Hunting Krayt Dragons

Everyone has at one point or another heard about Krayt Dragons. They know that the animals are massive, vicious and had pearls within them that could be sold. People knew that those pearls could be taken and sold, or used in lightsabers. There was an obstacle to getting said pearls though; that obstacle was the Krayt Dragon itself. They were fierce, and caused all natives of Tatooine to run and hide. However, these mighty beasts could be killed and they could be tamed. Adenn had heard all of this, though most of it didn't interest him. What did interest him though, were the pearls, and the fact that they could be tamed. So it was that Adenn decided to head to Tatooine and kill and capture/tame some Krayt Dragons.

Others had heard of Adenn's plan, and had decided to join him(anyone who I list in the @ at the bottom, and perhaps a few I missed). They came as they pleased, anywhere from their own ships, to staying the flight in someone else's ship. They traveled from Mandalore to Tatooine. The trip took 2 days, and by that time everyone was more than ready to go hunting.

After receiving permission from the planetary authorities, the ships entered orbit above/near the Dune Sea. There, Adenn left the Aegis Eternum. He went down to the planet with a small group of his own Mandalorians. This group was headed by Gunner, and accompanied by 5 AT-ADs.
Adenn would wait a few minutes for everyone to arrive on the planet. When everyone will have arrived, he would give them a quick briefing.

"Alrighty, listen up. General Aya was so kind as to allow this to happen. So, you all know why we're here, to hunt some Krayt Dragons. However, we've come at what some may describe, as a bad time. The reason is that it's mating season for them. That means that more will be out and about, and more will be clumped together. This is something good though! It means we won't have to search as much. We'll just find the biggest group, and hunt it. We'll be sharing somewhat equally. Of course, if the kill is yours, so is the pearl. Though, I'm sure some of us will want to perhaps get some Krayt Dragon Eggs. So, do NOT destroy any eggs. If you don't want one, offer it to someone else. I for one want at least one, as well as some Krayt Dragon pearls. Work together vod, and we'll be victourious. Oya vod, oya!"

With that said, Adenn backed up a few steps to let the people mingle. Some could even ask him some questions. Though, whenever everyone was ready, they would move out(will be after everyone is in).

They were Mandalorians, the fiercest warriors in the entire galaxy; and they were going to go and hunt one of the fiercest animals in the entire galaxy. Boy was it a good day to fight, and a great day to be a Mandalorian. Oya!

Krayt dragons, stardust had fought one years and years ago, even today she remembered how hard it was to fight them and yet it still excited her on the fact she would get to fight one again today or maybe more but she wasnt really looking to go and kill a lot just one for the pearl and egg maybe she heard they made good mounts and even companions.

So to the planet of tattoonie she went, following word that a mandalorian was holding a hunt. She arrived in a small drop ship and landed gently into the sand as she pushed the canopy open and hoped out and started for the group, today she was armed with her normal stuff just a few thermal detonators on her. Standing she spotted the man and chuckled seeing who it was and waited till everyone mingled as she approached him

so we meet again vod haha todays a good day to hunt some krayt dragons and dont worry I wont interrupt this on

Adenn blinked twice behind his helmet. This was certainly not someone he expected to see here. He kept his cool though. He extended his arm for a Mandalorian handshake(clasping each other by the arms, instead of hands)
"Aye, we meet again. This time under better circumstances. I'd certainly hope you don't interrupt, but join in. We need all the vod we can get. Besides, the more the merrier. Feel free to mingle as you wish. Though be ready, we'll be leaving within the hour."

Azure shielded her eyes as the cargo bay doors of the ship opened. "So this is what a desert planet is like?" The witch looked over at Sterling next to her. "How do you handle how bright it is? Honestly, it's far too bright." She stepped out of the ship, followed closely by Cuddles, and gave the others gathered a small wave. "Hello! It's nice to meet you all, my name is Azure, and this is Cuddles!" At the mention of her name, Cuddles let out a growl, and seemed to be glaring at the assembled Mandalorians. Clearly, the Rancor was not enjoying the sudden climate change forced upon her. "Remind me what we're hunting today? I've never heard of them before."

[Sterling Kinslayer]

While Azure may not have felt at home, the moment the warmth hit Sterling he felt more at home than ever. In fact, he took the extra effort to undo his coat, and shirt for that matter, tying the former around his waist by the sleeves. The hot sun against his white scales, which covered the majority of his body, felt like a loving, long forgotten embrace, the low hum in his throat a clear indication of how delighted he felt. The white scales that covered his back and arms glistened, leaving only his hands, save for the backs, his face, and the area of his chest covering the sternum clear. The still recovering claw markings on his pale chest were still healing quite nicely, if still visibly raw.

More delighted sounds escaped his throat as he walked off, his weapon, the Fist, opened up as he loaded two shells into the chambers slowly, enjoying the temperatures and bright lights on him. "Warms blood, comfortable. That is how. Warms scales well." He spoke roughly to Azure, in response to her question, as the weapon's barrels were brought up with a satisfying click, before being carried calmly beside her. He looked at the group assembling, and nodded his head to them. "Sterling." The word in particular seemed to be stuck in his throat, as he tried to say it smoothly as he could.

Evidently, he'd rather be doing than speaking, as his tail twitched a bit behind him, as he waited for the hunt to begin proper.

[Jade Solus Skirae]

This was one of those times where she was glad her racial traits allowed her to handle bright environments, She had her full arsenal with her including her armor that shined its chrome color as she looked around she only recognized [member="Stardust Australis Skirae"] who she has been pretty much everywhere with and then some but the others she didn't know. She looked to see who arrived aside from Stardust, She looked over to see a young Echani woman who didn't look like much but she knows better then to judge a book by its cover and the Echani might have a use she hasn't seen yet. She turned to the rather large and armed Trandoshan that was obviously enjoying the heat so thats a plus as Trandoshans are very good at hunting and tracking that she respected and she turned to the Mandalorian that did his briefing which was simple, Hunt the Krayt dragon get some pearls and more importantly an egg or two she only said one thing.

If I get a pearl thats a secondary bonus the main concern I want are a couple of eggs for my zoo, Who ever wants the pearls are welcome to them.

Once everyone was here, Adenn gave his speech(see the first post, that big one). Then, Adenn looked around while standing next to [member="Stardust Australis Skirae"]. He saw several unique people, and also heard someone talk about an animal zoo. He did a double take at that, what kind of zoo could it be, could he use one of the animals. There was only one way to find out. Excusing himself from Star, Adenn quickly walked over to [member="Jade Solus Skirae"]. He extended his hand for a quick greeting, before retracting it if she shook it/put it down if she didn't
"Hello there ma'am. I'm Adenn Kyramud, the organizer of this hunt. I had a question for you. You said you had a zoo? May I speak to you after this hunt. I'd like to see what animals you have, and if I could possibly buy one or more."

After having said that, Adenn turned around towards the assembled group and gave them all a quick message.
"Alright Mandos, the hunt will begin within the hour. Make your final preperations, and then we'll head out. There has been a large group of Krayt Dragons spotted North East of here. We'll be headed there to hunt them. This is going to be big, so be ready for anything! Oya"
Having said that, he turned back to the woman and awaited a response.

Roughly 15 minutes later, everyone was double ready. They had mingled and talked, at the same time Adenn was in the command tent and reviewing some information. That info being that one of the largest groups of Krayt Dragons ever had been spotted. It was currently north-west of their current position. This information was fairly recent, so it would be accurate, though the dragons could be on the move once again soon. So, wanting to move quickly, Adenn left the tent and called everyone close to him.
"Alrighty, the largest group of Krayt Dragons ever seen has been spotted north-west of here. They are near some caves, so perhaps they have eggs in there. The estimated amount of KDs there is 13, though there may be more. We cannot be sure, so be ready for a fight. But then again, that's why we all came here for. A good hunt/fight." Adenn chuckled at that. "If you have any questions, ask them now. If not, we'll be on our way then."

1) If someone asks questions, they are answered then we move out and the post where I answer will be when we arrive at the area
2) Nobody asks questions, and we move out immediately and the next post will be us arriving at the designated area

Azure hummed as she looked over to Sterling, and tilted her head as she watched him partially undress. "I see... Cold blooded, then?" Azure listened to Adenn's speech, before looking over at Sterling, noticing his scarring. "That wound of yours might get irritated in the hunt, would you like me to heal it up for you on our way there?" Cuddles grumbled and rolled her eyes and head, seemingly bored. The rancor flexed her claws in anticipation of a hunt, and eyed the other Mandalorians with annoyance. Azure pat her Mount's arm, causing Cuddles to lean down so Azure could get onto the saddle, preparing to move out.

"Scar fine. Sun good for healing. Important scar." Was it hard to believe Sterling was eloquent for his kind? Perhaps if they chanced upon a Komo tribe on this expedition they may believe it to be so. At least his thoughts were understandable when he gave them. Seeing as there was some time left, he took the opportunity to return to the ship, returning with several lengths of cord wrapped around him, over his left shoulder and by his left hip, and a number of climbing pitons dangling from the cords. Clearly he had ideas on how to hunt the big lizards, perhaps climbing above the cave to get a vantage point. Perhaps he thought he could somehow pull the cave atop them, who knew honestly. He knew, obviously, but that's neither here nor there.

All prepared and apparently without much need to introduce himself, seeing as the collective group felt little need to discuss much with him, leaving the large man to enjoy the heat. He even dug his hands into the sand a bit to feel the warm granules sifting through his fingers, it was so good to feel so at home. Far better than the forests, and the cold nights he had to drive the heating bill up for. This was where he was in his element.

Stardust mingled around with the others, stretching our as she knew this battle was going to be rough but a good challenge to try and face one alone maybe even tame one would be nice to have one as a mount

I'm ready to go, bern awhole simce I've fought a dragon this should be a fun challenge!

Stardust said as she popped her neck grinning as she hummed quietly now to herself

As Adenn was about to order everyone to move out, he received a call from his ship.
"Sir, we managed to fix those speeders! We're sending them down now, enough for everyone and the droids." With that, the cal was cut.
Adenn turned to the assembled group with a grin behind his helmet. He had thought they would need to walk all the way there, but now they wouldn't and could simply fly close to the location.
"Alrighty, listen up." As he started, a drop ship came by and dropped of some speeders. "We just got some speeders fixed and can take them close to the location, before we hop off and head there on foot." With that said, Adenn turned around and hopped into the drivers seat of one of the speeders. He loved flying, and this was a close second to that. Waiting until everyone was in a speeder, except the Rancor and possibly Azure, they departed when everyone was ready.

Said site happened to be in a canyon, with the cave entrances on the sides. Deciding to see what they would be facing first, Adenn snuck up to the edge of the cliff to look down at the KDs. When he looked down, he saw 8 Krayt Dragons. Not as many as reports had indicated, but then again, it came from locals; and those locals were known to exaggerate things greatly. However, 8 KDs was still nothing to scoff at. Adenn looked across at all of them, and noted that all of them were Canyon Krayt Dragons. Suitable, since they were in a canyon. More pearls and eggs for all of them. Adenn waited though, he wanted to see if any eggs had been lain and some other information for the hunt.

She didn't say anything as she listened and looked over her team they had hoped to fight 13 krayt dragons? She partially hoped only that was false information as she loaded up her gear, She only nodded when [member="Adenn Kyramud"] mentioned stopping by her Zoo after wards. We will talk after this hunt. She looked as the speeders where dropped off and hopped onto one of the speeders and followed Adenn and the others to the canyon, She hopped off her speeder and joined the scouting of the canyon and was pleased abit to see only 8 instead of the 13 canyon krayt dragons originally rumored to be here, She started scanning the environment and seeing what she could use to aid her in this hunt against these beasts. She knows these beasts will be difficult even with there current crew but she was confident they could handle these creatures and the brightside of this was simply more eggs and pearls to collect and more dragons for each of them.

Azure watched, curious, as the speeders were dropped down. She'd never ridden one before, and honestly didn't trust herself with the advanced technology of the rest of the galaxy. Cuddles got into position to start sprinting, growling with anticipation. Her rider stayed silent as they were briefed, and when the others sped off, Cuddles struggled just a bit to keep up. It's all right Cuddles, just keep going.

The Rancor was unused to traversing desert sand, and honestly? She already hated it. As the group approached the canyon, Azure dismounted Cuddles and drew her blade, waiting patiently. Her mentor's teachings of patience during an important hunt keeping her calm in the face of unknown.

Sterling hated this machine, having to catch a ride with the others since he had no idea how to pilot a speeder. Frankly he'd have preferred to make the long trek across the sands on foot, enjoy the pleasant, mild weather, but it seemed he wouldn't get the luxury. Still the hot sun warmed him quite pleasantly the entire ride, until he finally stepped off and got to walk with the others. The warm sand, the bright sky, the thrill of a hunt, it was all delightfully perfect. He followed them up to the cliff edge, watching Azure draw her sword. They were at the top of a rather sizable canyon, and both himself and Azure lacked anything long range enough to hit down below. It didn't look too far, comparatively, and he was able to estimate the size based on his experience with such environments.

He took off the climbing gear, and tested the rope. To his surprise it had a lot of give, not quite a bungee cord but very much what he'd need. Sturdy but with give... He walked off to the side a bit, taking one of the pitons and implanting it at the top of the canyon a bit away from the group while they planned. They'd no doubt miss him not taking part, seeing as he wasn't very talkative, leaving him plenty of time to pull out the appropriate length of the rope/cord. He tied that around his waist, leaving the coat he had up top, and made sure the remainder of the rope was still secure for later. With that all done, he returned to the group, off towards the side he had strayed to so no one would be between him and that piton.

He double checked that his shotgun was prepped, before taking a few steps back, and sprinting past the group to the cliffs edge. And, of course, jumping off, having faith in the cord. To his relief it seemed more than stable, and he begun to swing through the canyon, getting a good look at some of the Krayt's looking around as if they smelled something odd. Well that was no good, the prey deserved to know he was here. So he let out a dragon like roar of his own, and even without speaking as he did the tone was clear. Sterling was straight up challenging the Krayts, as he swung at them to get a better shot.

Stardust took a speeder, the sound of sand hittimg her armor echoed in her ears as she relaxed back into the seat centering herself within the force. She knew that coming out of this unharmed was a rather low chance knowing after this her arms would be another round of repairs again remembering last time she fought one it had crushed her arms resisting being held down by the force.

Hopping off stardust crouched and looked over the edge, 8 of those dragons, plenty for everybody. Glancing to the giant lizard as he had a rope around him and raised a brow, then shook her head looking out again as she squinted and nodded her head as she picked out one she wanted for a mount, massive red krayt dragon that looked like it had a few scars on it away from the group a bit. Turning to those gathered she spoke and pointed it out

leave that one to me I want it for a mount

It was about that time that sterling junped and swung across the cliff, stardust watched him and blinked....what a crazy person however brave indeed. Quick on her feet she started for the red dragon as it glanced up at the roaring of sterling letting a growl out. Stardust pulled a westar put and fired above it as she started slowly towards it and popped her neck putting her westar up and removed her helmet as she stared it down

It roared at her and stomped on the ground as she roared herself and charged

Once Adenn had examined the battlefield, he came up with a plan. So he had called everyone over to tell it to them. He mentally shrugged when he saw the lizard go a bit away and prepare some climbing gear. He simply hoped that the lizard would wait until everyone was ready. Then Star said she wanted to go for the massive red lizard with scars. Adenn nodded his head, he was fine with that. He himself wanted to go for the biggest one there, it was huge, red and had tons of scars on it. It was also in the center of the group.

Then, everything he had planned was completely derailed by one lizard. The lizard had jumped off of the cliff with his rope and swung right AT the Krayt Dragons. At first Adenn was angry, his plan was for naught. Then Adenn was a bit surprised and impressed, not many he knew would do something so gutsy. But he was still shocked, and then Star jumped down to attack the other Krayt Dragon. Adenn was doubly surprised now, and he was mad. So, with a sigh that truly expressed his disappointment in them, Adenn turned to the others and said.
"Welp, this plan is gone. Let's just wing it, Oya!" With that, Adenn turned around and jumped off the cliff.

Halfway down the cliff, he activated his jetpack and flew towards the lizard. A Krayt Dragon had come straight for him, opening his mouth wide open. The lizard could possibly land on its face, but Adenn didn't want to risk that. So, it was short moments later that Adenn slammed into the lizard and brought him to the ground. The Krayt Dragon snapped right above them. Dragging them both back to their feet, Adenn simply said.
"I'll leave this one to you. Next time, give me a headsup though before you pull something that ballsy. I want to join in."

Then, Adenn jetpacked away. He flew up for a moment and watched as the Krayt Dragon charged Star. It reared up on it's back legs before jumping at her. He knew she could handle it, so he left her to it. Turning in the air, he quickly spotted his target. Upon seeing it, he upped his helmets volume to max and roared at the Krayt dragon while he flew at it. The beast turned around, recognizing a challenge when he heard it, and then it saw him. It reared up on it's back legs and roared right back.

And then it charged him. At the last moment, Adenn did a flip over the Krayt Dragons head and landed on his neck. He pulled out his westar and began shooting it in the neck. At the same time he grabbed his lightsaber and started stabbing.

In the meantime, the rest of the forces(NPCs) had reached the edge of the cliff. the AT-ADs started shooting at Krayt Dragons not engaged with anyone, and the Mandalorians either stayed up on the cliff to shoot down, or went down to help anyone with their Krayts(you may say that some Mandos came to help you out, if you want too). A fight had started, and it would be glorious.

Azure watched the dragons, picking out a target to hunt. She was caught off-guard by Sterling running off the edge and roaring at the dragons. Color her impressed. Cuddles huffed, fully expecting the Komo to get eaten as she walked to the edge of the cliff. Seeing as any plan was thrown out the window, Azure pat Cuddles' head. "All right, let's go Cuddles. It's been a while since we've had a good hunt, let's make it fun." Azure guided Cuddles a few meters back, before strapping herself more securely to the saddle, and letting out a battle cry as the two ran towards the edge. Cuddles roared as she jumped off the edge, heading for the head of a medium-sized Krayt, digging her claws into it's scales, and gripping onto it as it thrashed, trying to throw the two off even as Cuddles clawed at its eyes.

Seeing as everyone else has decided to jump in guns blazing she took our her heavy pistols and leaped down to join the battle, everyone had already picked there dragon She went for the nearest krayt dragon as she leaped up from the wall face and went to try and decided instead of trying to kill it why not make it her pet. She did her best to make the Dragon know she was challenging it as it stomped towards her with a roar she began he charge towards the beast.

Well, there went the plan to redirect himself with the shotgun to get around and behind the krayt. Sterling had no one to blame but himself to be fully honest, but at least he was alive. Adenn's actions caused the cable to be snapped apart by the Krayt instead of him, so at least he wasn't tied to a rock well above himself, and a delicious appetizer to the beast. So, with the tattered cord around his waist being undone, he stared at the Krayt he had landed by. Tall, big, it wasn't the red monstrosity that Star had picked but it was definitely a mighty one. The fire from above of the droids and others on the hunt seemed to do little more than separate him and the krayt from the others, but the way his tail flicked and twitched he seemed to only be delighted at that fact. Another defiant, dragon like roar challenged the beast as he calmly walked towards it, bringing another length of cord with a piton tied to the end out, spinning it casually like a giant rope dart.

The beast made the first real move, lunging forward at him. Now while Sterling was no agile fighter, he was capable of jumping to the side, managing to avoid the gnashing teeth and slammed the piton into the beast's eye cavity. When it began to roar in pain, he attached another piton to the rope, went under the beast, and slammed a second piton into that eye cavity as well. with those two secured, he threw the rope up over its head, and caught it down below. The rope now was secure as every motion the beast made only dug them in deeper with no real way to remove them. When it reared its head though, the thing managed to knock Sterling back, sending him flying onto his back quite a ways away with the loudest thud one could imagine.

He shook his head, grinning even as spat out a bit of blood from the impact. This was going to be fun. He prepared a second rope, to repeat the same process as before with the opposite eye first, and began his approach, tunnel visioning and ignoring everything but his prey.
