I Have Your Deliverly

In the MZX32905 system, a single Acavus-class bulk cruiser drifted, a light year away from the Home and safely away from the asteroids that made up the region of space. Stood on it's bridge, Alicia Drey was awaiting the arrival of Taeli Raaf, after making contact with the Jedi Master about Chandrila DataTech, the business that Alicia had sold to Raaf for a small fortune.

She wanted DataTech back, and in private negotiations, Alicia had reached an agreement with Taeli in regards to the business. In return for a shipment of Cortosis ore, Taeli would sell 55% back to Alicia. Emeritus Industries, of which Drey was the co-owner of, conducted mining of Cortosis ore on Obredaan. Alicia had request a stockpile be transported to her location, and so the shipment was en route to the Acavus that she was stood on.

All that was required was for Taeli and the shipment to arrive, where the deal would be signed and Chandrila DataTech would, once again, belong to Alicia Drey.

Dropping out of hyperspace at the coordinates provided Miss Drey in their private correspondence, Taeli could see the single bulk cruiser floating some distance out. A curious location for a meeting, one that Taeli was somewhat familiar with when she was a member of the One Sith and practically lived in the archives and old books.

Angling her Sicarius-class Infiltrator to land in the ship's docking area, she pondered the motives of Miss Drey being this far out in the galaxy and away from Chandrila. Such a curious thing indeed, but Taeli wasn't going to ponder too deeply on the matter. She was here to finalize the stock exchange and take possession of a shipment of cortosis.

One could never have too much of the precious ore and she always had plans for such materials.

Alicia had the Jedi Master brought up to the bridge, with her people offering to refuel the Sicarius for the return trip to Republic space. The former CEO of Chandrila DataTech was stood at the bridge, gazing out into space. Artificial lights illuminated her chalk white skin and dark, blonde hair. She was in the system on personal matters, of which were not the concern of the Jedi who was meeting with her.

She turned as Taeli was entering the room. She did not give her trademark smile. It was almost like she was unhappy to see the Jedi Master, and that seemed strange, considering neither one of them had done anything to the other.

"Master Raaf," said Alicia softly, yet curtly. "Welcome to the Acavus. Thank you for meeting with me."

She had kindly accepted the offer to refuel her ship while she was here, her exploration and travels in the Outer Rim had been a long and arduous task. She was almost done though, then she would be returning to the rest of the galaxy. Looking out the window as she walked up to Miss Drey, she felt a sort of pull towards the direction of the asteroid system. Something was there...

"Of course, Miss Drey," she said, smiling slightly. There was a tension between the two, for some odd reason. Taeli had never done anything to the woman in front of her. "An impressive ship you have here, necessary for traveling in the Outer Rim and so close to the unstable space of what is left of the Primeval. Interesting spot to rendezvous as well."

"It is a meeting point for another associate, who is coming to meet with me. I do not know if you have heard of Ultimatum, but they are the owner of LOOM, based at Mustafar. They should be here in the next day. But let us move straight onto business."

Alicia pulled out a Lenoi. Taeli would recognize it as the datapad Chandrila DataTech sold. Activating the device, Alicia pulled up the contract Taeli and she had signed when she had sold the company to her, during her days as a Sith Lord.

"In return for a shipment of Cortosis ore, you agreed to return fifty-five percent of your shares in DataTech back to me, so that I can become the owner once again. When we sign the new contract, those shares will be passed over to me. Agreed?"

[member="Alicia Drey"]

"Agreed," Taeli said, not knowing who this Ultimatum was or what his company was. If he was based on Mustafar, that would explain it as Taeli wasn't really invested in that sector of space yet. She was more involved in the Centrality and the space between the Techno Union and the Republic, with some facilities in the protection of the Silvers.

"I would first want the product delivered and on ship before I signed, of course," Taeli said, giving a polite smile but behind it was the guarded caution that was part of her ever since her Sith days. Not that she didn't trust Miss Drey, but one could never be too cautious. "A precautionary measure, I'm sure you understand."

"I understand completely. The shipment from Obredan should be here shortly. In the meantime, please treat yourself to a drink and review the contract whilst we wait for the shipment to arrive."

Alicia passed the Lenoi over to Taeli to read. All it required was her signature.

"A very well put together contract, simple and to the point," Taeli said, looking up from the datapad. "Once the shipment arrives, I'll happily sign it."

When offered refreshments, she politely excused herself from any. Not that she didn't trust the woman, but Alicia Drey was still mostly an unknown quantity to her. Taeli did remember the woman had an interest in Sith artifacts though, from when she had won a Sith concentration amulet in an auction and had provided it to the woman in question when they met about the Lenoi II.

"I'm curious, do you know the history of this system?' she asked, looking out in the direction of the viewport.

Alicia joined Taeli at the view port. The Home and surrounding asteroids floated by the Acavus. She envisioned constructing a facility, to uncover the secrets left behind by a long deceased Dark Lord of the Sith. She knew the history of the the Home well enough.

"No. I'm not aware. Is there something I should know?" Alicia replied softly.

"I'm not surprised," she said, looking towards the system in question. "Most people wouldn't even know this place existed, but this place played some small part in the Second Galactic Civil War. We can thank Jedi Masters Solusar for their meticulous records that survived the Gulag Virus on Ossus, but apparently this system was once the home of a long dead Sith known as Lumiya. She orchestrated events to turn one of the Solo children to the dark side, but after she died, this system became home to a Dark Jedi known as Alema Rar."

Taeli wondered just how much of the original place actually still remained, considering the second portion of the mission briefs.

"A Jedi strike force consisting of Jaina Solo, her parents, Zekk, and the first Jagged Fel hunted Alema down and killed her here. Apparently, she discovered some sort of Force Phantom technique within Lumiya's notes on the place. To make the mission more complicated, an unknown frigate attacked the task force and placed and detonated explosives on the asteroid that contained Lumiya's base. The Jedi were lucky to get away and the frigate left after blowing the asteroid."

"An interesting tale, wouldn't you say?" she said, smiling slightly.

"Fascinating."

It took all of Alicia's will to maintain her silence. She hadn't anticipated that Raaf would know the connection between the Home and the Sith. Of course, the Chandrilian was aware that Lumiya had once lived here. After all, she had amassed a collection of history and tales, all of which were locked away on Sojourn.

Keeping note of the Jedi Master and her knowledge regarding the Home, Alicia turned to face Taeli with a smile. "I believe the shipment from Obredan has arrived, Master Raaf. Shall we conclude our business?"

[member="Alicia Drey"]

"Yes, it is quite fascinating," Taeli said, looking out towards the distant system again. Part of her, the inquisitive part that always needed to know or learn something, was wanting to go explore the system. She was curious what might have survived in this empty system over the past few millennia, very curious indeed, but she had to rein that part in right now. She knew whatever might exist here still was going to be associated with the dark side, and the temptation would be quite strong given recent family developments for her. She had to keep stopping herself from looking at the two holocrons she possessed.

"I believe we should," Taeli replied as Miss Drey said the shipment had arrived. "Shall we go see this shipment, and then I'll sign it."

[OOC: I missed your tag and I saw you replied when I was checking my threads. Really sorry this has taken just over two months to finish lol.]

"Yes. Let's go."

Alicia led Taeli away from the transparisteel window they had been standing at, and together, the two women headed to the cargo bay, where the shipment of Cortosis ore from Obredaan had just arrived. The Rodian pilot, who had flown the Cortosis to the MZX32905 system, had already climbed out of the transport to stretch his legs and enjoy a much needed cigarette. The Jin'ha who had accompanied him had already begun the process of unloading Taeli's shipment into the cargo bay. Alicia noted all of these things as she entered the cargo bay, accompanied by the Jedi Master.

"I'll have your Cortosis loaded onto your ship," said Alicia, turning to Taeli. Personally, she did not want to interact with the Rodian or the Jin'ha, such was her focus on the Jedi before her and the upcoming Azari project that she would begin in the Home. "All you need to do now is sign the contract and the deal will be done."

Satisfied with the load being moved onto her ship, Taeli signed the contract turning over 55% of the shares she controlled back to Miss Drey, while retaining some investment in the company. It was prudent, after all, to at least keep some sort of presence in a company, especially if it became larger and more successful.

"And so, it is done and you are once again the majority shareholder," Taeli said, watching the Rodian and Jin'ha do their work. Such an odd combination of aliens, but who was she to say what made for good employees. "I'm curious about what your plans for DataTech might be, but I suppose I leave that for you to decide."

Looking out of the bay through the ray shield keeping everything within from floating out into space, she could still make out a portion of the asteroids in this system.

"You know, even though we have interacted a few times, I have to wonder about your motivations and goals," she said, speaking quietly this time. "Successful businesswoman, such as yourself, even being in this system personally is just sort of odd even if you are meeting someone here. But then, maybe I shouldn't pry. We all have sides and secrets we might not like to share, some of them can be ... dark."

For just a moment, there would be a hint of her past in her eyes ... and then it was gone.

"Or perhaps I'm just being introspective because of the history of this system, I'm a student of history and the Force ... and there is just something about the other side that always fascinates me," she said, shrugging a little. "Apologies, you must be very busy and I'm here waxing about secrets and the past."

Alicia read the contract one more time, her eyes lowering to where Taeli had signed her name. Her debt with the InterGalactic Banking Clan had been solved when she had sold her company to Taeli. It had taken eight years to resolve the issues that Circe Savan had caused her personally, but she was now the owner of DataTech once again and that was good. She was in a better position now than she was eight years previously and she all owed it to her death. Alicia had to restrain herself from smiling.

Caught up in her own thoughts, Alicia missed the majority of what Taeli had said. Catching the final parts of conversation, she utilized the opening that the Jedi Master had graciously given her. "Yeah. I do have a lot of other work to do. But thank you so much for bailing me out of trouble all those years ago. I'll have you in the loop with what I am planning with DataTech."

Turning her gaze to the Rodian, she waved him over to the pair. When the pilot was close enough to hear, Alicia said: "Please make sure Miss. Raaf finds her way off the ship and that her shipment of Cortosis ore is safely secured." Turning back to Taeli, Alicia nodded to her and turned to depart the cargo bay. This isn't the last time we'll meet, she thought to herself. Next time won't be so pleasant.
