I'm new here!

Walking myth, warning label, and mild HR violation
Hey Welcome!

Soldier, huh? I cut my RP teeth on playing a soldier, love the dynamic.

If you want to get your feet wet and learn the site(the inside and outside) your best bet is joining a "Major Faction". We have several.

If you want to play a Mandalorian, we have the Mandalorian Empire and the Iron Covenant.
The ME is (I like to think) very SWTOR style, you can contact Aether Verd Aether Verd and he'll probably set me straight, haha.

I personally love the dynamic of the Iron Covenant. They're not "homeless" but a roving fleet style, they have the more "KOTOR" style to Mandos. (They don't like the Empire either). Vren Rook Vren Rook is a contact for there.

If you want to be a "Bad guy" a Sith Trooper, you have either the "Sith Covenant" ( Arris Windrun Arris Windrun ) or the Sith Order ( Gerwald Lechner Gerwald Lechner would be a contact? Or Quinn Varanin Quinn Varanin )

If you want to be a Republic soldier, there is the High Republic. Lorn Reingard Lorn Reingard has the reigns there

No matter where you go, WELCOME!!

There are more smaller factions you can join, but these groups are the best to help you learn your way around the place. It can be a little intimidating but it's really enjoyable, and a great bunch of people. Even that "Vanagor" guy....

... Wait?

I'm not wholly familiar with SWTOR but I do know the Mandalorian Empire. We have Mandalorians of all stripes, and all are welcome. In the wake of the Planeshift, Aether Verd has issued a recall to all Mandalorians and declared Cin Vhetin so that those who were Dar'manda are dar'manda no longer. We've got our own Force tradition, the Iron Wolves; space police/investigators, the Protectors; spies and sneaky types with the Nite Owls; more traditional mercs with Death Watch; and most recently, shady types and criminals with Crimson Dawn. And not everyone has to be a Mandalorian to write with us—we hire some freelance mercenaries and there's a second creed to swear by to be a Mandalorian citizen without swearing the Resol'nare.

There's no wrong way to write a Mandalorian with us, if that fits your vibe.
