Description: Designed in the wedge-shape common to Imperial vessels, the Striker is created as a capital-ship killer. It typically works in tandem with heavier frigates, using their shields for cover before popping out and letting loose at a heavier vessel. One squadron of Lightnings or a half-squadron of Hurrikanes provides additional strike force. The frigate can also double as anti-fighter defense for larger ships.
Seeing the need for a new heavy-hitting escort frigate to accompany TNO Special Operations units, Colonel Vos suggested elements of a design to Imperium Forge Works, and they came up with the Striker. Starting with the wedge shape so useful for the First Galactic Empire, and many empires since, they tried to fit what was needed into Colonel Vos's 250 meter suggested size. However, after doing everything they could to maximize every centimeter of space, they increased the size of the vessel to 300 meters and dropped Vos's suggested twelve-fighter hangar, instead only allowing a single external docking ring. In exchange, they managed to cram the vessel with heavy weaponry, sacrificing most defenses and a good deal of speed and maneuverability to make this frigate a one-punch wonder. With heavy turbolasers, proton torpedo tubes, and good point defense, the frigate can hammer an enemy capital ship while keeping fighters at bay.
