Private Ignorance is Bliss

"Still not convinced this isn't for your back ally holo porn," she murmured under her breath, pocketing the card and nudging her chin to the right. She had studied the space port plans, more prepared than them apparently. Quick steps and a purposeful stride guided them right, then left, then through a small alleyway between buildings. Despite her obvious nerves, she moved confidently enough. It was all in the act, right?

She side-stepped and shuffled her way through, spilling out into a private court yard of sorts between buildings. Nestled in the center was a socket, for easy information access. She swore a bit of light broke through the clouds at that moment, hitting the column. Maybe that was just her mind. It was a brilliant location, actually, out of sight and between two doors. The only way they'd be noticed was if someone came out to use the cross way for the building next store. It wasn't fool proof, but it was something.

And that was her job-- to provide an edge that got them what they needed.

She scattered towards it, her finger nails digging into a plate and tearing it off. Wires tumbled out, exposed. She pulled them out further and started chopping at them.

"We're more than happy to share, although probably something a bit more vanilla for you. Don't think you could handle anything else."

As their slicer suspected, Delila did not study the spaceport layout meticulously. Herself and Xin had landed there and poked around before their cargo was stolen. Perhaps she had put too much trust into the slicer. Perhaps Dells was planning poking around and just naturally finding these sockets - they weren't something she paid attention to.

"Xin stand in front of the other door."

Part of her was tempted to blast out the controls for her door but decided against it. The slicer had mentioned something about not killing people (a disappointment honestly) so Delila would do her best to keep her blaster holstered as long as possible. Apparently this would be something that required a touch of stealth, patience and quiet. A bit overrated if you asked her.

Xin felt the tension build as every moment passed. It didn't help that he was still struggling after getting shot to pieces in an altercation with a pair of duros crime lords. He told himself he was ready for this, but he wouldn't know until things went wrong.

If they went wrong, he lied to himself.

His headtails have him an empathic sense. He had a latest Force sensitivity too, which he refused to acknowledge. The slicer was hiding nerves, but she was focused on her work as she started. Delila was her usual island of calm determination.

"We still need to make the zero-g video," he whispered, watching the exits carefully. Trying to put off the slicer wasn't the best idea, but it was a distraction as the time ticked away.

Serya's attention left the board for a flickering second, leveling on the green figure with no small amount of skepticism. "...How do you even-" her gaze tore down to his crotch line, then to his red-headed, very human companion.

"Never mind," she grumbled, turning her attention back to the panel with more focus than was needed. She held her pliers between her teeth, quick motions used to strip and twist cords together with her bare hands. Spark flew, she grimaced and gave the mess one final twist.

"There." She gasped, letting the pliers drop to the ground as she stood and regarded the console controls. She was clearly getting somewhere, a device plugged into the console as she flickered through the menu. And then the door wooshed open.

A dock worker stopped short, confusion twisting his features as he regarded the scene. "...GUARDS!" He hollered over his shoulder.

Great.

Green eyed gaze leveled with Xin, as if to silently asked how he had found the slicer they were currently working with. She had been busy and left the task up to the Nautolan but Dells was wondering now if it was a mistake. It seemed they - correction, Xin - had picked the most nervous, green and skeptical slicer she ever had the pleasure of meeting.

"Its not that hard to imagine." Delila was honestly trying not to be amused by the slicers assessment. "I can introd-"

The doors opened with an overly loud dock worker on the other end. Blaster emerged from her thigh holster and a shot was fired off immediately to the overly loud guard worker. Only it wasn't a stun shot. Wait...was she supposed to have blasters on stun? She had no idea why blasters even had the feature, seemed quite pointless to her.

"Lets get moving before the guards arrive."

"Do you have the data?" Xin called out to the slicer. He could feel his nerves rising at the blaster shot but kept it pressed down. He had been in so many shoot outs in his life.

Only the last one had left him in a hospital bed for a month.

If they needed to buy the slicer more time then that was what they would do. They couldn't keep paying. A dock like this had enough guards to overwhelm them before long.

Xin rushed to the door the man had come through, shooting out the controls to temporarily seal it shut.

Seyra's nerves went through the rough, her shoulders rising to her ears and she gave the keypad a few more intense jabs. "Come on, come on-" She glanced once to the side, unable to stop herself from glancing to the body that had dropped. Wait. Was that blood? Her eyes widen, her thoughts shutting down before she could let them follow the trail to what it meant. Think now, survive later.

The console beeped. She yanked her device out and went scattering back towards the small alleyway they had squeezed to. "Is he okay?" She uttered quickly to Dells. Heavy concern lingered in her gaze, her attention on prone body as she passed.

"Uh...yeah, he's going to be fine. Let's get moving, come on."

Fine if he gets medical attention in the next few minutes.

Hand came and clamped firmly down on the slicers shoulder. Delila could tell she was the type to freeze - probably didn't have experience with people getting shot.Dells pushed the slicer forward, trying to move quick enough before the guards came. They needed to get at a point where they would look more casual and unsuspecting. Hard to do with their mixed group but it could be done.

"Just keep moving forward, look natural. Don't panic when the guards come and look like you belong. Get offended if you have to."

Always a trick to have : be offended. People tended to get flustered in such adversity. Xin had their back and she hoped he was doing his best to look imposing. Hand unclamped from the slicers shoulder and went to her hand, holding it as if they were a couple. Less suspicious the better. Might draw a few looks but not the type of 'just killed someone' look.

"Look natural" Dells had moved close to the slicers ear to whisper, moving her head back with an easy grin and a swing of their arms together. Natural.

Xin was trying not to panic. He was more controlled than he hoped because whilst he was tethering on that precipice he had not fallen from it. The nautolan was still getting accustomed to blaster fire. Maybe it would never be easy again.

As soon as Dells led them back into the main areas of the spaceport the chance of getting in a shootout dropped right now. Instead his challenge was to try and look natural when his guts were trying to tie knota around his neck.

Soon they were in a loose crowd again. He kept a few paces behind Dells and the slicer.

"Looking interesting ahead," he hissed. Several guards were coming in the opposite directions, walking against the flow of people out of the port.
