Strengths: Salvage- The HSW is a walker designed for the sole purpose of making the most out of a salvage job. It is able to speed up a salvage operation immensely by being able to pick up and haul off larger, heavier amounts of scrap and wreckage. The walker is also able to transport an entire salvage crew of 10 on top of this making any job manageable.
Weaknesses: Heavy- The HSW is a walker that is heavy when compared to other walkers. This is made worse due to any scrap and salvaged parts that it will be putting into its cargo hold. It is slow because of this reason and it also means it is defenseless if ever attacked.
Description: Ashhearth Industries is a company that does salvage operations. These operations go well enough but the lack of a good salvage vehicle was noticeable for them. Instead of finding or having a third party fill this niche for them, they decided to create a salvage vehicle of their own. The idea of a salvage walker was the one ultimately settled upon as it would allow for heavier loads to be carried for prolonged periods of time as well as be usable in space settings.
The HSW, Heavy Salvage Walker, is a quadrupedal walker made completely out of repurposed and recycled metals and parts. It is made out of a frame of durasteel with walker parts and electronic components attached to this frame. The frame is then covered by a durasteel hull with duraplast over it to protect against environmental hazards such as corrosives and rusting. Repurposed duraglass was used for the cockpit and crane. A long crane arm was attached next to the cockpit with a cargo hold on the back of it that can be switched out for different sizes and shapes.
The HSW was given some special features to compliment its basic job of salvage. Spikes were attached to the tips of the legs so that it could anchor itself in more unstable situations, such as salvaging over ice or in space. The bit on the end of the crane can be switched out with either a claw or a magnetic option depending on the needs of the job. It had a large, industrial rebreather installed into the cockpit so that the crew would be able to continue to breath safely while working in environments that would otherwise be too dangerous, such as poisonous gas or the vacuum of space. A pair of vice grip arms were attached to the front that could be controlled from the cockpit. These arms allow the walker to hold onto or rip apart large wreckage.
