"Any word?" A soft voice questioned as the sound of the harp quieted into a gentle vibration. Fingers pinched the string to silence it further as she waited for the response from the silver-haired Echani at her door. "I'm sorry, not that I know of Princess." The answer furrowed the blonde woman's brow; it was the expected response from the messenger, but not the one the Princess wanted. A hand brushed against the crease in her silken dress to hide her frustration.
"Fine, I'll just send one more." her response curt as she stood from her stool. Quinn moved towards the comm device on her nightstand while twisting her long blonde hair into a loose bun. The device was quiet; it had been for some time. Vesta was off doing who knows what - making changes to create a new reality; it was something Quinn didn't fully understand. Why couldn't they just make it work?
A hand rested against the device; its cool curve reminded the woman of the other half of her affections. Alina had saved her, drove her to the edge of insanity and back - yet Quinn held herself back with her. The unfinished business with Vesta consumed her and made Alina think she knew better.
Both women, Vesta and Alina, thought they knew better for Quinn, yet neither ever once asked the Princess what she wanted.
"I have a type…." Quinn groaned under her breath as she realized even the boy politician Felix Aquila also fell into this category of 'I know what's best for you. Her thoughts softened her voice as she pulled the device to her lips connecting with Alina's end, possibly for the last time.
<Alina>
She paused, unsure what to say to the woman - it felt like she had tried every angle to get Alina to respond. Several messages of love proclamations, others filled with threats and more than enough spilling over with painful tears - nothing moved the mountain that was the vampiress.
Sighing, Quinn realized what she needed to say - what she had to say.
<This is my last message; I can't continue this one-sided conversation. If I don't hear from or see you by the end of the week, I'll know your choice. I do hope to see you.>
Another long pause, only to gather her composure.
<If not, goodbye, Alina.>
