Braze settled down on the Mud Duck's cargo bay, a space that had been thoroughly cleaned from top to bottom, courtesy of Kaelos Vryn Kaelos Vryn . The dimly lit bay was filled with the faint smell of fresh cleaning supplies and the distant hum of the ship's systems. The walls, once cluttered with tools and various gear, now felt more open, offering a quiet sense of space. In the center, a makeshift deck had been set up, its surface padded with mats designed for softer falls—ideal for practice and training in various martial arts.

Today, however, the space was repurposed for something more relaxing. Braze had invited Loomi to join him here. He plopped down a few large, soft bean bags and scattered some blankets around the floor, creating a cozy, informal setting. He powered on a small speaker, filling the room with the soft sounds of this music, the gentle melody offering a serene backdrop to the space.

Sitting back in a soft bean chair, Braze sighed softly, his eyes drifting toward the entry, waiting for Loomi's arrival.

"So..."

Loomi poked her head into the cargo bay, observing the gentle music and the various pieces of cozy furniture. She had been very distracted as of late. Lots that she was meditating on, so she had been in her room pretty much the entire time. There was a lot going on, and she couldn't help but wonder what Braze had up his sleeve.

"This is cozy..." she observed, glancing about at the new arrangement of the cargo bay. "What's the occasion?"

"I just wanted to talk... if that's okay," Braze said, his tone soft, as if he wasn't entirely sure how to broach the subject. He paused, then continued with a touch of hesitation in his voice, "You've mentioned having dreams about... mist weaving, right? I've been thinking about it since you brought it up. It sounds so... strange . I've never really seen anything like it before. Do you think you could show me how you do it? I'm really curious to understand it better. Maybe I can learn something from it, or at least see what it feels like... or maybe understand you better... if you're comfortable with that, of course."

"Oh."

Loomi sat down, folding her hands in her lap.

"Well, sure, I guess I could give it a shot," the Godoan decided. "Uh... I just need to remember what my teacher told me... Okay, so think of the Force as an ocean, and this ocean is always surrounding us. That energy that the universe is made of are threads. They sort of... move through people, the same way the Force does. Well, I guess that they are the same thing so of course they act the same... Uh, so certain people can feel the flow of this ocean, and they can reach out to the tides and pluck energy out of that flow. And when you do..."

Loomi pulled a radiant white thread.

"You pull a thread," she concluded. "It's sort of just... raw Force energy in it's purest form."

"If... any of that makes sense."

Braze tilted his head, his brow furrowing slightly as he processed Loomi's explanation. His hands hovered in the air, fingers twitching as if grasping at something just beyond his reach.

"Is it always threads, or do you make it into threads?" he asked, his voice filled with genuine curiosity. "What if I just... picture it kind of like clay? Would that work, or…?"

His hands shifted, mimicking a kneading motion as if molding something unseen. A touch of concentration crossed his face, but there was also a hint of amusement—like he knew how ridiculous he probably looked.

"Can you show me how you do it, please?" Braze added, glancing at Loomi with expectant eyes. He continued his funny hand gestures mid-air, trying to grasp something that just wasn't there.

"What if I just... picture it kind of like clay? Would that work, or…?"

"I-I don't really know if that's how it works," Loomi noted with an awkward expression. She didn't feel like she was that good at explaining this. "They're just... threads. I guess you could weave it into clay if you wanted to, but I'm not sure if it would be very good..."

But how did she even go about showing Braze how to do it? How did she do it? It was sort of second nature now, so she had to think back to the time where she didn't properly understand what it was that she was doing while weaving.

"Here... put your hand on the back of mine," the Godoan decided. "You can... feel what I experience through me. Maybe that will help."

Loomi moved Braze's hand over her own before repeating the action. At first it was like a Force pull, as though telekinetically grabbing hold of something. Then that sensation would latch onto motion, the feeling of the Force itself being pinched in one spot, as though one were plucking at atoms in the air. It was an impossible feeling sensation, yet one that could be experienced with some level of imagination capable of visualizing such a thing. Then a pull, revealing the fragment of the Force in thread form.

Turning the invisible binding energy of the universe into a visible binding energy.

Braze moved closer to Loomi, his posture softening as he mirrored her motion. His hand, larger and warmer, gently settled over hers, the gesture tender yet purposeful. He let go of any hesitation that might've kept him from fully embracing the moment. The warmth of his hand seemed to flow into hers, and for a moment, everything around them quieted.

Braze let his mental shields down, fully opening himself to her, his Force presence stretching towards hers like an unspoken invitation. He closed his eyes, feeling the delicate semblance of her energy, the pulse of connection blossoming between them. There was no rush, no need to hide behind walls or distance—just the serenity of being here, in this space, with her.

He leaned forward, his cheek brushing against hers, the snowy white strands of his hair shifting as he pressed his face gently to hers. The proximity felt natural, a comfort he hadn't known he was missing. His touch was soft, unafraid of drawing close, seeking the soft solace in their shared moment.

His breath stirred in the stillness, the beat of his heart a steady rhythm in the quiet. No fear, no need to pull away—just a pure, open connection. Braze's presence was a warmth against her skin, radiating not only from his touch but from a deeper place, a place of acceptance and confidence, allowing himself to be fully present with Loomi in this intimate exchange.

He could feel the threads of the Force that connected them, reaching out through the quiet pulse of the universe. His mind and soul, open and intertwined with hers, wrapped in a gentle embrace.

Loomi let out a sigh as Braze's cheek pressed into her own. She pouted for a moment, her own cheeks puffing up as her attention wavered for a moment.

"Braze..." Loomi exhaled.

She didn't protest however. It was nice. She liked this a lot. Her days as of recently had really been a constant cycle of meditation and training, so much so that she had stopped interacting a little. It was nice to have a moment that pulled her back to reality and grounded her.

"Do you at least understand what I did?"

Braze nestled closer, nuzzling against her before pressing a featherlight kiss to her cheek. His breath was warm against her skin, lingering for just a moment before he murmured, "I think so. But I'm having trouble seeing…" His voice trailed off as he shifted, his fingers sliding down over hers, tracing their shape before lacing them together.

He held her close, pulling her into the solid warmth of his embrace. He clung to the moment, soaking in the sensation of contact, of shared presence. He was bigger than when they had first met—stronger, his frame carrying the quiet evidence of growth in the way his form pressed against hers. The hug lingered, unhurried, as though he wished to memorize the feel of it, the quiet rhythm of their breath in tandem.

Reluctantly, he let go, exhaling a slow, steady breath before shifting to stand beside her. His expression tensed with focus, his eyes squinting for a moment before finally fluttering shut. He reached out, fingers unfurling into the air, wriggling slightly before his index and middle fingers began to twist and wind in slow, rhythmic motions.

It was almost uncertain, the way he pulled at something unseen, his touch threading through the air as though sifting through an invisible current. His Force presence brushed against hers, fully entwined, as if seeking to feel through her, to borrow her sight in a way words could not describe.

Loomi was an open door.

She let Braze in, opening herself up to allow him to experience seeing through her eyes. A sensation would wash over him, the very same sensation that surrounded Loomi at every point of her day-to-day existence. The currents of the Force seemed to flow around her in a way that made them tangible to the touch. It was like she was engulfed by the soft currents of a river, energy making contact and breaking around her. The unseen energies of the universe gently brushed against her skin, making their subtle presence known to the Godoan. Force sensitivity could not even begin to describe how in-tune with her surroundings she truly was. It was as though she were experiencing an entirely different reality than everyone else around her.

The over-stimulation of this new-found sensation would certainly make it clear that Loomi was not the average Force-user. She was something very different.

"Can you feel them?"

Braze nearly gasped as he was drawn into her world. It was overwhelming and soft, yet almost... suffocating. Too much, all at once. But he steadied himself, trying to synchronize with her presence.

It was foreign in many ways, alien in its intensity, yet oddly... familiar. It echoed the way he felt emotions when they crashed over him, unbidden and relentless, how surface thoughts bled into his own, sweeping him under in overwhelming waves.

He had spent years forging his mental shields into fortresses, walls strong enough to keep himself separate from the chaos of others. But this? This felt different. Like she had no walls at all, no way to dull the storm of what she experienced.

A pang of empathy curled inside him, concern, sorrow, something deeper. Something that came from within, unbidden and undeniable.

He swallowed and nodded. " Yes... I do... this is intense.. "

"A bit, yeah," Loomi chuckled. "I suppose it's no wonder why I'm always so... scatterbrained. It's hard to focus when everything is fighting over your attention."

Loomi turned to Braze, giving him a gentle smile.

"You don't need to feel bad for me," she stated. "This is just how I am. It's not something you or I have control over. It's more important to focus on how to make the best of what I feel than worry about it. Besides... I have everything I need to stay focused."

Her friends kept her grounded. They stood out clear as day in a cloudy world, like lanterns along a road in the fog. These were the things that would drive her. She didn't care how overstimulating everything around her was as long as she had her focus.

Braze shifted closer, his arm slipping around her waist in an easy, reassuring hug. He let himself linger just a little, warmth pressed against warmth, before nuzzling his cheek against hers.

"That's so sweet of you..." His voice was soft. "Well, I don't intend on going anywhere."

The words carried quiet certainty, a promise not made lightly. He pressed a gentle kiss against her temple, letting it linger just a breath longer before finally releasing her.

When he pulled back, his gaze met hers, "Thank you for showing me what your world is like." There was no pity in his voice, no forced sentiment, just gratitude.

"Thank you for showing me what your world is like."

"Yeah... of course..."

It seemed like Loomi's world was a mess these days. She really had no idea what was going on at any given moment. It wasn't the easiest to manage, and that was before her poor attention span. All these things she kept seeing... she couldn't help but wonder what it all meant.

And why it had to be her to see them.

At the very least she had good company. That made it all less daunting, even if nobody else could truly know the things that she had been experiencing over the last couple of months. This was good.

"So... you think you'll keep trying Mist Weaving?"

Braze studied Loomi for a moment, weighing her words.

He nodded once. "Yeah," he said. "It's... different from what I know, but it makes sense in its own way." His words were earnest, "Mist Weaving seems like something worth exploring. Maybe it'll lead you closer to whatever answers you're looking for."

"Mist Weaving seems like something worth exploring. Maybe it'll lead you closer to whatever answers you're looking for."

"I hope so..." Loomi remarked. "It feels like I'm getting close to something, I just don't know what."

Her dreams fluttered with visions of far-off places, strange people, words she could not utter herself. It was all very unusual. And after coming to terms with her past, and her mother, and who she was... It was all rather blurry. There was still a lot that it seemed like the Godoan needed to learn, things that could not be taught in the physical world.

Somewhere lost in the Mist.

"I may need to sleep on it more," she decided.
