A shift in power and ownership within Corondex Arms prompted the Helix Syndicate to terminate their supply contract with the company. Something as important as the Syndicate’s armory could not be left to an unknown or unreliable variable. To replace Corondex, capital was invested in the establishment of Myton Defense on the planet of Jaemus. Just another simple arms manufacturer, although this one had the benefit of being securely in the pocket of the Helix Syndicate.
Shortly after its inception, Myton designed and launched the HSWS line of weapons, beginning with a release of energy weapons under the A0 series. As with all weapons in the A0 series, it has been optimized for use in conjunction with the Sagittarius-Class Targeting System. Those equipped with the Sagittarius will notice an increase in accuracy.
A01s aren’t meant to be fancy, just reliable. The charged shot function is a nifty feature, but aside from that and its added stun setting, it’s fairly mundane. The charged shot packs a real punch, though it takes five seconds to charge fully and eats through the energy cell very quickly if used in rapid succession. Another drawback to excessive use of the charged shot is wear and tear. The A01’s greatest weakness is itself in this regard, as too many high-energy bolts exiting the barrel will eventually lead to malfunction and accuracy loss.
Outside of that, A01s are notoriously hard to break or jam. One might use the term “idiot-proof” in describing them.

- [Strength] One might suspect the chief appeal of the A01 is its reliability. A01s are not prone to misfire, malfunction, or even breaking. The individual components are made to withstand stress and environmental hazards moreso than in other weapons. Unless viciously beaten, chances are the A01 will remain functional.
