Private Hypa Hypa [Waymar]

Josephine Halscott arrived on the Terisa Kerrill a Kimbrell-class Star Destroyer, one of the last projects her grandmother worked on. Ships that were scarcely seen outside of Dosuun and the First Imperial Coalition comprised of the old core worlds of the First Order. Given the size of the ship and the amount of registered Force Users on it, they were asked to dock elsewhere. From there they took their own shuttle down to the designated starport. They, being Josephine and her guards, and there at the Imperial Gate they would wait. Josephine realized that perhaps other nations were not as civilized so she could appreciate their efforts. It wasn't so much different on Dosuun, but then, Force Users were integrated into the everyday fabric.
She wore a simple business outfit and turned to one of the guards, "Hae" a trusted friend. "I'm sure this is just standard procedure for registered Force Users." She shifted her lips when the guard only huffed. "I didn't say it was pleasant, just standard." Josephine cleared her throat when she heard movement from where they were being held. "Please, hands, down," she moved to urge another of the guards "Yeon". It wasn't as if she was completely at the mercy of others, Josephine was more than capable of fending for herself.
The Galidraani had her paperwork ready, the First Imperial Coalition had its own system for registering Force Users but produced their own "passport" that held their status. Yes or No, for Force Sensitive, if Yes then it showed their level of training. She had what was considered Standard, so S. Advanced users had an A, and Imperial Knights were labeled with IK. She took off her glasses and exhaled, waiting was always the hardest part.

The port was otherwise fairly busy, but that was standard and Josephine's shoulders tensed up only briefly as she waited. "Once we're done with our checkpoint, we'll go to the offices."
"I've let our speeder know that we are delayed," Hae mentioned.
"Delamain is such a dear, tell them that I appreciate their patience."
"Of course."

ORDER OF THE IMPERIAL KNIGHTS
CHAPTER 'IRON CRUSADE'

dey0uhq-8b680685-9b7f-473a-a4a2-1e25925b1908.png

lMYGOLO.jpg

There was little exception any longer. The Iron Will decree brought forth by Rurik Fel not long after taking the throne of Emperor all but sealed the Empire’s borders to those without express permission to pass through them, the exceptions past those concerning commerce, diplomatic or approved visas were rare and while Primo Victoria was a corporate entity by which the Empire conducted business with relatively often, they were not exempt from the harsh scrutiny that Fel’s policies demanded of all vessels and goods traveling to and from the Empire, there would be no repeat of sedition the likes of Caelitus again nor would Imperial worlds be left vulnerable as Nirauan was.

Impacted by Rurik’s rule, Fel’s sweeping audits of the Empire’s systems, groups and people certainly worked to change a great deal of Dathrohan’s working curriculum. He had spent just over half a decade an Imperial Crusader, fighting the last days of the Third Imperial Civil War only to brave the bloody debut and campaigns of Order against Chaos, following his near fatal injuries in New Carannia, him and his ‘Strike Team’ of knights had been repurposed to serve in the interests of Imperial Inquisition until the front demanded them again.

His reward for living the Oath he’d taken and losing limb in battle was to be damned to a life away from war, a conflict he ever craved to take part in. With Bastion under the jurisdiction of Fel’s own Chapter- the Iron Crusade, Dathrohan was put on momentary duty to run investigations on any force sensitives that crossed through the Imperial Gate that failed to appear in the increasingly expansive database of the Empire’s citizenry.

Boring work, nothing he cared for. But of course, all still necessary.

He approached Josephine and her retinue donning the characteristic pale armor of the Imperial Knights, differentiated only in the fur cloak strewn over his shoulders to brave the abrasive winter winds that Bastion offered. He was a man of a taller, broader build with the weary markings of a man who'd seen war before but still carried himself with an air of nobility about him.

"Ms. Halscott was it? You have the required documentation, yes? And yes, I am well aware of how much of a crushing burden this process is you need not remind me." He said, clearly worn down from the frequent complaints and bickering over the processes, previous commercial regulars suddenly detained to searches and inspections due to a greater reach in policy.

He reached a hand out to take ahold of the datapad containing her documentation, flicking through it with his finger before looking back up to her with a raised brow.

"Galidraan...wherein the old country are you from, Halscott? I can assure you in recent years there isn't much of note back home but, might be worth the visit regardless." He remarks.

"But you come from the way of the First Order and you were not a First Imperial Knight by the looks of it?" He inquired, keeping an element of business after he eased the tension a bit.

Josephine like any Imperial had been taught of the harsh realities they faced while in service to the Sith Empire. A reality she never faced, nor had she faced the cruelties of war or the violence that seemed to plague the New Imperial Order. She noticed the man approach, he was adorned in armor not fitting of typical security. She gathered him for a particular role within the Order. Josephine studied his armor and put it to match with that of the New Imperial Order's Imperial Knights. Bastion by its nature was cold and harsh but then what cold climate planet was not harsh she wondered.
The starport continued on with its business, she noted that he stood a little bit taller than she did. Her security forces stood beside her, hands neatly clasped in front. She wasn't going to say anything but it seemed the man had had his share of security duties for the day. Josephine only offered him a small, warm smile while he looked at her documents. "Ah yes, crushing burden." Josie playfully remarked, she listened to him while he looked at her documents. "Oh, well," she paused a moment to decide how to answer that question. "Family is originally from Herevan, although my grandmother held the earldom of Eceni, and a cousin holds Tremaine County."
She exhaled nervously, "so a bit of here, and there."
The crisp Avalonian accent came through on her words. It developed over time from those who arrived from Galidraan, while at first it once mirrored that of Essex. It seemed a bit more... Posh and polished now, perhaps due to how Avalonians conducted themselves. Or perhaps due to how far away Dosuun was from Galidraan. "Ah no, I am not an Imperial Knight that was not my calling," Josie remarked with a softer smile. "But, I still have my uh, inhibitor." She motioned to the bracelet on her left arm, "per First Imperial regulation on Force Users, Section 3, Paragraph 42."
"And please, take your time, I can appreciate the enforcement of policy."

"Everyone who's come through here since 'IW' has complained about it and how they're running so late to something I don't care about." He said, his cybernetic right hand flicking through the last page of documentation before offering it back. There wasn't anything overtly out of place that he'd note as he arched a brow in her direction, offering a brief appraisal of the woman before him before he spoke up again.

"I've heard the names, can't say I've ever visited. - my family used to be the holders of County Vykern in the far North until later into the war. Haven't been since the Empire took it." He was there when the Empire purged Galidraan of what remained of any Sith influence, bringing several to the sword himself.

"Ah no, I am not an Imperial Knight that was not my calling,"

"It's not for everyone, it's not for very many at all as a matter of fact, but it was better than the alternative...those inhibitors aren't required by Imperial Law if you'd so choose but I'd bet anything you won't come across an official who will revoke it. What kept you from the Imperial Knights?" He asked, as much as all of the exterior of her approach seemed innocent enough, so did many that he'd had the displeasure of peering at under the lense of inquisition.

"You Dosuunian sorts typically keep to your corner of Imperialism though, what business in the Heart of the Empire? A change in loyalty or is it some...Primo Victorian matter?" He asked, inputting some posh emphasis on the corporation title as he offered a faint smile, one of the few positives of this arduous, nauseating work was the ability to take it with some ease, not as serious as warfare or battle.

Inhibitors were just helpful, she thought, and if someone didn't want to wear one then they had other options. There were teams trained to deal with those who went off the rails, "Force Psychosis" as it was sometimes referred to. Rather, at that moment, Josephine listened to Waymar his accent was enough to tell where he was from if he hadn't already given it away earlier. "I do have family who can see to securing your holdings if that is what you decide to pursue later on." She offered with that same disarming smile of hers.
"It is not, and the training, the type of work Imperial Knights do... Definitely meant for those better than I surely," she added, and fidgeted with the inhibitor. Perhaps it was her own fear of what she could be capable of that kept her from removing it. "I will definitely keep that in mind." A small gesture with her finger before she resumed fiddling with the inhibitor nervously. Her guards remained as stoic as ever, even when she happened a glance their way.
Waymar inquired on what kept her from the knights. "The Knights are a lifelong dedication, it is a craft, an art almost and the work they do- at least around Dosuun. Would have taken me away from the education that I wanted to pursue." In truth, Josie knew the schools they went to, everyone on Dosuun and throughout the old First Order did. They were a noble sort- those Knights, often representing some ideal or virtue such as truth, hope, patience. "I still wanted to serve the people, but not as their Knight, but rather as part of their government." Although even that was put on hold recently when Josie's aunt Ryssa invited her to join the family company.
"Oh," she seemed to exclaim, and quickly answered, "Primo Victorian." She copied his poshness but all still with a smile and bit of joy even in her voice as then went on to explain. "I am here actually to expand the brand's influence. It is among the first of my tasks given to me by my aunt." If Josie wanted any chance of beating Arthur Badaire Arthur Badaire at getting not just a seat on the board but being named her successor. "The other of my tasks would be to uh, enroll in an engineering program and see about revitalizing some of my grandmother's older designs."
"My aunt wanted me to have an education away from Dosuun, so that I could, and I quote, experience the galaxy." The motion of her arms and the tone of her voice indicated her displeasure with having been moved from Dosuun. "Away from uh, my family's elevated position of wealth and privilege."
Josephine then cleared her voice and commented, "not that uh, not that Bastion isn't lovely this time... Of year, these walls are quite nice." She stammered, a small movement of her hand pointing to the walls before they went back to fidgeting with the inhibitor. "Oh, uh, what did you say your name was? I don't think I got it."

"I do have family who can see to securing your holdings if that is what you decide to pursue later on."

"They're secured, went about the matter personally...just, under renovation we'll say. Not that I'm much the noble breed anymore." Dathrohan remarked. Though he certainly carried himself as the gallant knight of old that Galidraani folk legends might've described, he was too far gone and detached from the high born culture of the old world to consider a proper return. At least, not now. Maybe when his service was done or at the very least when he rose to the rank of Knight Commander.

But the circumstances of the nigh dissolution of House Dathrohan were darker than Waymar was willing to divulge in a space like this, even if it was Imperial business at the time.

Then came the description of the First Imperial Knights. He'd never the chance to fight or serve side by side with them, few if any of the Knights he'd known had but the shear knowledge that there was an Order that mirrored their own across the Galaxy was a fascinating foot note in itself.

"The Knights of Dosuun hardly differ from the Knights of Bastion." He said, spontaneously applying the moniker to the two organizations.

"But I've a feeling your Knights cared much more for drill and ceremony, tradition and all that than my order does. More so warfighters over anything else, don't have the time or resources to dedicate to much anything else." Waymar remarked. Ironic he said that, given he was managing a checkpoint to conduct inquisition on otherwise un-noteworthy force-users on what was the most fortified planet in the Galaxy.

"My aunt wanted me to have an education away from Dosuun, so that I could, and I quote, experience the galaxy."

"Away from uh, my family's elevated position of wealth and privilege."

"Oh is that right?" He asked, sporting a rare grin as he spoke.

"Is our Empire too rough around the edges by her standard or-?" He asked, offering up a laugh as he gave the woman a hard time over the matter.

"The name is Waymar Dathrohan, Knight-Captain of the Imperial Knights, Iron Crusade chapter, the Emperor's Own. It's a pleasure." He said, reaching out his right hand with visible cybernetics to her.

"Mhmmm," she scrunched up her nose and moved her head just a little bit, "I suppose noble depends on the definition."

The old world was just that Josie figured a planet she had no stake in. Galidraan was a place she had seen once or twice in her youth but had spent the majority of her years on Dosuun most especially after it was restored. She belonged House Halscott, a quiet, well-to-do family, a family that wasn't about to ruffle feathers. They held smaller properties when compared to Fortan, mostly noted as medical personnel. The blonde's paternal grandfather still held their family land and had survived the New Imperial Order's purge.

"Tradition, duty and ceremony yeah, there's a lot of that," the Knights of Dosuun had that luxury she gathered.

Josie noticed the grin the man sported as he laughed, she did take note of the cybernetic hand but took it all the same, "a pleasure Knight-Captain Waymar Dathrohan, of the Imperial Knights. Iron Crusade Chapter." She repeated with an even warmer smile. She noted the difference therebetween Dosuun and Bastion, they didn't have chapters in such a way. They had Knightly Orders as approved by Her Majesty and the Lord Commander of the Imperial Knights there.

She joined him in his laughter, chuckling - the nervousness had gone.

After a moment or so she remarked. "I wouldn't say so rough around the edges for her standards, she's afraid of nepotism."

"It's a little too easy for it to occur on Dosuun, even if my relation to the crown is distant. My relation to the Grand Moff who restored Dosuun, isn't so distant and that alone may lead people to... Simply tell me yes, or accept what I say as is without objections or questions." Josie's brows furrowed for a moment while she gathered her thoughts and ended with. "I don't have that here, there's no... cushion, I guess, if I fail out here.

"Just Waymar does fine, Miss Halscott." He replied in response to her sounding out the whole title. Surely he took it as it was, light hearted. But even still he didn't need anyone else getting the same idea and earbeating him with the same drawn out title over and over. It was good however to interact with someone but from the homeland but not so arbitrarily attached to the aristocratic customs that it came with, the familiarity but ease of the conversation allowed Waymar to lower his guard.

"I see- and so it's all or nothing. Where are you off to now? What's getting the attention of this fine Galidraani rose first?" He asked, offering a brief grin to the tease of his words, appraising her reaction as he crossed his hands over his hips.

"Is it immediately to corporate business or are you going to ease yourself in, enjoy a bit of what Ravelin has to offer first?" He inquired.

Josie replied, "Waymar it is."
Although she did wonder what type of Knight she could have been. The thought though vanished relatively quickly when Waymar inquired where she was going. Waymar's teasing of Galidraani Rose was enough for Josie to blush, a little more than she would have liked, "well." Still somewhat flustered over the compliment. "I uh, well, I do have to check into the office at some point today." There was a pause as she tucked loose strands of blonde hair behind her ear.
"But."
She mulled over whether or not to go to the office now, or later, "other than that I don't think I have any other pressing needs at this time." Barring some major emergency that required her to actually do something other than check to see if the lights turned on, and letting her aunt know she arrived on Ravelin in one piece. "So I suppose, I would be easing myself into the whole thing, and I would definitely be delighted to enjoy whatever it is Ravelin has to offer." Josie returned Waymar's teasing in kind, having placed emphasis on the word enjoy.

He kept an arched brow and an errant grin as she spoke, as another Imperial administrative official passed by to get the final verdict of her passage, Waymar offered a dismissive hand to him, all was well and under control evidently and it showed in the ease of his posture and mannerisms, a rare sight for an otherwise frigid Knight of the Empire. But such was the necessary decorum in war, and duty. This was Ravelin and for the past six years, a safe city if restrictive by the greater grip of Imperial Security Forces and the presence of the 501st's Legion Headquarters as well as the Iron Crusade, the Emperor's own defending the Imperial capital made it an impenetrable world and thus, for a man in Waymar's position at least, one to be well at ease within.

"So I suppose, I would be easing myself into the whole thing, and I would definitely be delighted to enjoy whatever it is Ravelin has to offer."

"Well, I'd not want to keep you from any official, corporate business...however, I can certainly make the time if you'd wish to better acquaint yourself with the heart of the Empire, Bastion's become somewhat of a second home to me and so I'd be a privilege." He offered to Josephine with a smile that warped several of the faint scars that ran over his features, long healed wounds from shrapnel and flechettes from the engagements he'd fought at the frontlines in through the Imperial Civil War and Second Hyperspace War to this point. He was hardly alone either, any quick glance to any passers by donning the field grey of Imperial uniform would offer similar stories, cybernetic limbs, scars, wounds. The New Empire was a tougher breed than many who came before it, a stranger to peace and a forever victim to war, it showed.

"But I certainly wouldn't wish to keep you from any pressing matter, Miss Halscott. My duty here is done, otherwise." He offered.

That errant grin hadn't been missed, Josie's own smile hadn't disappeared from her features. "Official, right." Officially she was there, and her guards could just as easily reassure her aunt that she had made it to Ravelin in one piece. it wasn't as if this was assured already the woman had made Josie use a star destroyer to get across the void. Waymar mentioned that Bastion had become something of a second home to him indicating that he was more than familiar with it. His offer didn't linger for too much longer, Josie gave her answer quite happily.

"And I would be so honored to have you with me, helping me to become better acquainted with Ravelin. After all, I'll most likely be here for a little while so may as well make the best of every moment." Josie turned to her guards and quietly whispered into their ears sending them on their way to informing her aunt of her arrival. All the guards with the exception of Hae, left he reminded Josie of his oath and his promise to uphold it. That meant staying beside Josie no matter what - and so she relented. Undoubtedly the Terisa Kerrill would be relocated to a secure part of Bastion's space while its crew disembarked.

The only real pressing matter would resolve itself and with that, "Lee Yeon and the other guards will see to it that my aunt is informed of my arrival. Checking into the office can wait. As I am more than certain that they will keep her up to date on my activities here. This is Lee Hae-Sung my guard who will accompany us." Mostly because Josephine had no way or idea of how to ditch him. Josephine looked away from Hae and cleared her throat before stepping ahead of her guard. "If you have no other matters to attend to yourself then I most certainly welcome your company, or if preferred we can meet up later."

Though it was a nebulous place of whether Waymar was sticking to his duty or not, he considered it a matter of 'diplomacy' and hospitality, to make good on offering an astute first impression of the Empire to an individual working in favor of private interest. Though Kuat Entralla and Technoid still produced the vast majority of Imperial starships and heavy warfighting industry, Waymar would not be the man to sour relations with another producing company.

He glanced between the dialogue of the woman's handler and herself, arching a brow for a moment before another Knight tapped Waymar on the shoulder, donning the very same uniform of argent armor beneath a dark cloak to brave the winter winds of Ravelin. Though it rarely snowed on Bastion, the city sprawl created for frigid notes of gust, and often.

He uttered something in a hushed tone to the other Knight who clutched a closed fist over his breastplate before taking his leave, Waymar turning his attention back to Halscott.

"A pleasure, Lee Hae-Sung." He said, offering his cybernetic hand to the guard before shifting his attention back to Halscott.

"I leave that to you, Miss Halscott. If later would be a better time then so be it- otherwise, I am quite free." He remarked, keeping the tone cordial with a faint smile offered her way, glancing back to the guard in faint wariness before all but blotting out the man's presence.

"Why don't we meet up a little later," she remarked with a smile, "where perhaps we can discuss Ravelin's grace and elegance in private." She also wanted to ditch her guard. Something conveyed through her expressions as she spoke with Waymar. "I will just, give you my comms." Josephine didn't take too long to produce a small datacard that held all the necessary information that the Knight would need. "Plus this will give me a chance to check in on the office and get things with my aunt squared away."
Although her guard seemed rather unamused with the idea that she was even going to attempt to be away from his sight. No matter, his duty to her was prime so he would consider the ways in which he could carry them out while remaining committed to the job. As Waymar blotted him out, so too did Lee dismiss the idea of Waymar.
Josephine was perhaps for the better of it, unaware of the silence between the men. "I am checked into one of the Grand Hotels nearby for the moment at least until the flat that I'll be in is finished." She gave Waymar a range of time in which she should be free in the evening. Undoubtedly, her aunt would already have assignments for her, tasks to complete so perhaps the time between would be put to use to ensure that aunt Ryssa was kept happy. "I look forward to seeing you later, Waymar." Josie concluded with the warmest of voices as she politely excused herself.

He returned the smile just as quickly as it crossed her own lips, nodding once in affirmation. Served him all the same. Though he was a Knight Captain among the order, elevating him to a le=vel of autonomy not granted to his equivalent rank in the other branches of the Imperial Armed Forces. However, he was hardly a man eager to leave his duties arbitrarily. It was out of character for any of the Empire's Knights and Waymar was hardly divergent from them. However, diplomacy was as much part of a Knight's reprotire as battle was and shoring relations with Primo Victoria would certainly serve the Empire well.

In that, agreeing to meet at a later time made the matter a bit easier on the consciousness for Dathrohand to cope with, nodding along with an agreeing smile to the woman. That farewell to the Knight certainly gave him reassurances, the warmness of the interaction a stark contrast from the air of frigidness expected of the Knights.

"The same to you, Miss Halscott." Waymar offered with a nod in return.

The rest of the day was as monotonous as the interactions preceding his chance meeting with the woman.

After the day was done, he was finally able to peel the shell of argent from his form, swapping the attire fit for war for one fit for ease. Though still formal, simple and pragmatic in uniform coloration, it was a welcome change of pace from the Knight's armor, as much as it grew to be a second skin for Waymar since his day of induction.

He made way from his own apartment within the Fel Redoubt complex which served as the main Imperial Knight hold for the Iron Crusaders to the hotel serving as Halscott's temporary residence, pinging her as soon as he'd reached the lobby he waited propped against an ornate pillar, a cybernetic arm crossed over the other as he waited, his saber still at his hip characteristically- the Imperial Knights of course the only persons in the Empire afforded such a privilege.

"I suppose I wasn't sure what else to expect from a woman of your prominence." He spoke up as she arrived to meet him, offering a warm smile as he uncrossed his arms, the cybernetic hand of bare metal and wiring showing itself once more.

"You look lovely, by the way." He commented, unable to recall the last he'd ever said similar. Never since being ripped from the court of his family's keep on Galidraan.

Owned by CGC Crown Resorts, a subsidiary of Primo Victorian the Imperial Grand Hotel was the epitome of Avalonian opulence in Ravelin. Wide-open floor plans with ease of access to the restaurant and bar. Ambulatories were neatly decorated with reminders of that classic Monarchy era feel that Galidraan prided itself on. Josephine for the moment lived in one of their "Regal" suites and it was where she was able to catch up on all her paperwork. Make contact with other galactic offices, especially after checking into the Ravelin office a few hours ago. She managed to convince her guards and handler to keep a distance for the evening.
She was excited to be meeting up with Waymar he seemed to be a level-headed, agreeable fellow and Josephine was eager to get a 'local' point of view. Going to the places left out of the brochures, not that there were many of those advertising trips to Ravelin back in Avalonia. No, the First Order promoted places like Seoul, Mephout, or venturing out to their old stomping grounds on Halm, Bespin, or heading to the water world, Qeravert IV. Ravelin, Josephine felt was just as important to visit - it was after all a key in Imperial history. She headed into the lift across the hall from her suite and checked herself over as the lift headed down.
It didn't take long for the lift to open its doors to the lobby. There Josephine stepped out in a beautiful, sleeveless red dress with a rather conservative neckline. Matching red heels, and a beautiful pale champagne chiffon shawl to cover her bare shoulders with. The blonde closed the distance between herself and Waymar, "thank you." She accepted his compliments with a smile, and returned, "you are looking rather dashing and handsome yourself."
"It helps that my aunt owns the hotel, and well, most Grand Hotels across the galaxy with the exception of hotels she has given to our cousin," Josephine noted matter-of-factly, as she pulled the shawl over her shoulders, her red clasp purse in one hand. "Now then, shall we be off?" She gestured toward the door, "I am eager to see what else this fine city has to offer." She also wanted to know more of the city's layout, become as familiar with it as she was with Avalonia.
