I guess i'm looking for a solo-posting thread..?

I guess i'm looking for a solo-posting thread..? I have just created a character named Alan Paddock

here is the link:
http://starwarsrp.net/topic/120068-alan-paddock/?hl=%2Balan+%2Bpaddock

Basically, he is escaping from Auberllon (a planet i found) and if there are no pre-existing threads for it, then I am requesting a thread for it. I also didn't make Auberllon, i am very new here, and don't know , and havent talked to the planets creator.

He won't be there long, but I'm just looking to start there and stuff. I also need an NPC for my brother (or a character someone plays? I think i want an NPC I can play...)

I dont know if this is where to ask, but I dont know what else to do to get started, no offense but this forums is a bit of a steep learning curve (though it is super awesome, and i am very excited to play!)

So thats it, sorry if i posted wrong, or assumed something that isn't true. I have experience roleplaying, but not like this. Thank you waiting for responses!

[member="Froggychum"] - It's cool bro.

We don't have solo threads. We have "Private" and "Public" threads. Private means it's invitational. Public means anything goes.

Auberllon is fine. You can "officially" makes planets in our Codex Forum. However, for now it is enough that Auberllon just exist as a great setting for your first RP. Nice.

You can have as many NPCs as you want, and, you can play them yourself. No biggie.

Welcome to the boards. Thanks for being pro-active and verily enjoy your stay. :D

Thanks a million! Just wondering how I will voice my NPCs? And should I do the story in one or multiple posts? Will there be a GM (I assume not)?

Think of yourself as an author. Collaborating with other writers. Co-GM. You get to be your own boss. Your characters, their own masters. What you write, how you write it? Thats up to you.

Voice your stories anyway you want. We're here to celebrate SW fandom together. Not tell you how to write a perfect fanfic. So enjoy that freedom and try not to be intimidated by it. Lulz.

For more perspective. Try reading any thread you can find. You've got this!

Thank you so much! I will be making a thread on Auberllon (i won't be there long anyway :p, my main adventure is going to start wherever I am able to land that looks hospitable!)

I would like to make a small suggestion to your inquiry above.

If the npc plays a minor role (one shot or bit player) you don’t really need to do anything except indicate who spoke. If the npc is minor but recurring (side kick or comic relief level) there is more chance of dialogue so you might want to use consistent different color font (ie assign each character a color permanently) for all their dialogue.

Finally if the npc is semi major (meaning you will use it almost as often as the main character) you may want to consider making a character profile for him/her/it as well.

I hope these suggestions helped answer your question. Cheers

thank you, I have finished my story arc with this NPC, and don't have plans for a return soon! If i plan on putting that in my story, then i will cherish these instructions as if they were a holy book :D ty!
