- Gas Cycling Mechanism: Prevents misfires by requiring the cycling mechanism to be manually engaged after a new power pack is inserted.
- Barrel Recoil Slider: Allows the barrel to shift backward slightly when firing, absorbing a portion of recoil and improving control.
- Textured Agrinium Grip: Provides a secure, non-slip surface for the wielder in a variety of environmental conditions.
- Cautionary Pulser: Emits a short vibration through the grip when the weapon is nearing depletion of its energy supply.
- Reusable Power Pack: Designed for multiple uses with recharge capability for both gas and energy inputs.
- Durable Construction: Built with rugged alloys to endure harsh conditions and consistent use without degradation.
- High Damage Output: Capable of inflicting significant energy-based trauma against both armored and unarmored targets.
- Reliable Handling: Balanced for one-handed use with reduced recoil and dependable firing sequence.
- Reduced Firing Rate: Slower than average due to the integrated gas cycling and recoil management systems.
- No Accessory Support: Lacks external rails or mount points for common modular attachments.
- Manual Reset Required: Must be cycled manually when replacing power sources, introducing the possibility of user error.
The RA-71 is a compact energy sidearm engineered for reliability and control. It incorporates a blend of mechanical and energy-based systems, using standard power packs and any form of compatible blaster gas thanks to its integrated conversion chamber. Each shot is stabilized through a gas cycling mechanism and supported by a recoil-mitigating barrel slide.
Constructed with durable, lightweight materials, the RA-71 can perform in a range of environmental conditions. The grip is made from textured Agrinium, offering improved ergonomics and user control, and a small internal pulser provides low-ammo feedback.
The weapon is not designed for customization but instead focuses on consistent performance, ease of maintenance, and survivability in the field. Its reliability, simplicity, and straightforward operation make it well-suited for personnel who require a sidearm that can perform under pressure without unnecessary complexity.
