Salacia Consolidated - Laekia Outpost
Judah was waiting patiently for the infamous Jared Starchaser Jared Starchaser to arrive. Living and working in the Tingel Arm for ages, he naturally knew of the Starchasers. Famous Jedi who founded a sect out this way. That sect had seemed to have faded out of power and there was a new player on the board ; the Tingel Arm Collation. Striking out and rebelling or some nonsense.

He hated it.

The Tingel Arm was a relatively quiet place. It was one of the reasons he expanded out this way. Folks were different out here ; loners and tough types who were willing to help their neighbor but also wanting to be left alone. Not someone was fighting for 'freedom' using the name of the region. It was dangerous. Dangerous not only for his business but also his family. Attention meant nefarious eyes would soon be looking in this direction.

Hence why he was wanting to contract with the Starchasers. He had ambitious plans to commission his own hyperlane. Potentially more than one. It was all going to depend on the Starchasers and how willing they were to put their spacer skills to use. He was going to pay handsomely of course. Yet most men had a price more than credits. He was about to find out the price of one Jared Starchaser.

The corner of the galaxy where Jared was partially operating out of was getting loud. He was born on Csilla, but he cut his teeth out in the Tingel Arm. He learned from his father that there were layers of good people, and they may not always be appearing to follow one or two narrow paths. He brought that out to the Outer Rim Coalition back in the day. But now?

Jared was back on Laekia, a monthly check in. The Levantine Sanctum was still operating, just much quieter, almost clandestinely, and that was how Jared liked it. He was not a Jedi, nor was he exactly a hero, but he could make a few things work out here. Coming out here also meant a good home for the Underground. Somewhere safe, and literally off the conventional maps.

The real interesting thing was that he was being called by his family name by another known entity out in the Levantine Space. Judah Dashiell. He was fairly certain the other man was a fish person, like the witch Jared knew. Making his way out to Salacia Consolidated, he landed his Undertow racing yacht, what he was using to run through blockades with information, and partially to help deliver small goods and technology.

The Fringer stepped out of his ship, followed by his droid, he checked to make sure he had his blaster and lightsaber, more for the appearance than anything else. Making his way into the compound, he was hoping he’d find where he was supposed to be.

And probably to someone who he wasn't suspecting was who he needed to meet.

Judah Dashiell Judah Dashiell

Leaving the main building to greet Jared Starchaser Jared Starchaser , Judah idly took note of the blaster and lightsaber. He found it amusing that lately his meetings with these Jedi-types always included weapons of some sort. Did Salacia have a horrible reputation all the sudden? Perhaps it was the nature of the Tingel Arm lately. Thrown into a bit of chaos with the emergence of the Tingel Arm Collation. Judah wasn't sure how to feel about them. So far he was regarding them as a mere nuisance to business. He hoped that was all they would remain.

Eyes squinted in the bright sunlight as he walked towards Starchaser. The old salvager was hoping the man's reputation was correct. Judah had heard for years the Starchasers and the Merrills were the ones who were the best at creating and navigating hyperlanes. Such knowledge was invaluable and he was ready to pay handsomely for what he wanted.

Hand outstretched in greeting towards the Mirialan.

"Jared Starchaser? Judah Dashiell. Pleasure to meet you, thanks for coming out to talk. I wasn't sure if your family was still involved in the hyperlane business, you have quite the reputation."

Making his way to the Salacia meeting area, he realized he was carrying weapons. It was more the ‘station’ of being someone who was raised in the Jedi, plus a lightsaber worked really well as a lock pick, and the blaster was just in case something went wrong. Many a folks were finding themselves interested in the Tingel Arm, and Jared was not about to be caught pants down. Jared was ready to fight to defend this region of space, but he was hoping that he’d only have to fight the remnants of those who had been out here.

Jared was the new focal Starchaser in the galaxy, and doing a business meeting like this? Felt a little off. He was an operative, and a flier, Kaia was the business woman. But he’d heard nothing but good on Salacia, at least as far as it went for the types like him. Fringers, and those on the edge of the galaxy.

Oh. Not a fish.

Jared took a beat before nodding and taking Judah’s hand. “My pleasure, your reputation has you out here in the Levant space well before some of the new neighbors have moved in. And we are. For the right price, or cause.” The Mirialan smirked.

Judah Dashiell Judah Dashiell

"I've been in and around the Tingel Arm since my son was very small. So yes, I know Levant space well. As for our new neighbors....time will tell how long they will stay."

Judah was highly skeptical of the Tingel Arm Coalition. If they decided to just disappear it would be even better. He predicted a lot of problems on the horizon and he didn't need this Coalition to come in and bring those problems to this corner of the galaxy. Only time would tell how it went though, and the skeptical side of him expected war.

"Credits won't be a concern. Let's go inside Mister Starchaser. I have a holographic map we can discuss things over. I think you will be surprised by idea, and I hope it's a job you chose to take. I think it can be beneficial not only for myself but also the Starchasers in general. I'm getting ahead of myself though. Let's get to that map and a glass of whisky and I can explain what my grand vision is."

Jared Starchaser Jared Starchaser

He had grown up in the Unknown Regions, but when he was really free, and when his father came back from the almost-literal dead, Jared and Kaia hopped over to the Levantine Sanctum. Between that and the Outer Rim Coalition, it was all home. The areas between worlds, away from the warm and cozy Core. “Its good to see someone else is watching them with a bit of caution. I think the folks at Laekia are doing the same. I mean, if they’re out doing…” Jared was about to talk about wars against the Empires and Sith, but thought better of it, shaking his head and waving it off. “We’ll see what they grow into.” The nice thing about the Levantine worlds was their almost isolationist vision for themselves.

Credits not being a problem? Good. He thought that Dashiell did have the funds, another salvage company. Bigger than his family’s he thought. Though again, that was his sister’s world, and Jared was just still getting over the fact that the Dashiell in front of him wasn’t a fish.

“Please, its just Jared, Captain if you want to be formal.”
He nodded, and looked to the pilot droid that had also followed. Jared handed over his blaster. “Check the fuel and navigation systems Elthree.” He nodded and turned back to Judah, lightsaber on his hip, and his BD unit at his heel. “Lets see that map.” This was going to be fun, he could tell.

Judah Dashiell Judah Dashiell

"I think the question is more if they have the staying power Captain. How many governments have we seen rise and fall over the past several years? Everyone thinks they can run the Tingel Arm but between you and I? Folks out here are too wild and independent, which is a good thing. The galaxy needs more of that."

Yet they weren't too well acquainted and talk of politics and the what not. Instead Judah motioned Jared Starchaser Jared Starchaser towards the outpost, leading him indoors. The Mirialan man was lead into a darkened room, lit from the starmap and a few dim lights overhead. On the map, the planets of Freehold, Hast, and Bonadan were all lit up in a bright orange color, like pins.

"Can I get you anything to drink? Water? Whisky? Brandy? Scotch? I can also track down other refreshments if you would like. Figured you might want something before mulling over my crazy idea."

Yeah, Captain felt better. Master anything was weird. Jared wasn’t exactly living in any one traditions training list any longer. Left the Jedi, bounced away from the Jensaarai. Maybe he was an Outer Rim Judge at the current time, or one of the post-Jedi Watchmen from the Levants. But he was a saber for hire now. He had his skills, he didn’t have the dogma to weigh him down.

“You are right. I thought we had the relative peace out here. Since the Sanctum went into hiding, no one really came knocking. Especially after the Bryn’adul.”
The Rim of the Galaxy was a hard place to live. “Its why we all came out here, I think, avoid the politics of the core.” Live and let live, and help where you could.

The worlds on the map were places he recognized. Freehold, and Bonadan were known, Hast was in the middle of somewhere to someone, nowhere to him. “I’ll take a whiskey, anything from Corellia?” He was a homeworlder, no matter how much he tried not to be. Looking back at the map, he was considering.

“Going to connect these?”

Judah Dashiell Judah Dashiell

“Its why we all came out here, I think, avoid the politics of the core.”

"You're more right about that then you know, Captain Starchaser."

Yet it seemed politics were going to reach their doorstep soon. Judah hoped the politics, the 'light versus dark' Force nonsense would stay far out of his way. Not to mention any governmental concerns, he had been informed one time the Galactic Senate wanted to explore seizing company assets of companies who didn't align with the Galactic Alliance. Talk about overreach.

"I do have Corellian."

Judah went to the bar cart and poured in the amber liquid for himself and Jared Starchaser Jared Starchaser . Reaching the star map once again, he passed the lowball glass over to the other man. A small smirk played on his face at the question, the Captain was very astute. He had guessed quickly what Judah was trying to do.

"In a way, I'm looking to pay a ridiculous amount of credits for you to do it. "

Judah paused, taking a sip of his whisky.

"With some caveats of course. I'm looking to make this a limited hyperlane....Use for only the Dashiells, Arceneaus, Starchasers....and their respective companies. I am a little flexible on this, but I wouldn't want this known to the wider galaxy."

Despite being at odds with Danger Arceneau Danger Arceneau , of course he was going to include her in his project. Such a massive, private hyperlane would be a boon for her business. If traffic was kept to a minimum, Judah imagined it would be on the faster side, putting an edge over and competition.

"Question is, can it be done?"

Another look at the map, Jared was starting to see a bit of what was going to be the issues. This close to the galactic rim, there were so many anomalies, and it was why the Levantine Sanctum was so hard to find after the Gulag Plague. But well, with the right know how and go-getter attitudes, anything was possible. He was flying one of the family’s YT freighters, and not one kitted out for exploration like his dad’s primary ship. Jared would have to make a purchase for some additional tech for this job.

His mind did drift back to the conversation after a few moments. Politics was not something he was always here for. Jared didn’t get involved in anything beyond personal freedom and fascism. But this route? It’d connect a lot of people. As Judah said he had Corellian, Jared nodded and paced around the map.

“Challenge will be plotting it right.”
He paced and looked at the trio of worlds Gamorr, Lyran IV, and Last Wall. “Sometimes planets are laid out to let trade happen.” He muttered, as Judah outlined the companies that would be allowed. “Are we doing it for trade? To move people? An escape route for our kind of people?” He had worked on his father’s Great River project before. He knew about being a refugee.

“And it can, yeah, I’ll need to secure some ships, and we’ll need to get an approximate location of the route. Thats why I’m asking if we’re looking to be secret, or a trade route.”
If it was just the three ports of call, he had an idea.

Judah Dashiell Judah Dashiell

Taking a sip of his own whisky, Judah watched Jared Starchaser Jared Starchaser walk around the star map laid out. He had little in the way of any knowledge of astrogation. This best left to the professionals and Starchasers were the best. If people thought of salvage when they thought of Dashiell, then hyperlane came to mind when one mentioned Starchaser.

"Trade and commerce come to mind. Is this one of these situations where the planets are laid out for trade? Or will this be a diffcult venture with different starting and ending planeta? I'm deferring to you as the expert."

“I mean, I have three points, I can create a line between the three. It just may be skirting the galactic rim fairly closely.” Jared too another sip of his drink as he tapped on the projector to give him a form of ‘writing’ on the map. He connected the worlds of Bonadon, Hast, and Freehold. The arc was smooth. Even if it did skip from arm to arm when it came to the Hast to Freehold jumps. “But if you look at the Mara Corridor, it bends. If you have a few other points we can make it work.”

Jared had a few in mind. “Going through to hit Mon Cala may be difficult, but making a run to Ryloth to link up to the Mara or Corellian runs, and Tatooine? That could be done.” Based on what he knew, Tatooine was one of Arceneau's big worlds.

For whatever reason the business magnate loved the dirt ball.

"I am flexible on the planets. You're the expert."

Judah wasn't too concerned on which planets. He was more concerned about bridging one section of the 'verse to the other, especially since he was heavily involved in the Tingel Arm. With Makai's mining arm extending elsewhere, it was only wise to turn to a hyperlane that could quickly move goods and people. Good for business, good for their clients.

"Danger would appreciate a run to Tatooine. I think she stays there from time to time, plus its infamous for her. I think everyone equates Arceneau with Tatooine. As for Mon Cala, it is not necessary. Would it be easier to skip Mon Cala and just go straight to Ryloth? That way we could hook up with the Mara? Whatever needs to be done to make it happen, whatever planets I defer to you on."

Jared Starchaser Jared Starchaser

Flexible with the planets. That was good. Meant that there wasn’t anything special beyond the three indicated worlds. He had a few ideas of where to go, based one what he did know. His father kept good records, and so did Kaia. Not that the Starchaer company was too much of a ‘doing favors’ business. But they were explorers and trail blazers. That meant knowing who was where to get from A to C while going around B and then connecting to D.

Looking at the map, having an Outer Rim path connecting a few hyperlanes with a passby of Mon Cala? Seemed like a good idea. A big ship builder, and the spirit of the Rebellion always strong among at least one of the native species, Jared wanted to add that. “We could make it from Hast to Mon Cala, then out to the Tatooine/Ryloth area before making the final push to Freehold.” Actually, the path would be very smart.

“I can work out some rudimentary maps, but we’ll need a team or two of trailblazers to connect it all.”

Judah nodded. He figured that a crew would be needed. Question was ; who was assembling that crew? Himself? Jared Starchaser Jared Starchaser ? The old salvager was hoping it was Jared and the Starchaser Enterprises. It would take himself and Salacia far too long to figure out what was needed. If the Mirialan told him what he needed, then it made things incredibly easy.

"How about you tell me your price, I'll send the credits over, and a idea of what is needed besides a team. Then we can get rolling. Not sure if Danger Arceneau Danger Arceneau will want to include any Arceneau folks but I suppose we can reach out. Salacia of course is at your disposal."

For Jared it was more a question of who was going to be involved. His mind was already formulating a plot. It was connecting worlds that didn’t have their own trail blazed through, and using the gifts he had to get the team through the woods. But with something this big, and the prospective players involved? He was going to need a larger ship, and a crew. He’d have to reach out to the Levantines, for crew, and make sure he had people from Salacia, Arceneau, and Starchaser to help to some of the heavy lifting.

“I have the ship covered and initial fuel. Family makes exploration vessels. May need another shuttle or two to outfit the ship.”
Jared put some thought to it while he sat with the drink. “Got some state rooms for reps of the companies. Could use at least a representative from each, but if Salacia wants to get in on any kind of salvage or resource harvesting, I believe we can make some room on the floor of the ship for that. Plus mechanics. My company will provide some all the same, but, more hands and all that.”

“I figure we can start out in a few weeks, get people to meet at Laekia, then hop to the start and make the jumps… Can start running a bill based on extra equipment and fuel costs, and split any profits the ship may make along the way. I think we’ve got what we need. Sign the paperwork once we’re ready to start out!”

It was how his father made deals, word of mouth approvals until the job started. It’d work for this.
