Original Source: Deviant Art

Intent: To provide a mechanism for dropping lots of drop pods on a planet. Specifically as a counter to the Fringe Finality-class ship, in terms of foot print on a planet.
Development Thread: None
Manufacturer: Imperial Shipworks
Model: Hyou-class Pod Carrier
Affiliation: Atrisian Empire
Modularity: Can hold either Tora or Banzai drop pods
Production: Mass Produced
Material: Durasteel
Description: The Hyou-class was purpose built for the deployment of Tora or Banzai drop pods. Seeing the utility of the Fringe vessel, the Emperor had Sampson's Designs created a new type of ship unlike any seen before. Using 1,320 launch tubes (360 per side and 600 bottom) and an internal rack system it can launch pods at a rate of one every 15 seconds per tube. If loaded entirely with Tora pods, the entire complement can be launched in less than a half hour saturating the ground with troops.

In preparation for this launch cycle troops must be pre-loaded into the pods, which takes approximately six hours. During which time the troops are isolated within their pods, only able to communicate through their comm units. In an emergency the process can be reduced to a half hour, but only by soldiers jumping into the closest pod without gear and without any semblance of order. In this situation the pods should be used as escape pods only.

To accommodate the internal rack system, and launch tubes, the Hyou is almost devoid of weapons. They are designed to be well protected by other ships, and are only brought to the front lines when enemy opposition has been crushed. Once troops have been deployed, the advanced communication system with heavy encryption allows for the management of the army on the ground. Multiple ships can link their com systems, to give complete tactical control.

Reloading pods and soldiers onto the ship takes an extensive amount of work, requiring a constant steam of dozens if not hundreds of shuttles to do in a timely fashion. Even then it takes up to a week to ready one of these ships for deployment.

Alrighty Akio, let's tackle this. I hate using other ships as precedence, but as the Ship guide really doesn't have a precedent for this I'm going to compare it to the Finality for the purposes of this submission.

Firstly, Dev threads. The Finality has two while this has none.

Secondly, Armament. The Finality has 40 effective point defense/flak/quad lasers, while this ship has 60, plus 6 turbolasers

Thirdly, this is mass-produced while the Finality is minor production.

Fourthly, passenger capacity. Between optimal crew, passenger capacity of dropships, and passenger capacity of the ship itself the Finality can carry a total of 242500 people. Using the same counting this ship has 343430/483530+ passenger capacity depending on drop pod configuration and how much a lambda-class shuttle is considered to have(With the wookiee listing it at 20+ each)

Fifthly, speed. This ship is faster then the Finality on two counts, with the Hyperdrive being 1 as opposed to 2 and the sublight being 7 as opposed to 9(because, let's face it the Finality doesn't matter if it isn't loaded).

Sixthly, the Cargo Capacity. The Finality can carry around 500 tons of cargo in addition to the dropships. This ship can carry 30 times that amount of cargo.

Seventhly, not only is this dev-threadless, faster, better armed, cheaper-to-produce ship able to carry over twice as many people and thirty times the amount of cargo, it is effectively an eleventh of the volume of the Finality, with the Finality having a volume of .8 cubic kilometers and the Hyou having a volume of .073 cubic kilometers.

Eightly, the intent. The Finality has been used, to my knowledge(as well as the knowledge of Faction Admins of the Fringe) in one RP, that being the Sith Invasion. The post where the Finality was issued happened two pages ago and since then no Atrisian characters have posted, which means the Atrisians don't even know the Finality exists, unless I'm missing something and an Omega Pyre/Mando/Sith Character is actually an Atrisian Spy.

This submission is thus denied, due to a metagaming intent, lack of dev threads(which are required to be completed before submission), as well as extreme powergaming. If you wish you may second chance this submission, by stating a link to this thread as well as your case for why the thread should be second chanced. If you decide to second chance this submission it is my personal recommendation that you heavily edit this ship prior, as well as complete a few dev threads, with at least one of them containing a way the Atrisian Empire would discover the existence of the Finality.
