CAPITAL AND URBAN LOCATION DESCRIPTIONS |
Nova Borealis |
![]() |
The Capital of HS-37765, Nova Borealis is a massive 'Cloud-City' that shares many similarities and design features of the famous Cloud-City that resides on the planet Bespin. Hosting the Diet of Nova Borealis, the de facto governing body of the planet, it is also famous for its numerous Hotels, Casinos, and Restaurants - as it not only is political, it is also the economical and tourist capital of HS-37765. Nova Borealis also maintains a series of defensive platforms and mining platforms within its immediate vicinity that protect the station as well as harvest the Tibanna from the surrounding clouds. However, it should be noted, that Nova Borealis is more focused on the revenue from Tourism, and within the last few years has slowly shifted away from operating as a mining outpost towards this new industry. Much of the interior has also been rapidly changed, updated, and improved - with former industrial sections now housing shopping centers and entertainment venues as well as increased accommodations for housing travelers. |
Volapolis |
![]() |
An old city by and standard, it was one of the first of the 'Cloud-Cities' to have been established on HS-37765, and this simple fact shows. So far, it has only been through the hard work of the Ugnaught Laborers, and no short amount of Luck that the aged station has remained afloat, and even then, its time is coming to an end. Engines strain to keep the station in place, and as they break down and malfunction at an extremely alarming rate, the workers remain diligent in keeping them repaired, jerry-rigged, and maintained with everything including the kitchen sink. Still, Volapolis remains one of the most successful and wealthy of the 'Cloud-Cities' thanks to its location near some of the richest concentrations of Tibanna. It has only been this reason that has kept the city wealthy enough to afford and maintain the expensive repairs required to keep the City operational. |
Atmorun |
![]() |
A business venture between the Baron Administrator of Nova Borealis and Volapolis who have already seen the writing on the wall; Atmorun was established on the opposite side of the rich Tibanna field that Volapolis currently harvests from. It was established as a means to replace the older and failing station, with Atmorun being by far, much more sophisticated and updated than its aged predecessor. Its facilities are capable of harvesting, producing, and shipping larger quantities of Tibanna than Volapolis, while also providing for increased and modern amenities for the workers and their families. Construction of Atmorun remains on schedule, and the station is set to begin operations within the next year - at which point - Volapolis will be carefully evacuated and scuttled, allowed to slowly descend into the Core unless the Jawa Cloud-Crawlers make quick work of the station. In its place, Atmorun will maintain the harvest and production of Tibanna, and some of its harvesting and processing plants have already begun operations to pay for the costly venture. |
The City of Siahlaiheos |
![]() |
Siahlaiheos is a City in transition - being one of the newer 'Cloud-Cities' to be established within the last two decades, it represents an intersection between the Industrial Past of HS-37765 and its more Metropolitan Luxurious Future. Few industrial sections exist on Siahlaiheos, save for those within the back of the house and hidden behind the facade of opulence set forward to welcome Tourists and Gamblers of all walks of life. What industrial sectors remain are those that keep the massive city afloat in the skies of HS-37765 and maintain the needs and wants of those that call it home - temporary or otherwise. It is in the newest sections that were lain down last that the future of Siahlaiheos was born and breathed deeply now; Casinos and Hotels dominate much of the structure, while a handful of private manors and penthouses are located in the opulent spires that jut out from the main central structure. A multideck spanning hangar services much of the city, while each of the private manors and penthouses is afforded their own private hangar to maintain the residence's privacy, as well as to keep them from the prying eyes of others. |
The Flying Docks of Mistral |
![]() |
Shadow Ports are as old as the profession of Smuggling and Piracy - wherever there is Law, there are those that seek to skirt around it, and as such need a place to call home - permanently or temporarily - when they are unable to enter a more reputable and upstanding port. Mistral is one such place, and it caters specifically to Smugglers and Rogue Merchants that seek to make a few extra credits outside of the Law and complicated Tax Codes often involved with trading goods. Don't be fooled, however, into thinking that Mistral is completely unknown, rather, it is often overlooked and allowed to continue its operations by the Military Forces of HS-37765 due to the fact that Mistral is just as hostile to Pirates and Raiders - as they are bad for business - like the rest of HS-37765. This has ensured a relatively stable albeit fragile peace to exist between Mistral and the established Military Forces of HS-37765. |
The Sky Citadel |
![]() |
The linchpin and central focus of all defensive means established by The Diet of Nova Borealis; so goes the Sky Citadel and HS-37765 is sure to follow. The structure is a floating fortress that houses the command of those planetary forces that maintain peace and order in the skies of HS-37765. From this location, naval forces can be dispatched in rapid succession, either directly from the Sky Citadel or from smaller command posts hidden in the clouds around the planet. A series of heavy cannon turrets provide over-arching fields of fire - which are more than capable of decimating the light cruisers and frigates that the pirates of the Shiraya Expanse tend to favor. The Sky Citadel also houses a Naval Academy and Marine Training Facility which trains the next generation of officers and recruits that take up the mantle of defender of their skies. |
Ayafa Kiluyak Upezzo - Clan Cloud Markets |
![]() |
On planets such as Tatooine and Arvala-7 the Sandcrawler is synonymous with Jawas; on HS-37765 it is the Clan Cloud Markets that make everyone think of Jawas. These structures, often locally called 'Cloud-Crawlers' are constructed from the derelict hulks of freighters and other vessels that were caught within the gravitational pull beneath the Life Zone, or that had been abandoned for some reason or another and had yet to fall into the core below. Entire clans of Jawas call these behemoths home - though it is not unlikely to also find Ugnaughts and Banchiians among the denizens on these floating markets; having a similar skill set and mentality to the Jawas. These structures carefully scourer the skies and clouds for any hint of debris or derelict stations or vessels that may prove useful or have working components that they can recover or sell. In this effort, they are equipped with harpoons and tractor beam projectors that assist in dragging up vessels and salvage trapped in the high gravitational pull of the layers below the Life Zone. |
Moisture Harvester HS-0701 - Cerulean Station |
![]() |
Water is a precious commodity on many planets, and this simple fact is also true for HS-37765. Following in the footsteps of Desert planets such as Tatooine, HS-37765 has established a series of Moisture Harvesters that utilize the commonly seen Moisture Vaporators, which draw in the surrounding air and by means of refrigerated condensers produce water which is directed into storage cisterns to adjust ph levels and ensure that no microbial colonies develop which would make the drinking water unsafe. Cerulean Station, as it is known locally, is one of the most well known and often visible of the Moisture Harvesters due to its close proximity to Nova Borealis; however, Cerulean Station doubles as a listening post, surreptitiously established by The Halcyon Corporation to keep tabs on the developments, decisions, and day-to-day operations of the Diet of Nova Borealis and the denizens of HS-37765. |

The Floating Islands of Eiar |
![]() |
A strange and mysterious region holding the only known landmasses on the planet. The Floating Islands share similarities with The Three Sisters in their composition - which is predominately Pumice, Sandstone, Limestone, and Loam-Soil. These lightweight materials, and in some instances the addition of repulsorlift engines to larger islands, have ensured that they remain afloat in the atmosphere of HS-37765. In all likelihood, the Islands themselves are remnants of a moon or other celestial object that had once been in the orbit of the planet prior to being pulled into the atmosphere. Much like the formation known as The Three Sisters, the Floating Islands also play a part in the Halanite Grand Prix. Likewise, any resources or materials of note present on the various formations have been found to be nothing more than trace elements, consisting of only 0.1% of the rock's content, making any kind of endeavor to mine the materials, fruitless, costing more than it would be worth in any kind of return. |
The Maelstrom |
![]() |
A continual storm dominates the South-West Hemisphere, making navigation and traveling through the area dangerous due to electrical storms and discharges that can wreak havoc on vessels and stations alike. The storm travels in a navigable and well-defined route, and though with this information it is possible to stay ahead of the storm or follow behind, few stations or ventures attempt to do so out of concern for the safety of their workers or any guests. Only the most thrill-seeking and daring of pilots offer a chance to see the Maelstrom - or fly through the very edge - to potential customers and thrill-seekers. Of course, with something so naturally destructive, awe-inspiring, and unknown, rumors abound and gossip about what remains at the center of the storm has consistently made its way from 'Cloud-City' to 'Cloud-City'; all things from a hidden Fortress, another, long since forgotten 'Cloud-City', or even some ancient Jedi or Sith Temple are all rumored to be at the center - though no one is truly sure what lies beyond the twisting, tumultuous weather patterns within. |
Valley of the Twins |
![]() |
A special place tucked out of the away from many stations and other sight-seeing locations, with few knowing of the region and even fewer knowing how to get there. The Valley of the Twins, as it is known among those that whisper of its beauty and magnificence, is a place of wonder and amazement in its own right. Large plumes of clouds billow up, shifting and forming into facades of massive trees as though they were growing an entire life-cycle within that very moment. Beyond, the brilliant shimmering stars of the Halcyon System - Halcyon and Hala - appear to dance in the sky to provide a truly wonderous sight. However, the Valley seems to exist for only moments in a singular day, and oftentimes, it disappears for days, weeks, or even months on end before appearing again. Those few that have been lucky enough to catch a glimpse of the shifting and forming clouds as the stars dance beyond in the sky have been blessed with a truly unique and wonderful, lifetime experience that few others have managed to share. |
Fields of Plenty |
![]() |
Here is where Volapolis sits, awaiting its long decline and the day that it shall descend into the Core, and where Atmorun awaits its moment to shine as it slowly rises in prominence and wealth. The Fields of Plenty are some of the richest, most concentrated collections of Tibanna anywhere on the planet, and it is here that most, if not all, Tibanna harvesting takes place. With a greater concentration of Beldone than anywhere else on the planet, it is also a highly protected region, with only authorized stations and personnel permitted to travel into the region - even then - travel is still strictly controlled and regulated to ensure that the Beldone are protected from harm and potential ignition of the other volatile gases that the creatures contain within their bodies. |
The Three Sisters |
![]() |
The Three Sisters is the local name for the colossal superstructures of unknown origin and make that seemingly float in mid-air without the assistance of any form of technology. Research, dating, and cataloging of the structures have revealed no additional information as to the builders of the structures or their origin beyond predating the founding of the Old Republic some Twenty-Five Thousand Years prior. The structures are comprised predominately of Sandstone, Harzburgite, Granodiorite, Lignite, Siltstone, and Umber - owing to its strange brown coloration and evidence of striations. The presence of large quantities of Lodestone is theorized to be the reason that the three structures remain suspended in mid-air, theoretically being acted upon or acting upon the natural gravitational fields of HS-37765. While there is still little understanding in any great detail of the structures, that has not prevented the local populace from enjoying their presence despite the ignorance of their origin. As such, The Three Sisters are included as a hazard in the local Halanite Grand Prix, in which pilots attempt to fly their racers through the center of each of the three structures without suffering from the ill-effects of the highly magnetized and magnetic forces that each structure emits. |
The Painted Winds |
![]() |
Known for the natural beauty, particularly the brilliant colors that appear in the skies at Dawn and Dusk, the region has attracted many tourists and sight-seers over the years. In some rarer instances, small pockets of Tibanna and Hydrogen mix and ignite, creating brilliant flashes of greens and blues in the sky - though these instances are highly dangerous due to the potential of igniting other concentrations of gases. The Administrative Baronies have maintained a series of outposts and platforms in the area that carefully monitor the levels of volatile gases in the region to ensure that a larger ignition of the atmosphere does not occur. |
The Ocean in the Skies |
![]() |
The region that is locally known as 'The Ocean in the Skies' contains one of the largest concentrations of native and immigrated fauna on the planet which has resulted in an explosion of life and larger populations of both predatory and prey species. The region is also known to be the primary breeding ground of many species of fauna; this is due to the large abundance of biospheric plankton with various conditions coalescing to ensure the continued growth of this plankton. This large, readily available, and stable food supply is the main reason that life in this region is more heavily focused and concentrated when compared to other regions of the HS-37765 Life Zone. |
Realm of Boreas |
![]() |
The Polar North of HS-37765 is a realm of a singular, ever-present, and ongoing winter storm that is filled with vast fields of ice, and the only known concentration of superionic water above the Life Zone. The region is marked as dangerous, with only the most foolhardy or courageous individuals attempting to strike out into the region to discover its potential riches; however, more oft than not, those that head into the region are seldom seen again. Even the enterprising Jawas in their 'Cloud-Crawlers' do not dare venture into the region, despite the presence of a number of derelict hulks that have yet to be drawn into the deeper layers of the planet. |

General Planetary Cultural Information |
The Culture that has developed over the successive decades and in part to the transition from a predominate Industrial focus to a more Service Industry focus mirrors that transition. Those that remain in the industry of harvesting and transporting Tibanna have become a highly mobilized society based fully around self-reliance and merit, in which individuals are judged more on their actions, skills, and behaviors than anything else. In contrast, the developing culture that is coming forth from the newer industries has seen a shift, in that streak of self-reliance and rebellion slipping away to accommodate the mentality of serving guests to the highest standards - even if it means taking abuse from those that look down upon the workers. For their own part, the Baron Administrators toe the line, with some older Administrators still focused on the halcyon days of pure Tibanna manufacturing, and those younger embracing, whole-heartedly, the newer industries of tourism, including the establishment of Hotels and Casinos. That is not to say that the culture of work, as it had been called, is fading away or losing its traction and hold. Rather, it seems that corner of the culture and society has remained strong - even going so far as to inspire the founding of religions based on deities of hard work, toiling, and prosperity that help those that help themselves and work hard. Likewise, as the old saying goes, "Work Hard Play Hard", is ingrained in the minds of all who call a 'Cloud-City' home, be it those that toil in the depths of the Carbonite Chambers or those that stand pretty and deal cards in a Casino. As a means of keeping their working populace happy, the Baron Administrators have been very generous with the proceeds of these central industries and pillars of society, ensuring that workers are cared for and provided with anything they could want, provided that they inturn keep working. |

Additional Political, Economic, and Societal Information |
Government |
HS-37765 on a local level is administered by a series of Baronies, each of which maintains control over a singular 'Cloud-City' and its associated defensive and mining platforms within a set vicinity. Each of these Baronies often competes against one another in non-destructive means; such as contests consisting of harvesting the most Tibanna in a given season, the most Tourist during the season, etc etc. Each of these Administrative Baronies is also maintained to a specific degree of the established Law, often defaulting to local laws first provided that those local laws do not interfere with the established Common Laws of the Ascendancy. |
The Diet of Nova Borealis |
A formal deliberative assembly was established as a means to ensure that the Administrative Baronies of HS-37765 never wasted resources in destructive matters against one another - with examples being sabotage or outright war. The Diet of Nova Borealis is convened once every seven years - although emergency sessions can be called for in more drastic times - and sees to the needs of the Baronies. During the start of each new session, a new presiding First Minister (commonly called a Consul within the Ascendancy) is elected to maintain order within the Diet and serve as a De Facto representative of HS-37765 in dealings that would affect the overall stability and daily operations of the various Baronies. The Diet also maintains a standing planetary defense force, levies taxes as needed in regards to the Common Law of the Ascendancy, and oversees all aspects of interplanetary relations. |
Planetary Wealth Analysis |
Its designation as a go-to Tourist Destination as well as its access to Tibanna, and untapped natural resources of its moons, planetary rings, and associated celestial bodies has made the Administrative Baronies of HS-37765 extremely wealthy. Much of this wealth flows back into the various 'Cloud-Cities' that dominate the Life Zone to maintain the complex and delicate systems that keep the cities afloat. This influx of wealth has also ensured that even the 'lowest' of workers have a relatively moderate lifestyle with little to worry about in the way of wants and needs of their daily lives. |
Planetary Stability Analysis |
With a focus on a burgeoning Tourism Industry and the need to ensure that those who decide to vacation or otherwise relax and take in the sights and amenities that the various 'Cloud-Cities' of HS-37765 hold, Law and therefore in turn Order have become the cornerstone of the Administrative Baronies to ensure that the Stability of their cities is never such to make visitors feel anything other than safe. The citizens of these 'Cloud-Cities' are taken care of, with their ever needs met provided that they maintain their behavior and adherence to the laws. In this regard, the Barons of the cities do their best to remain hands-off, delegating tasks and orders to administrators while handling the more mundane social aspects in regards to greeting tourists and visitors to their cities as required. However, despite this, there are some areas of the 'Cloud-Cities' that remain off-limits to visitors. These areas, often industrial sectors, are only accessible by employees and maintenance crews - though some areas, specifically the lower levels have developed their own underworld elements. These elements are often left to their own devices to squabble over the dark corners and rusted halls provided that their activities do not disrupt the daily operations of the City or the Tourist and their activities. |
Freedom and Oppression Analysis |
The denizens of HS-37765 enjoy a highly hands-off lifestyle with many amenities and freedoms that other citizens on other worlds may not experience, however, this is only true if they remain in the good graces of the Baron Administrator and follow the Laws - if not the exact wording, then the spirit depending on the situation. Citizens are encouraged to maintain a clean and proper appearance at all times, specifically those that are working or on duty to ensure the greatest experience to tourists and guests that may be visiting or otherwise residing on one of the 'Cloud-Cities'. Thus, provided that the laws are followed, the people are otherwise left alone and permitted to carry about their lives to their own devices as the Baron Administrator and Administrators of the 'Cloud-Cities' maintain an 'Out of Sight' policy in regards to the average activities and behaviors of its citizens. That is, however, not to say that there is no punishment or otherwise reprisals levied against those that would challenge or potentially threaten the status-quo and the wealth of tourism that the 'Cloud-Cities' rely upon. Though the Administrators often turn a blind eye to the criminal activities in the lower levels, specifically when it comes to Smuggling or Spice Running, it is only when those activities threaten the peace or otherwise besmirch the pristine facade of a City that action is taken. In the event that such activities threaten tourists or guests, either directly as in a robbery, or indirectly through damage or loss of property or disturbing the peace; the reprisal against those that have caused the issue is swift and brutal. Each 'Cloud-City' maintains their own Security Forces and Law Enforcement Officers for such an explicit reason, and their permission to act as they see fit so long as the job gets done is best described as 'The Ends justifying the Means'. |
MILITARY AND TECHNOLOGICAL INNOVATIONS |
Level of Military Readiness |
While the standing military force of HS-37765 is more than capable of handling your average Pirate attack or the common raid from an ad hoc and poorly organized band of raiders, it is less capable in regards of fending off a planetary invasion; to that end, it is more likely to rely on the assistance of neighboring planets or utilizing mercenary forces to overcome this inadequacy. However, that is not to say that the military does not exist, rather, it is more prepared for local problems rather than issues that affect the entire Halcyon System. As decreed by The Diet of Nova Borealis, each of the 'Cloud-Cities' provides a portion of their revenue and local defense forces to maintain a standing military force. This military force is separated into two key components which are more equipped and better trained at handling situations closer to home than as seen in more established planets within the system. The first part of the standing military is the Navy; though it is not what many consider - rather - it is comprised predominately of atmospheric airspeeders and sail barges reminiscent of sail-powered vessels that carefully patrol and maintain order along shipping lanes and established flight paths, while also fending off the aforementioned pirates and raiders. The second part of the standing military is the Halanite Marines, which are stationed on vessels as well as garrisoned in military stations around the planet. |
Local Defense Forces and Law Enforcement Officers |
Though the Diet of Nova Borealis maintains a standing military as well as levies taxes and oversees the day-to-day operations in regards to a planetary government; each station maintains its own defense forces or law enforcement officers as deemed necessary by a Baron Administrator or as needed depending on the situation at hand. Often these defense forces are drawn from the populace at hand, usually through an incentivized draft to maintain numbers - or - in other stations, established via a set term of service based on the age of an individual. However, the same is not said of the Law Enforcement Institutions that are established to handle the day-to-day criminal and civil acts that occur. These institutions often train their personnel via a specialized training academy, with courses crafted based upon their most common interactions with the citizens and tourists. |
Technological level compared to the Galactic Standard |
Unlike many Planets and Systems located in Wild Space and the preconceived notions therein of their technological level, HS-37765 maintains a technological level that is on par with the Galactic Standard. Owing much to their wealth thanks to the Tibanna Fields, they are more than able to purchase and import technologies despite the higher fees and prices. Even those derelict stations and facilities that are slowly falling to the Core, as well as the 'Cloud-Crawlers' that the Jawa's ply their trade within, are considered to be on par with the Galactic Standard, despite their relative age and lackluster condition. |
HISTORICAL PLANETARY INFORMATION |
The Settlement of HS-37765 happened roughly within the same decade as the first colonist arrived within the Shiraya Expanse from Naboo on that fateful journey. Those that had already been established in the region on shoddy stations and platforms had openly welcomed the addition of newer and more advanced technologies that would provide a boost in the longevity of their machinery. Over the successive generations, the development of 'Cloud-Cities' rapidly became a priority as the demand for Tibanna grew in measure and scope. Always a people of self-reliance, and remaining as such, the Baron Administrators had established the first Diet of Nova Borealis - at the time simply known as The Planetary Diet - as a means of rebuking the advances and demands of the Khanate as it sought to expand its own power in the region and the Halcyon System. Though exploration of HS-37765 had been difficult at first, due in part to the unknown variables and confusion some had when navigating the winds, it was accomplished - sadly this accomplishment came at the cost of many lives in the process. During these initial expeditions to explore the planet's Life Zone, the formations that would later be christened The Three Sisters were first found, with additional expeditions to the region eventually dating the structures to a time period prior to the founding of the Old Republic - some Twenty-Five Thousand Years prior. However, the architects and constructors of these massive structures remain unknown as they do not match any known ancient or extinct species that had constructed similar super-structures throughout the Galaxy. It has only been in the last few decades that HS-37765 has seen a boom in both its economy and its population; with the Khanate falling back, and the Baron Administrators having greater control and maintaining that control through a united front. HS-37765 had enjoyed its freedom, hard-fought as it was, though with the arrival of Confederate Remanants fleeing the fall of the Confederacy of Independent Systems, and a newly established power within the Halcyon System, the future of HS-37765 is once more unknown. Even now, the Baron Administrators gather in Nova Borealis and await the moment to take the next step or course of action for the betterment of the people and for HS-37765. |
