SPECIAL FEATURES
  • A scaled up Defoliator capable of eradicating organic material in a one kilometer radius.
STRENGTHS
  • Defoliator: Much akin to its smaller predecessor, the Super Defoliator's fiery shockwave is capable of completely eradicating organic material.
  • Tamper-Proof: The presence of Glistaweb as an internal mesh effectively renders the Super Defoliator dead to the Force.
WEAKNESSES:
  • Shields: Deflector shields of any kind or size (from city-scale to personal) are completely immune to the Super Defoliator.
  • Deploy: The Super Defoliator can only be deployed via traditional dropping. Release from orbit will cause the weapon to explode within the atmosphere. An ideal drop is just above the target - which is well within anti-air range.
DESCRIPTION

The HV-8645 Super Defoliator is a highly covert project undertaken by the Confederacy.

As champions of freedom within the Southern Systems, the creation of such a vicious armament is one that would not go over well in the public eye. However, in light of the imperial adversary within arm's reach of their borders, the Vicelord personally commissioned the creation of a mighty deterrent. The Super Defoliator is, quite simply, a means of completely devastating a densely populated area. It was not designed with tactical value in mind, but rather for the claiming of as many lives as possible.

Upon being dropped above a target, a fiery shockwave rapidly erupts over the course of a one kilometer radius. This devastation has the unique trait of affecting organic material exclusively, meaning that the Confederacy's droid-based forces can proceed uninhibited. However, due to the method of delivery, the weapon does have the potential of being shot out of the sky before it reaches the ground. Successful detonation would wreak absolute havoc upon an urban environment's population whilst leaving its infrastructure and resources completely intact. As such, the Super Defoliator is ideal for the amassment of resources.

Or, more importantly, breaking the enemy's will to fight.

Very similar to the canon version, albeit bigger and with longer range. Has weaknesses against shielding, which is fairly commonplace in the modern galaxy, and its damage output isn't far different from most modern orbital weaponry. Looks good to me.

Awesome. Pending Secondary Approval. Thanks! [member="Jamie Pyne"]

Can you please give me a source on glistaweb being dead to the force?

Keep in mind that glistaweb is also a living organism, it isn't an article of clothing or a cloth.

For comparison's sake, what size bomb IRL would you compare this to, in terms of kilotons/megatons?

Please keep in mind that any kind of shockwave would still harm droids.

It's miniscule compared to the nuclear weapons of this year. I linked Fat Man as a direct comparison in the primary source. It can affect one kilometer, which in the scope of reality or Star Wars is tiny compared to what is normally fielded.

As for the shockwave, Not really seeing much affect from canon. While I recognize that an artillery shell has a lesser shockwave than a nuclear explosion, the droids were unscathed. It doesn't seem like the shockwave does much as far as kinetic force, but simply burns through the organic material.

Are you submitting an atomic bomb or are you submitting a larger scale version of the incendiary artillery weapon, the Defoliator, from canon?

If this is not a nuclear weapon, please remove the Fat Man from the primary source - a nuclear weapon is not a fire bomb, it's going to create a massive explosion and the shock wave is going to be more than enough to destroy droids, especially B-1 Battle Droids, caught within it at the 21 kilotons that the Fat man sits at. Especially given the fact that droids are not immune to explosives, which is exactly what an atomic bomb is.

In either case, this needs to utilize the ranged weapon template.

Added the Range Template, with a lot of N/As due to it being a bomb that has to be dropped.

Removed Fat Man from the Primary Sources. Updated special features to say "upscaled Defoliatior" to make it perfectly clear what it is.

Per this being an upscaled version of the canon defoliator, please add additional wording to let readers know this is through fire.
