I Will Teach You Fear

Valkyrie stood within the rafters of a large high ceiling room on some orbital station over some useless Lords of the Fringe world. Her listless eyes and face were covered by her helmet, her body by an iron-skin body suit and several plates of soft armor. On her thigh was located a section of pockets and containers, holding blades and her lightsabers. Over that, magnetically clasped was her stun gun, the weapon she would use to finish her target.

Her body language spoke of cold and relaxed fury, like a Kath Hound waiting to pounce on its next meal. Within the rafters nobody noticed her, it was surprising how little people actually looked up.

She had come here for a simple reason, a man named Valik. A Sith Lord of some repute, one somewhat known for making Powerful Sith Artifacts, or so she had learned upon asking a few subtle questions. Valkyrie had first seen the man on O'reen, and it was there that he had caught her attention. After that battle she had begun her hunt, she had used her considerable skills in tracking and psychometry to back trace his path through several Fringe Worlds, something that had taken weeks.

Why had she come for him? That was simple to her mind. She had seen how the so called Lords of the Fringe had acted, how the Sith Had acted, how they sauntered and swaggered about. How they looked as though they controlled the galaxy. They considered this world and others their playgrounds, and anyone else in the playground was merely their toy. They walked this galaxy holding no fears, feeling no terror.

Valkyrie would change that.

Now however she stood poised to strike, having received reliable word of sightings of the man on this orbital. The Force prodded at her slightly, as if pushing her to get ready.

Valik was coming, and she would ensnare him.

She would teach him fear.

Valik

Unbeknownst to "Valkyrie" Valik already held quite a but of fear inside. He was a dangerous man who built dangerous things and that naturally made him have lots of enemies. Most of them were incompetent nitwads, but some, like Valkyrie, were a threat to his safety, a threat to his work, and the thought of his mission for technological supremacy being interrupted was terrifying, not to mention the whole death thing.

That being said, Valik was oddly more at ease that normal, traveling some nameless former Atrisian, now Fringe space station in hopes of finding more information on Atrisian resources to see if he could find anything worth utilizing from their new companions. Thus far he had found nothing but a need for documenting everything, a paranoid trait he respected, despite its annoyances. Thus, as he felt he was constantly being watched, he didn't use Sith Alchemy to alter his appearance, wearing his normal face along with simple clothing, the only 'armor' being a breath mask in his pocket in case of a hull breach and a Force Disperser, a Sith amulet that his his presence in the Force, a habit of his to carry. After all he was supposedly on home turf, should be no need for armor right?

Wrong, though he'd not figure that out for a short little while. For now he walked around a sparsely populated hall, heading to whatever archives this space station managed to have. It wasn't the perfect place for an ambush, but with the skinny and cramped hallways it was a better option than most for an ambush, especially for forcing someone into close combat.

As soon as she saw Valik her entire body tensed. Her eyes grew hard and her face became a wall of stone. She let him pass, she let him walk beneath her, and then with only the slightest tick of noise she drew her Stun Blaster. For a split second she closed her eyes, as if psyching herself up. She let out the tiniest sigh, and then dropped from the rafters of the hall. She landed on the ground with a slight clack and thud.

Almost immediately she raised herself up out of the crouch and turned to face the Mad Scientist. She aimed her Blaster, and then pulled the trigger three times.

There was no question of surrender, no asking him to lay down his weapons, nothing. There was simply a thud, a clack of metallic boots, and then the sound of three sharp zaps as the Morp Gun fired. Each of the stuns was set to take down a man of Valik's size...actually a little more, One would put him out for an hour, two for half a day, and a third...well a third would likely give him a heart attack.

Truthfully Valkyrie expected none of them to hit, but it was a good fast opener.

Before the three stun bolts neared Valik however Valkyrie made her second move. From a holster in her thigh The Hunter drew a straight blueish lightsaber hilt, the cylinder slapping into her hand and igniting with a purple light. Then she dashed forward, not moving her feet but instead allowing the thrust of her rocket boots and jetpack drive her forward, small blue exhaust appearing as tiny wings as she slashed towards Valik's legs in a powerful sweep.

Valik heard a loud clash of metal on metal, turning to find a woman clad in orange and silver armor, leaving no trace of identity other than obvious femininity. There were no words, no discussion, just the raising of a blaster and firing three shots. The first just barely grazed his left leg, leaving it a bit numb, while the other two were easily deflected by his lightsaber.

There was a panic in the small amount of civilians in the area, the men each fleeing but holding up their communicators to take quick holo-pics. Modern journalism at it's finest. Valik however, had been in combat before, and was able to easily sort out the screams and the motions of the assailant, seeing her ignite a violet saber and blue exhaust emitting from her jetpack like wings. Valik smiled, this was too easy.

With two exhaust trails the location of the woman's jetpack was fairly easy to determine. Reaching his free-hand out as she closed the distance he clenched his fist, and a vice-grip of kinetic wrapped around to crush the woman's jet pack. Ideally it would explode, as the fuel was shown to be flammable from the exhaust, and the force would kill the woman, but anyone skilled enough to find him and track him likely wouldn't fold so easily. In any case and injury to her maneuverability was helpful, with his own being hindered by his limp leg.

Once his motion was done he put his freehand to his saber, and braced himself to block, whether a bolt came or she managed to still come at him with her violet blade. This woman moved with purpose, and as such he doubted she would let up unless she was physically unable to, or Valik was incarcerated . . . or dead.

Diana twisted slightly as she felt the force wrap around her. It was nothing really, a simple twist and a slight outward burst of the force that threw off his telekinetic crush. It was enough however to stop the jetpack from exploding entirely. Instead she heard a soft crack and click as the firing mechanism of the machine was broken into pieces. She frowned slightly and made a mental note to stop that from happening in the future.

As the Jetpack shut off Diana struck the ground with her feet, but she did not stop running.

If anything she pressed on further, her strike becoming a blur. Her indigo lightsaber struck his, sparks flying slightly as the two blades met. Then almost immediately after they struck Diana swept her leg forward, throwing her shin towards the mans ankles and hoping to sweep his legs out from under him.

At the same time she brought up her blaster, firing the stun weapon once more.

Her attacks were fast and relentless and came one after another.

His crush did not create the explosion the explosion he had hoped for, but had rendered the jetpack defunct, forcing her to run on foot, which was enough for him. Took down her speed considerably without rocket propulsion by forcing her to run in armor. Even as such the woman was devilishly fast. Her first blow was blocked merely by him knowing it was coming, but the second strike came almost like a blur, the less physically apt Valik only barely blocking the strike at his shins in time. If she wasn't wearing armor he'd likely be down a foot right about now.

As quickly as he could manage with a limp leg he scuttled to the side and grabbed her saber-arm as she aimed her shot. From there he didn't put her in some weird hold, or channel electricity, but instead used the contact with her armor to travel into it's past, attempting to discern it's construction for weaknesses, as well as the person who put it on last.

A smirk came to his face as he learned what he wished, but was quickly stopped by a blast of her morp gun to his shoulder, rendering it limp like his leg. That was his saber arm, quite troubling for such close combat. He needed to get out.

Pushing his non-saber arm forward and releasing his grip he threw a Force Push, not forward, but backwards, hurtling himself away from the woman and giving some much needed distance. As he flew backwards he squeezed his palm, attempting to crush her oxygen tank, as he knew threw psychometry the tank was environmentally sealed.

The tank was crushed, and Valkyries eyes bulged open beneath the helmet. For a second she struggled for air causing her to drop her pistol to the ground in a sudden shock. Before she could completely asphyxiate however She tore a small set of tubes out from the bottom of her helmet, air rushing into her head as she took in a deep breath. She frowned slightly, the thrum of her lightsaber piercing better into her ears now with the holes in her helmet.

Turning slowly towards the Sith she looked at him. He was a few steps away now and heavy breaths came from her lungs. The oxygen had been pushed slightly into her head, and she felt woozy as she took a step towards the man.

Suddenly she moved again, slower because of the armor but still faster than any normal being had a right to.

Her lightsaber flashed forward, once again reaching out in a quick slash towards his legs. Before it could reach them however Valkyrie seemed to back peddle, stopping her own blade and instead reaching out with the force. She tried to grapple his legs and pull them out from beneath him with a quick jerk of her arm.

Telekinetic's wasn't her strong point, but she hoped the surprise would overcome that.

Valik

Professor of Alchemy
Valik took his non-limp hand to put on his breathing filter/mask apparatus thing as Valkyrie dropped her pistol for a second and messed with her helmet, allowing her to breath. While she slowly turned towards him he reached out with the Force and Telekinetically crushed the Morp Gun on the ground, rendering it unusable. He could have taken it and shot at her, but he wagered she had paid more attention to the art of the blade than he, and a few inaccurate shots with his offhand or his limp hand would do him no good, so it was better to make sure the weapon couldn't be used by her at least.

As she came to him he put his offhand on his saber arm, and put in a small jolt of Sith Lightning, and attempt to wake up his numb arm through a little pain. It was mostly ineffective, he gained slight mobility with it, but couldn't put any strength behind his blows or blocks. Not an issue with a normal cauterizing blade strike, but an issue if she had lightsaber resistant armor or his only option was a saber block. She then slashed at his legs, his time being up. Valik was not quick enough to block the blow with his mostly defunct saber arm, so he didn't try, lucky it was a feint, instead bringing the palm of his saber-arm up to her face, and emitting a aerosolized Sith Poison from his concealed wrist launcher. His legs flew out from under him, him tripping backwards from the telekinetic force he didn't attempt to resist, but as he went down he took his non-saber hand and poured out all of the Sith Lightning he could manage, to try and cause a physical reaction. Killing her or incapacitating her or damaging her were secondary, he wished only to force her to breath, by taking a reaction of a scream or by it simply being too painful to hold one's breath. He landed on the ground on his back with a thud, and slowly took the saber and attempted to thrust it forward for a stab, hopefully giving her more pain to react to, or perhaps even a battle ending blow in itself.

Valkyrie reacted out of pure instinct this time. The poison splashed around her face and threatened to enter her helmet almost too quickly. The aerosol pressed towards her nostrils and threatened to infect her. A sort of panic entered her, her heart beating faster and faster and her mind going into fight or flight mode. She summoned the force, and for the first time she spoke.

“No!” It was not just a vocalization of a word, but instead was more of a below. As she spoke a powerful wave of the force erupted from her mind. Not strong enough to break her helmet, but powerful enough to cause a sort of...pressure wave. The wave ran through and around her head, eventually finding the only opening at the bottom of her helmet, expelling the Sith Poison gas. The wave went outward and dispersed the poison.

She breathed a sigh of relief, though it was too soon for that. Blue crackling lightning found her and jumped across her entire body. She let out a loud hoarse scream, as though the feeling of the lightning was familiar to her.

The Hunter dropped to her knee's in pain, barely registering the lightsaber coming towards and batting it away at the last minute. The tip of the red blade however bit into her, cutting into the iron-skin armor and then into her flesh.

Her eyes bulged open, and she almost went into shock right then and there. Determination however flew over her, and with her now free right hand Valkyrie made a fist. A six inch long punch blade drew itself forth from her gauntlet, and with only a slight push The Hunter plunged the blade down towards Valik's rib's. Not a kill shot, but something that would injure him quite a bit.

Valik was displeased as the bounty hunter managed to expel his poison, though he managed a good strike of lightning and put up a good slash somewhere into her body. She let out a good scream, and he made note that if the two were to escape he'd have to look around for security footage, see if he could match the scream to find out the identity of the assailant. That was of course, assuming he didn't die or was incarcerated and she didn't suffer either circumstance, which was unlikely at this venture, but possible he supposed.

In anycase, the woman attacked him with a seemingly gentle punch, but aided by a small blade concealed within her gauntlet it was quite painful as it entered his ribs, Valik let out a loud, but masculine scream in pain. His limp hand dropped it's saber, before Valik moved it over to quickly grab the girl's stabbidy arm, aided in speed by an application of telekinetically pulling it there. He used the arm as a conduit, unleashing what lightning he must left into the woman's body. It admittedly wasn't an extremely powerful application after the energy he put into his last torrent of lightning, but with a physical connection it would still hurt quite a bit. From there he took his free hand and reached his palm to her face, the distance rather close now, and unleashed a second cloud of Sith Poison. His wrist launcher only had the room for one canister of the aerosol, but that was remedied by him having two wrists. She had taken the poison and expelled it from her helmet before the lightning hit her, he would like to see her try when the lightning was already causing her pain.

This time, she did not let out a scream, she did not let out a yelp, nothing came from her. She had seen this tactic coming, and in truth part of her had hoped for it. Lightning sizzled across her skin once more, her teeth seemed to shine brightly as it crackled across her lips and gums, yet she kept her mouth sealed. Her jaw firmly clenched into place at the point of breaking. Her nose let out a constant steady soft breath to repel the Sith poison and her eyes almost seemed to glaze over.

The Hunter knew that ingesting the Sith Poison would be the end of her. She could not let it get inside of her body, she could not allow it to infect her at any cost. It had nearly happened once before, and even then the temptation had been to great. True she had purged herself of it later, but the pain, the suffering, the temptation had nearly been to great for even her.

She let her left hand go limp, her lightsaber dropping onto the ground almost next to where the mans had fallen. The Hunter slumped forward slightly, reaching towards the man even as her other hand turned and touched his ribs.

With the blade still inside him her movements would still hurt, still as she touched him her palms began to glow.

Both the hand that moved towards her and the one that was already touching him. Force light began to flow from her palms and into the man, one touching him and the other heading towards him. As lightning flew through her body and Sith Poison threatened to asphyxiate her Valkyrie poured all her energy into purging the man of darkness.

Hopefully it would cause him pain, pain enough to cease his incessant fighting.

He should have gone for the stab, rather than the second poison. At least not so soon after the first. In any case, he heard the tapping of metal on the ground. She'd dropped her lightsaber. Fool. He wiggled his hands a bit, summoning the blade to his weakened grip and came to slash at her arms, now both on top of him.

But something . . . glowed. His body riled, the pain was . . . immense. Unlike anything he'd ever felt before. For once he was in enough pain that he could not feel the Force, his mind not being able to concentrate on anything, merely jumping from one sensation of pain to the next. Through sheer will he slashed the violet blade in front of his chest, aiming to sever the two arms, neither of which he held at this point due to his free arm shaking off due to the pain. One the arm had stopped however, he pressed the button to deactivate the blade and it merely dropped, as did the rest of his body. He was not yet unconscious, but he had neither the energy nor the tolerance to continue.

To avoid getting her arms sliced off Valkyrie decided it was best to simply...fall. Before the lightsaber could reach her The Hunter set about tumbling to the side of herself. She fell onto her back with a loud clack of metal, her left hand pulling away from the lightsaber just in time to cause it to graze across the armor plating on her arms. Her right hand however remained in place, and continued to sap the Sith's Strength.

Finally she heard the lightsaber turn off, and the man's arm fall to the floor.

She let out a hard long and tired breath. She mimicked her technique from earlier, letting out a small pulse to expel the Sith Poison. She hoped that the man was done for, she had not the energy to continue

For a second she allowed herself to simply lay on the floor, panting. Her chest rose and fell almost too quickly to see, like a hummingbird breathing. Then finally she rose. With a sharp jerk she pulled the blade out of @[member="Valik"]'s side, blood dripping from it. With slow methodical movements Valkyrie got back to her feet, standing over the Sith Lord.

Several cuts and bruises running across her body chief among them the lightsaber burn standing out across her ribs.

The Hunter looked down at the Sith, seemingly laying there on the edge of life. She stared at him for what seemed the longest time, though in reality it was only a few seconds. Then she jerked forward her leg. She sent a sharp, hard kick towards his face, hopefully knocking him out.

The bounty hunter took her sweet time getting up and starting at him. It was only a few seconds, but for people as skilled in the Force as they time in combat was measured in fractions of seconds. If he had any energy left he'd have been gone right now, bleeding ribs not even mattering to him. Sadly however, he was just attacked with the monstrosity that was Force Light. Such a power didn't leave a lot of room for fighting afterwards, at least not for men as entranced in the dark side as he. Guess that's what happens when your primary business is making unnatural weapons to cause mass destruction.

As such when the bounty hunter finally thrust her durasteel foot at his head it was still there, unmoved. A slight crunch was heard, at least by Valik, as the man's nose was broken and blood began to spurt down his face as his vision began to leave him.

As Valkyrie looked at the unconscious Sith her blade slowly retracted into her gauntlet. She was injured, but she would recover within the next few minutes. Her attacks all in all had used far less energy than his own, but the rolling waves of pain that crashed over her prevented her from doing much. She bent down, intending on grabbing the man by the collar and dragging him back to her ship. At the same time she picked up her lightsaber from the ground, then she heard a bark of a noise.

“STOP!”

She jerked her head back to see a dozen or so Atrisian guards. She frowned, realizing her mistake. The men pointed their blasters and Valkyrie instantly ignited her lightsaber.

They began to fire at her and she batted away bolt after bolt. Quickly she fell into a retreat, jumping and bounding back a few steps before spotting her pistol on the floor. She called to it with the force, and the weapon slapped into her hand. Then she turned around and began to run, turning to bat away a blaster bolt now and again. Beneath her breath she cursed herself, she had had him, and now he would get away.

With a quick slide she turned down a hallway, finding her ship stored there.

Before they could close the hangar Valkyrie jumped into the blackbird, throwing her pistol behind into the second seat and taking off almost before the canopy could close. The black ship shot forward out of the hangar bay and into the abyss of space, seemingly disappearing in an instant.

Valik would wake up in the space station's infirmary the next day, nose still broken and filled with tissue paper to stop the bleeding. He had two IVs hooked up, one pumping him with Bacta and the other filling him with some sort of anesthetic, as he could barely feel anything right now. His eyes wandered until he spotted a doctor, then he held his hand out and put a vicegrip around the man's throat.

"What have you done to me?" He asked.

"Just . . . Heal"

"Medicine, dosages, treatments, now!" Valik commanded.

"Bacta IV . . . Nullicaine IV . . .Was going to set nose . . . Later."

"Anything else?"

"No." He said, and Valik released his grip.

"The bounty hunter. Where?"

"We don't know. Authorities pursued but she escaped off the station."

"Did you ID the ship."

"No."

"Typical. I'm leaving now." Valik said, before telekinetically ripping out his two IV's. It's probably be really painful if he wasn't drugged right now.

"Sir, you can't-"

"I am." He said, before getting out of the bed and taking some bandage and stopping his arms from bleeding.

"But sir-" He said before Valik waved a hand.

"You are going to destroy all medical evidence that I was here. Records, blood samples and footage. I was never here, and when are done confirming that you will you pathetic life like the worm you are." Valik said, imposing his will unto the doctor, before heading out the door and to his ship. Someone was hunting him, had caught him unaware, but Valik was no mouse, and he would make the sane mistake twice. He had no time to waste sitting at some medical station when there was work to be done.
