What would have usually been an opportunity for Evelynn to lash out at his staggering ability to give blunt non-answers was lost. After all, what difference would his answer have made? Emryc's capacity to forgive held no bearing on her own, his definition different, his own grief an entirely separate beast. Oh no, it was far preferable to pretend to be happy families and live in this idyllic bubble of isolation with nothing more than a fething kath hound for company. It's okay, you get to kark off and play Sith for months at a time, but your daughter gets to grow up as some lonely, socially stunted, stuttering paragon for idiotic innocence!
The seethe slowly consumed, her internal process a rant that only increased in tempo and volume until eventually, Evelynn felt as if she was just standing there, screaming inside of her own head.
