(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction

"Alright, sweetpie, we'll work on nicknames," she called after him. Feet lightly sped down the stairs and jumped over the droid carcasses. She caught a flash of the swarm of people just on the other side of the door as the sith lord made his escape. He was a slippery ol' bastard.

Pausing behind the closed door of the stairwell, she holstered her weapon, straightened her clothes, and fluffed her hair. Taking a steadying breath, she opened the door and calmly made her way through the crowds of officers, cradling her head. "Excuse me, sorry. I woke up passed out on the stairwell. Pardon me." She squeezed passed the officers, keeping her head ducked as she followed the sith's form through her peripheral though her feet took her toward the door.

The security officers were a bit frazzled by the sudden appearance of the disheveled and bruised Darth, who had beelined for the opposite end of the lobby as quickly as he could. They almost didn't notice Kitt trying to squeeze past them, carrying a holstered Ion rifle. If the emergency report hadn't been so vague, they probably wouldn't have been so confused. Then again, if the One Sith had improved the budgeting for the CSF like he had asked, they would have been better trained and better equipped to deal with these problems automatically.

In the absence of training, however, Adekos was there to set them back on track. Adekos whipped around from the other side of the lobby and yelled orders, because he did own the place. "Don't let her leave, you fools! That's the insurgent!"

Blaster pistols were unholstered and leveled at the Solo woman. Suddenly a bunch of men (and a fair amount of women because equal opportunity is nice and everything) were barking orders for Kitt to drop her weapon and get on the ground. If she didn't comply in short order, it wasn't beyond the realm of possibility she would end up being shot at.

She froze, just steps away from the exit. Slowly her hands lifted into the air. "Everyone just calm down." Dialed into the force, she emitted strong waves of apathy and surrender with a strong desire to lay down mixed with feelings of hunger to leave and get a snack. Gotta love those chocopuffs.

"I'm not the insurgent you're looking for."

Myrtle-ellipses keyed into the sith lord across the lobby.

Adekos could only watch as various elements of the Coruscant Security Force apathetically holstered their sidearms, rubbed their stomachs, and left to go find food or visit a vending machine. Could Ovmar do this? Surely Ovmar should have been able to do this. Maybe this was what he did with those infernal Graug on Kashyyk he always heard so much about. Darth Adekos had been tangled in the branches of Worshyr trees for the duration of that battle after falling off a branch and so had not gotten to witness it first hand. He growled in frustration lightsaber snapping into his hand and igniting.

"Stop doing that!" He barked. This was an odd scene for a duel, as suddenly the only people in the building with a vested interest in fighting were Adekos and Kitt. Everyone else had either left or was continuing about their business like the two Force Users weren't even there.

Perhaps he was no mentalist, but Adekos had a few tricks of his own up his sleeve. Rather than directly assault the Solo woman, he reached out with the Force. He didn't do anything to the bounty hunter, however, but her weapon. Kitt could probably feel the gun she had holstered start to heat up exponentially as the Dark Jedi utilized the Force to tamper tamper with the gun. This would be her only warning before it overloaded and exploded with some force.

"Hey babe, if you would just," suddenly, she felt heated metal along her thigh. Moving quickly, she flung the weapon away from her and toward the stairwell door, where no people were. A small explosion rocked the room. The bounty hunter threw-up a shield to protect the closer people from the cloud of flying shrapnel.

She wasn't an animal.

Seeing a clear path, she pumped her palm forward and sent a powerful force push at the sith lord, intending to slam him into the vending machines behind him. After the force push, she turned her concentration back on the straggling people and put one strong mental suggestion in their minds.

LEAVE

She flung her weapon away towards the stairwell door, but by the time she turned back around to throw a telekinetic blast into him, Adekos was already gone. Aside from Mechu-Deru, the Umbaran was a prolific user of Force Cloak. It had been his original forte. It still was, but back in the day it had been his only trick. Now he had a much winder assortment, and could do thinks like speed his movements while he was still invisible. The Security Officers that had been waiting in line for the vending machine were flung into the wall by the Force Push. The ones who weren't rendered dazed and unconscious from the blast started shuffling inexplicably for the exits.

Really, and he was the animal? How uncouth.

In the timespan of a blink, the Umbaran popped back into existence mere feet from Kitt, saber cleaving through the air for the bounty hunter. He wasn't close enough to bisect her, but his blade would leave a nasty and debilitating shiim from her shoulder to her hip if she didn't move out of the way fast enough.

Danger senses tingled. She lunged back as the saber skimmed her shoulder, along the terantatek jacket. Even with the jacket, she could feel the start of a burn.

"At least take me out for dessert first, sweetpie."

Two things happened. A flash grenade found its way into her hand. A lightsaber hilt in the other. She threw the grenade at the feet of her prey and took two more steps back, ducking her head as the strobe-light went off.

He wasn't oblivious to a grenade being plunked at his feet, and his reaction gave Kitt the time she needed to skitter away.

The flash grenade was gripped with the Force, then flung off to the far side of the room. It detonated a reasonable distance away, but not quite as far as he would have liked it to be. His ears rung and he still flinched from the brief explosion. Adekos gave an enraged snarl. This was just making him more and more angry, and that only fueled his strength in the Force. First she comes into his office, knocks out all of his employees, makes fools out of the Coruscant Security Force, and then proceeds to deliver those stupid one-liners the whole time. This was unbearable- and there was only one way to deal with this kind of unbearable.

He reached out to find something to violently fling at Kitt as well. There wasn't a lot to choose from in an office environment, but he would make due. It was the lobby, after all. Adekos settled for a couple of heavy, metallic garbage cans.

"The only place you're being taken to is a morgue!" He yelled, tearing the garbage cans from where they were standing and throwing them towards her. "Shut up and die!"

Thumb hit the ignition of the lightsaber. Ironically but probably not, the golden-blade was the same color her sister used.

A moment of silence for the dead.

She gripped the hilt in both hands, slicing the first can down the center, sending the two edges off two her sides and trash, well, everywhere. Mostly it was shredded flimsipads. She crouched real low to avoid another can, only to get shoved to the side by a third as she stood up. Her side slammed into the desk. The bruising was real.

But she quickly straightened and aimed all of her empath might at the sith lord. "Sleep, sugar." This was enough strength to make an average person collapse on the floor and go into a coma for a few days. But for sith lords, who knew? Maybe it would just make him crave his blankey.

Waves of sluggishness suddenly swept over Adekos. His shoulders slacked, his grip on his lightsaber loosened. He took a step back, shaking his head in confusion. He was just getting warmed up here! There was no reason for this sudden wave of exhaustion and a desire to go to bed... Or not even to bed, really. Just kind of sleep. Here. On the floor. Frankly, if he took a few steps back, that fat, unconscious sales rep behind him would have made a good cushion. Good thing the paramedics hadn't managed to evacuate everyone before that thrice-damned bounty hunter showed up.

Bounty hunter.

Bounty hunter.

"RAGH!" Adekos shook his head, like a drunk trying to clear his thoughts. He had not fallen unconscious, but his thoughts certainly felt muddled. This was dragging on for far too long. "Get out of my building!"

He reached out with the Force again. There was a tempest of rage and frustration that was only getting stronger the longer he went, and now it was being directed at Kitt. Her lightsaber's power cell suddenly started to heat up exponentially, for some reason...

It was almost naptime for sith lord. She could feel it coming. She was so cl---

Like touching a hot pan, she immediately released the ever-hotter hilt of her lightsaber and launched it toward her target's face. The explosion was enough for the bounty hunter to feel the heat of the blast beyond the other side of her protection bubble and send the small of her back into the edge of the reception desk.

More bruising.

Face scrunched up in pain and she mentally promised herself some serious drinking at a bar after this. She deserved it. Alcohol was a natural pain killer, after all.

Fighting through the pain, she un-holstered the MK2 bolter and shot off a round of Cryoban at the sith lord's feet.

What a groundbreaking tactic. As if she were the first person to try and throw their soon-to-explode weapon at him. Adekos knocked it off course from his face with a flick of his wrist, the hilt soaring past him and exploding somewhere behind him. That said, it still made him flinch and he found himself instinctively looking away. The nerve of this trollop! Seething with anger, Adekos looked back to Kitt, eyes wild with Dark Sided fury.

"Is that really the best you can..."

Instead of looking at Kitt Solo, he found himself staring down the barrel of a MK2 Bolter. He knew what those were, what they tended to do to people like him. The color drained from his face.

"...Do?"

A bolt exploded from the weapon, but instead of blowing his brains out, it exploded at his feet. An explosion reminiscent of a CryoBan grenade ensued, creeping up his legs. Searing pain shot through them as the rapid-cooling chemicals froze him to the spot. Predictably, Adekos screamed. Not just in pain, but the realization he probably wouldn't be moving from this spot until either paramedics rescued him or the bounty hunter thawed him out for transport. Despite the pain, Adekos knew he was going to have to get rid of that damnable gun before she shot it again.

It was a pity he had to keep calling on the Force, but there were few other options. He attempted to clamp down on the weapon and wrench it from Kitt's hands, pulling it towards him so he could quickly cut it in two with his lightsaber once it came close enough.

She yelped as her prized MK2 bolter was ripped from her grasp. She might've been able to hold onto it but that would've brought her entire body flying toward the sith lord and toward some serious frostbite. Not to mention the potential of dislodged shoulder sockets.

The second the bolter left her hand, she sent an invisible battering ram for the frozen sith lord through the force. With any luck, it would push her favorite gun out of range. But it would still be out of her reach.

Then again, it might not.

She could settle for some invisible pummeling of this sith.

"Hey, darlin,' keep your hands to yourself."

A hand cradled her bruised ribs.

He swung. He really would have liked to at least break her damnable weapon, but it just wasn't meant to be. The tip of his lightsaber managed to slice off the muzzle, rendering it inoperable for the time being. Theoretically it could easily be repaired, but to say it could be repaired would imply that Kitt would have the opportunity to do so because she would be leaving here alive. And Adekos wasn't about to tolerate that kind of pessimistic mindset. This was already a tense, uphill battle, he couldn't afford to lose morale. Otherwise he would be doomed.

Speaking of pessimism and doom, Adekos was ripped from the spot he had been frozen to by Kitt Solo's patented Force Ram. It was a shameful display, truly, that the alleged Dark Jedi Master was doing so much screaming. Yet here he was, screaming as he sailed across the lobby and impacted the front desk. He was winded, his body still hurt from falling down so many flights of stairs, and his legs were still frozen stiff. On the bright side, now he was utterly enraged beyond the point of no return.

Wait, that wasn't bright at all.

Adekos was getting close to tuckered out. He suspected his opponent would be to. It was time for one last effort. Then maybe he'd try to get TD-0501 to come help him. Another Force Push, more like a shockwave, directed at Kitt to send her flying out the rather large window and into the Coruscanti street outside. Maybe she would hit an emergency speeder, or one of the CSF officers and paramedics wandering around outside. It was hardly relevant. Adekos just needed time to get the hell out of dodge.

She didn't smile at the screaming. Face remained stony. Unlike this dark force use, she didn't get her jollies from causing other people pain. The shock wave caught the Solo off guard. Her feet lifted from the ground as her body went flying like a batted aside cat toy for the window.

The impact knocked the wind from her lungs. Red ribbons formed on any exposed skin as the glass nipped into her flesh. She managed a weak shield with the force to lessen her impending impact.

THWAP

Was it kismet? Her back slammed into an empty stretcher being carried by two somewhat dazed workers with enough force to cause herself and the stretcher to rip free from their grip and hit the pavement. A sound in her ears roared.

She saw stars.
