Okay, I have a few questions:
- Are SS Padawans allowed to just fuck about on their own little private adventures or are they supervised rigidly?
- Are there any holocrons / other learning aids free to access in the archives?
- If a tree falls in a forest and there's no one around, does it make a sound?
(On a side note, I wouldn't mind threading with anyone here.)

The answer to this is actually up to you, not the faction.
So it could be yes or no, depending on what you want. As a general rule of thumb however, the answer is that they're not supervised rigidly and you're free to write your own story (that story could be that your character IS supervised rigidly by their NPC or PC master, but that would be up to you and, in the case of a PC master, the other writer as well).
