Hutt Ball

The blaring horn of the start of the evening stirred Thom from his brief nap. He rose swiftly in a single motion, his mind breaking through the idle fog of near exhaustion he had been under for the past week during his journey to the planet of lol. He had arrived just that morning, securing a room in one of the few hotels offered to off world travelers. The rest on the planet had long since been converted into housing blocks for the thousands of mining 'workers' that lived on the planet in abject poverty. Moving to the window of his room, Thom glanced down briefly at the ever increasing crowd on the smog clouded streets. He could not see their faces from here, but their gaits and and down turned heads gave Thom enough information.

Sadly, he was not here this day to change their fates in this life. He had come here to kill.

He moved across the space of his room, opening the suitcase he had brought with him, and began to put on the various pieces of his armor. In short order he was fully armored and armed, strapping the last of his spare knives to his hip and back, and checking the power packs on his pistols before he slid them into their holsters. Sliding his helmet on, Thom took a deep breath as his suits systems began to come online, flooding him with new information and stimuli as he strode slowly back to the window. Reaching up, he tapped the side of his helmet three times in rapid succession, blinking his eyes to adjust as his visor zoomed in on the massive building across the street from his hotel.

The mining guild headquarters for this sector of the planet was truly a marvel of engineering. Compared to the other run down buildings, the pristine walls and beautiful banners hanging from glass windows looked like they belonged on some pleasure world somewhere in the galaxy. And within those walls was Gotru the Hutt. A minor Hutt lord within their criminal empire, but one with strong connections to the slave trade in several different parts of the galaxy. A bounty had been placed on his head less than a month ago, and Thom had taken it without question. Killing Hutts was one of his favorites things in life, and one so well connected to their slaver organizations only sweetened the deal. When the Hutt had learned of the bounty, he had fled here to lol, where many Hutt slaves were purchased to replace the inevitable losses of those that worked in the harsh conditions of the mines. He thought he would be safe here. There was even a festive ball to be thrown later this night. Gotru was confident he would be able to wait out this bounty here.

Thom had come to prove him wrong.

Turning away from the window, Thom began to piece together a long barreled rifle, before finally equipping a hook to the end of it. The headquarters of the mining guilds were designed to defend against the regular slave uprisings here. As such, their defenses focused more on what was below than above. Thom had picked his hotel room specifically with that thought in mind. Leveling the rifle on one of the highest spires of the headquarters, he fired the hook, shattering the window in the process. He watched as the arcing hook flew through the air before beginning to descend. It finally latched onto the railing of the spire across from Thom, locking into place with magnetic clamps. Flipping the rifle in his hand, Thom activated its own mag lock and secured it to the ceiling of the hotel room. Gripping the barrel of the gun, Thom twisted it suddenly. A moment later, he shot out the open window, the barrel of the rifle flying along the connecting wire between rifle and hook, carrying Thom along with it.

It was time to get to work.

Adenn had recently taken a bounty, his first in some time, what with his duties to various parties keeping him away from the hunt. Not today though, he had managed to find himself some free time, and had taken a bounty on some hutt that had fallen out of favor. It should be an easy hunt, hutts weren't known for their fighting skills after all, only in how they ripped people off. That was irrelevant though, for Adenn was nearing the end of his hunt. The sleemo hutt had run to the Unknown Regions, hoping to hide there, and picking a rather dismal spot to hide. A planet called lol, it truly was a dismal place, a place where the rich got richer and the poor got poorer, with no end in sight for the monotony of repetition. Adenn would love to stick around and fight for the slaves, free them and kill some enforcers, but first he'd have to finish his contract.

Grunting in annoyance, Adenn made note of the festivities that would occur that night, it'd be a good way to escape unnoticed. For now though Adenn was in over watch of the mining guild headquarters. He was looking through his new verpine sniper rifle, scanning the building for any weakness, when he saw a figure leaving one building and traveling towards another. Zooming in, Adenn discovered this was a person in Mandalorian armor; surprised, Adenn watched in silence as the figure traveled towards the railing. Shaking his head, Adenn made a snap decision, he'd help this Mandalorian, hopefully in exchange, the Mando would help him.

Grinning in disguised delight, Adenn moved away from his over watch position, then he made his way towards the building. Once close enough, but still in the cover of some rocks, he looked around to make sure that no one was nearby, once he was sure of it, Adenn made his move. Activating his jetpack, Adenn flew up, above the rocks and high enough to not be seen. He then flew towards the headquarters, careful to mask his approach under the smog of industry that lazily drifted through the sky. Once close enough, Adenn dropped down towards the ground and away into cover, careful to conceal himself completely. He was approximately 25m away from where the other Mandalorian would arrive, but also concealed so not to be easily seen. Grinning then, Adenn slowly began to make his way towards the building, intent on coming in through the bottom, but doing so quietly.

Thom gripped the railing tight, hauling himself over the side. Just as he did, the guard he had spotted earlier on his way over drew close. Before the man could utter a single word Thom planted one of his knives in the mans neck, silencing him quickly as he leaned the body against the tower wall. He could toss the body over the side, but doing that might very well alert his target and any other foes of his arrival before he was ready. He despised stealth most days, but he understood at times it was necessary. Rising to his feet, Thom briefly wiped the blood of the knife on the mans shirt before quickly moving along the railing, drawing the sidearm at his side. It was not a blaster pistol, but a slug pistol. On the end of the pistol was a silencer, a level of quite offered to him that would have been near impossible with a blaster weapon.

He pulled open the door of the tower, slipping inside and letting the door close quietly behind him. His helmet adjusted immediately to the sudden light change, ensuring Thom never suffered for a moment as he scanned the room he was in. The room was clear for the moment, and Thom walked quickly across the room and began descending down the staircase at the back of it. Glancing down, Thom began to descend carefully, both hands gripping the silenced pistol as he constantly scanned the area. He had not spotted any surveillance equipment thus far, a sloppy move on his foes part. Likely they had never expected to need it this far up. He would make them regret their leniency.

Just as he was about to get to the bottom of the tower, footsteps echoed above him. He came to a halt, falling into a combat crouch and snapping his pistol up, his helmet sensors switching over to a thermal scan when he could not get a direct line of sight. Most of the tower dissapeared, replaced by four bright red and yellow forms moving swiftly down the staircase Thom had just come from. Just as he was about to move to meet them, the sound of a door opening below him halted him. Another quick scan showed another four figures coming up from below. So, maybe the target did know Thom was here. That would just make things more interesting. Thom drew his second pistol from his hip, quickly equipping its own silencer as he moved to the edge of the railing. If he could keep this as quite as possible, then just maybe he could deal with this small group without pulling in too many other guards. It was possible they knew he was here, and he felt that entirely likely that they did, but there was still the off chance this was a regular changing of the guards.

Gripping the side of the railing, Thom jumped over the side and hurtled towards the first group below him.

OOC: Sorry for the delay.

Adenn neared the outside door of the tower, there were 2 guards watching over the door and the surrounding area. Within the premises itself, Adenn couldn't see very far with his thermal, but that was ok, he worked well in the unknown. Smiling to himself, Adenn pulled out his verpine shattergun and lined it up with one guards head, and subsequently the others as well. Making sure no one was close, Adenn then squeezed off a shot, felling both guards with one silent blast.

Looking around, Adenn noted that the kills had gone unnoticed, thankfully. Smirking to himself, Adenn quickly hid the bodies before sneaking his way inside the building. At the end of a short hallway were 2 more guards, which Adenn quickly and silently dispatched with a stab to the neck and shot to the head respectively. Smirking confidently, Adenn continued on in. Scanning the area with his thermal vision, Aden noted a rather large group of heat signatures nearby in the tower, along with some other groups further away. He didn't know what that was all about, but suspected that those in the tower were somehow involved with the other Mandalorian. Wondering why exactly, Adenn decided to sneak over towards the tower.

On the way Adenn was surprised by another group of four guards, they were also making their way towards the tower. He managed to eliminate the first 2 quietly, but the other 2 noticed something was amiss and turned around. One let out a half shout before being stabbed in the neck, while the other ran full tilt towards the tower door. That guard opened and closed the door to the tower quickly, only to come across carnage. He had come right towards the group that was fighting with Thom.

Not that it mattered, because seconds later Adenn was there as well, quickly putting a shot through the mans head. Smirking, Adenn looked up only to see the other Mandalorian. Surprised, Adenn realized he was in the tower and also that the other Mando was technically on his side. Then he remembered there was a large group of heat signatures from above, so Adenn would have to help out the other Mando. Sighing, Adenn entered the tower area, being careful to avoid Thom and his group fighting.

Adenn quickly rushed up the stairs and towards the group coming down, then he quit literally ran into them. The guards were surprised and only the rear ones were able to make any sounds, while the front 2 only gaped. Adenn used that to his advantage. He placed a shot through the first guards head, stabbed the other through the neck, before holstering his pistol and grabbing the other 2 by their necks. Lifting them up, however slightly, Adenn used his crush gaunts to crush their necks. While they hadn't managed to make any sounds, their weapons clattering down the stairs did.

Sighing once more to himself, Adenn placed the bodies down and went down the stairs towards Thom, intent on seeing what the other Mando was there for.
