Yareth
Yareth came down the ramp after her crew. It was not because she was cautious, but because she liked taking the time to savour the view of a world realising it had been cracked open by a predator. The Squall-Fang had bitten a Path-scar through Ifron's sky and set down hard. Heat and smoke rolled in with the screaming. She breathed it like perfume.
Six and a half feet of pale Evereni in black raid-plate, white braid over one shoulder, magenta eyes bare because she had not yet put the mask up. The red claw at her left hand flexed once, idle, tasting the air. Her Clouds* were already rushing down the street, taking what could be carried.
Hatred was easy to find. The little witch beside him was easier still, all painted face and violet work spinning out through the ruin. Yareth's mouth curved. It was a pleasant expression. It did not belong on a sacked street.
"Oh, and maybe a cup of stim, I heard this place has a great stim shop."
"Do they have good caf here? I will have to try it."
"Good morning," she said, as if they had arrived at a reception and not a city coming apart. The vowels were clipped and ruinously clean. "I do hope I am not terribly late. One does so hate to miss the opening course. Tea would be lovely, but I think I shall indulge for a while."
No one had invited her.
"Yareth. Of the Squall-Fang. We heard there was a king who required collecting." Her gaze lingered on Tegan's weaving with open interest.
"Would someone be a darling and point me towards this palace? Or the nearest bar. I find I work so much better after something decent to drink."
Raising both hands towards her back, Tavra removed the elongated two-handed sword out of it's scabbard and held it aloft in the air as a man gave her his word.
A scream cut short two streets over. Yareth only adjusted her braid, as though the blood on the stones were a spilled napkin. She pulled a mask across her face and drew a wickedly curved blade.
"Shall we?"
