Character IG-100-47 (The Iron Ronin)

IG-100-47

Alias:
The Iron Ronin

Age: Approximately 900 years old (50 years active since reactivation)

Species: IG-100 MagnaGuard Droid

Gender: None

Height: 2.2 metres

Weight: 180 kilograms

Force Sensitive: No

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION
A weathered IG-100 MagnaGuard chassis concealed beneath dark travel robes and a broad kasa hat.
The droid's frame bears the scars of age, combat, and countless field repairs. Much of the original armor has been replaced or reinforced over the centuries, giving his body a patchwork appearance upon close inspection. Twin crimson photoreceptors glow beneath the shadow of his hat, often the only visible indication that the traveler beneath the cloak is not organic.
A vibro-katana rests at his side while a pair of heavy blaster pistols remain hidden beneath his robes. Despite his age, his movements remain precise and deliberate, carrying an unsettling grace that belies his imposing frame.

Many mistake him for a wandering mercenary.

Most only realize the truth when they see the metal beneath the cloak.

INVENTORY
  • Dual Heavy Blaster Pistols
  • Vibro-Katana
  • Weatherproof Travel Cloak
  • Kasa Hat
  • Repair and Maintenance Tools
  • Spare Droid Components
  • Datapad containing contracts, navigation records, and fragmented historical archives

PERSONALITY AND BELIEFS
IG-100-47 is quiet, observant, and patient.
He rarely speaks unless necessary and prefers to listen rather than participate in conversation. Unlike many droids, he places significant value on personal autonomy and has little interest in serving masters, governments, or causes.
The Iron Ronin believes that a contract accepted should be a contract fulfilled. His word is one of the few things he considers truly valuable.
Though fully capable of violence, he does not seek it. Combat is a tool, not a purpose.

Many mistake his silence for wisdom. The droid has never felt compelled to correct them.

STRENGTHS

MagnaGuard Combat Chassis

Built as an elite Separatist bodyguard, IG-100-47 possesses impressive strength, durability, agility, and reaction speed compared to most organic beings.

Experienced Combatant
Decades of contract work and fragments of Clone Wars programming have made him highly proficient with both blaster pistols and blade combat.

Self-Sufficient
The Iron Ronin is capable of maintaining, repairing, and modifying much of his own equipment and chassis.

Patient
He rarely acts impulsively and is willing to wait for the right opportunity rather than force a confrontation.

WEAKNESSES

Fragmented Memory

Centuries of inactivity and degradation have left large portions of his memory corrupted or inaccessible. Much of his past remains a mystery even to him.

Obsolete Frame
Though heavily maintained, the foundation of his chassis belongs to a bygone era. Replacement parts are increasingly rare and often require modification to function.

Social Disconnect
The Iron Ronin often struggles to understand the emotions and motivations of organic beings, leading to misunderstandings and poor social interactions.

Unwanted Attention
A functioning MagnaGuard is an extraordinary rarity. Collectors, historians, scavengers, governments, and criminals alike may take an unhealthy interest in acquiring him.

HISTORY
IG-100-47 was manufactured during the Clone Wars as one of countless MagnaGuard units serving the Confederacy of Independent Systems.

His memories of that era are fragmented. He remembers war. He remembers Jedi. He remembers battlefields stained with fire and metal. Beyond those scattered fragments, most of his original records have been lost to age and damage.

Following the end of the Clone Wars, the droid was disabled and forgotten.
For centuries he remained dormant.

Approximately fifty years ago, a scavenger crew discovered the inactive MagnaGuard amidst the ruins of an ancient battlefield. Hoping to dismantle the relic for valuable components, they restored partial power to the unit.
Emergency systems activated.
Ancient self-preservation protocols responded.
The scavengers expected scrap.
Instead they awakened a MagnaGuard.

The encounter ended violently.

When authorities eventually arrived, the scavengers were dead and the droid had vanished.

Awakening in a galaxy that had long since moved beyond the wars he remembered, IG-100-47 found himself without purpose, masters, or allegiance. The Confederacy existed only in historical records. The civilizations he once knew had become legends.

Over the following decades he survived as a contract hunter, bodyguard, tracker, escort, investigator, and hired gun. Each contract paid for repairs, fuel, and the continuation of his journey.

Somewhere along the way, others began referring to him as the Iron Ronin.

The designation IG-100-47 remains his official identity.
The Iron Ronin is simply what the galaxy calls him.
