electrical wire tossed his way.

The Rendili stepped up one more wrung on the ladder and swung a long leg over into the cockpit so he could straddle the edge of the fuselage. His booted foot touched the salvager's leg in the process. "Don't get too excited there, Dashiell. No worries, man… You are definitely not my type," Hutch smirked, then asked a question that he had been wanting to ask for a long time's as the former flyboy started to thread the wire back behind the pilot's couch.

"So how's Thee doing these days… Really?"

Ignoring most of Dirks banter, Judah managed to crawl out from the footrest area of the X-83. Wires were poking up now through the stripped down control panel, sectioned off neatly. He stared at the clean-shaved man for a moment, debating. Judah wasn't sure how much to say. To anyone who had known Thessa for a period of time would have been able to tell something wasn't quite right.

"She has been better. Had a incident when she went to save her family on Gala. Only managed to bring her parents back. Ever since then this....sadistic low life has been bothering her. Got a bounty out on the guy. I know she wont rest until this guy is dead."

Shaking his head, Judah started to strip the ends of the wires.

"Other than that, Thessa is amazing. As always."
