To accept the title "Jedi" meant to willingly carry an immense burden. Upon the shoulders of each child of Light were obligations: both to one's self and the Galaxy at large. As one grew in the Force, those obligations increased manyfold; yet all Jedi gladly accept them all. One of the most important of their responsibilities is to pass down their experience to the next generation. Knowledge is something more precious than gold, but only through sharing is its value put to good use.
For the Jedi, this meant taking on an individual as an apprentice. This meant overseeing their development in the Light, and into maturity. This meant granting a young soul the title "Padawan."
Denko, a Feeorin Master of the Jedi Order, had not embarked on this particular journey in years. However, the Darkness Rising dictated that he put forth all his time and effort into stemming the tide through any means possible. In his mind, enabling a young soul to stand ever firm against the Darkness was once such way...and to this end, a trip to Ossus was taken. Still "new" to this particular temple, the Feeorin had to be directed throughout its halls until he arrived at an appointed room.
