The laugh didn't bother Zylah in the slightest. It wasn't a humiliating one, and it came from the warm place of someone close to her. It was easy for the Padawan to get affected by the merriment, and join in with Corvus' laughter.
Practice, practice and practice. The three most important lessons, and she remembered them well. She had tried her best to apply herself, and those three lessons, to everything she learned. Prudence had become a willing playmate and training partner, helping Zylah grow with both Empathy, and other mind-effecting powers. She may have made the cute kitten levitate once or twice. Zylah nodded in understanding. Hard work was the way of the Jedi. A sort of self-sacrifice, to better prepare them for the role of Defender of the Galaxy. Having a brave and patient kitten to help made the process much more enjoyable though.
They went on for a while, Corvus tossing snowballs, and Zylah gradually getting better and better at defending against them. The satisfaction and joy she felt when snowballs shattered against her defences was amazing. To feel accomplished was a vital component to ensure a learning environment that was both healthy and efficient.
"Alright! That works for me!" Zylah said, shaking some snow off her clothes before getting back up to her feet. Despite her being on the receiving end of the barrage of snowballs, Zylah too had had fun. She had learned something new, something to practice. She felt like she was moving forwards, progressing. This was good. "How do you use this? Is it kind of like a stop-and-channel power, where you're static? Or can you put up a light shield around yourself as you engage in lightsaber combat?" she asked. It would be useful regardless of Corvus' answer, but she wondered if there was a defensive Force ability she could actively use while fighting. Zylah imagined it might become too exhausting though, but you never know. She thought it best to ask.
Like the obedient paddy she was, Zylah followed her Master, bracing weather and wind to reach the cave. She heard Corvus' voice in her head, which was just as good, 'cause she wasn't sure how she'd talk under the current conditions. Zylah was busy making an effort to cover up as much of her face as possible. The girl nodded in understanding, and looked towards the hole. If not for the biting cold wind, she would've gasped. 'That must've been horrible! I'm glad you made it.' Of course she was glad she made it. She felt a bit silly for projecting those words afterwards, though she didn't know what else she could say. It was true, and Corvus probably knew as much without the need for the half-Arkanian to say it.
Their trip continued, for what felt like hours, though the harshness of the environment made her lose track of time. Corvus had been her before, but to Zylah, this was a fresh challenge. It seemed the Force kept her warm, or perhaps it was her clothing? Regardless, the duo made it to the small entrance. 'Oh great' Zylah couldn't help but replying, in a semi-exhausted 'finally we're there'-kind of way. 'I bet' she concurred. The entrance made it look tiny. But looks could be deceiving, with all the snow, it was hard to get a realistic grip on the size of her surroundings.
'I don't know. It just kind of came to my mind, and I thought it made sense, right? C for Corvus. Do you mind it?' the voice of Zylah mumbled away inside of Corvus' head, whether invited or not. She wasn't sure if that would be the one nickname that would stick, or if she'd fall back to Corvy. Maybe she'd think of something fancy and new. Corvalicious... Ok, it'd probably be a better idea for her to focus on the cave and prepare for whatever it had in store for her...
