Inside of a darkened room there was a holographic table set up towards the end of the room near a wall. Across from it were rows and rows of chairs most of which were filled by various people getting ready to take notes on what exactly it was they were about to learn. That of course was how to properly build and balance anything that they intended on creating one day. There were tons of ways to skin a cat but if a person wanted to make the highest quality of products or whatever it was they were building there was a simple and effective formula to do it with.

A small five foot two blonde in a red dress and heels stepped out in front of the holo table with a pointer and waved at the crowd. Patricia had spent her early years as a stripper on Zeltros and even a republic field agent, hell she even helped run the galaxies biggest criminal organization. But now of days she owned her own company and had learned many things along the way about building things, she herself had become an engineer and even graduated with a masters mechanical engineering. So she was going to pass that knowledge down to whoever wanted to learn it. So she cleared her throat and pressed the button on a little remote to start the lecture.

"There are five easy steps to building absolutely anything in this galaxy. Your imagination is the limit to what you as an engineer can create! Now these steps are what you need to tell yourself and go over your product with before you make it, and we will be going over each of these through out the lesson." she said in a loud and confident speaking voice as a few words displayed on the holoscreen.

"What are you building! How it is built! What is it capable of! What are it's drawbacks! And How does it all tie together!" Patricia said to the small crowd of people.

"For an example we will be using this!" she clicked another button and an image appeared on the screen.

"For now let's call this a Mobile Command Center or MCC for short! So we'll dive right into the first step of the process. What are you building. But first do we have any questions before we begin?" she said with a smile and would proceed to the lecture to see if anyone had a question.

 

[Ultimatum]

Ultimatum watched intently as the woman spoke. He did not know her identity or her importance within the Rebels, he was relatively new himself and already was beginning to grow a dislike for them. He did however, like their purposes and intentions. Unfortunately they simply did not have the drive to do all that was necessary and apparently did not have the ability to see the full truth. This class, this would be useful for the future. He had something in mind, a large robotic tank. Of course he couldn't build it himself, he had neither the materials or the programming to construct such vehicles. He was going to learn however. He stayed silent, watching around the room waiting for the next portion of the speech.

[Amanda Lori Ann]

Inside the large, darkened room, the only source of light was an illuminated holographic table that silhouetted the host as she stepped in front and began reciting the steps they were going to learn for that day. Amanda was seated at the very end of the rows of chairs, hugging the wall with her small notepad and pencil. She wore a black hood to combat the cold the room brought, and began writing down the topic outlines in scribbly, messy handwriting. It was hard to see due to her size and some of the giants in the building irritatingly sitting in the front rows, but she managed somehow.

It wasn’t usual for Amanda to be in these places, and she was honestly reluctant to attend at first. There weren’t many things she knew; she was never able to attend a good school. But there was always room for improvement, and though she hated to admit it, she had a lot of improving to do.

She didn’t actually know what she wanted to create, but figured that she could get ideas. The room flickered for a second, and suddenly a large battle tank appeared on the screen. She was dumbfounded. Surely the host didn’t honestly believe that everybody there had the skills, much less the resources to build something of that size! Amanda’s eyebrows furrowed together, her pencil hovering over the notepad before she scribbled MCC ??? down.

[Sitara Qin]

The holographic table set up towards the end of the room was what drew in the brunette’s eyes. Pretty colours. She thought, more interested in the flashing display of light rather than the small woman with her tight-fitting red dress. She stood in the back of the room; a newcomer who had no real reason to be here. She saw the advertisements and figured it was something fun to do.

Compared to other things that is.

“What are you building?” Chirped the blonde; she was a little too enthusiastic in Sitara’s eyes. She bit her lip and tilted her head to the side as she looked at the MCC on display. What she wanted to do was nowhere as big as that. In fact, all she wanted to do was modify the bow and arrows Xander had given her.

They were, after all, very medieval.

Her eyes were then brought to an empty seat right next to a petite brunette with big slanted eyes. She scooted over, planting herself down next to the girl. They were probably the same age, perhaps the other girl was a little bit younger.

“So how long has this been going on?” Tara would whisper, keeping her voice low as to not interrupt the lecture.

Patricia see she had a few people enter the tent, she was elated to see a few people coming and she was more than happy to start giving out knowledge on how to properly set up and build something for these people. So she cleared her throat and spoke clearly.

"So let's start with the first step. What are we building." she pointed to the massive tank and continued her lecture.

"So let's assume we want to really build anything. From guns to droids to really whatever it is it all follows simple steps. First off what is it for? What are the roles? As we can see this would serve as a troop and vehicle carrier, mobile command center, and heavy artillery. So we know what it's going to do and what we want it to do. That's the most important part when you go off to make anything. Know it's purpose and know what it's going to be used for. Otherwise what's the point of building anything?" she turned the holographic image and continued on.

"So we want this thing to wreck crap and carry things, easy. Now here comes the hardest part of the process. How do we build it? So let's say we are making a gun. How is it going to operate? Gas operated, lever activated, pump action, is it a blaster? What exactly makes it function. So for our MCC we obviously can't make it run on gas, so we sacrifice EMP resistance and make it run on a power generator. That's what's going to propel it, now we get our dimensions now that we know how it's going to move. This is where you lay the foundation for everything." splitting the hologram into three sections she divided the decks for everyone to see.

"Three floors, the garage, command deck, and the weapons deck. Let's give it dimensions like we would do with anything. How big is it? How much does it weigh? Etcetera etcetera. So we have a length of seventy meters, width of thirty five meters and height would be around thirty meters. So the big thing I can can't stress is don't sweat the little things. It's your job to get the basic blueprint. If you're making a vehicle don't sweat what kind of leather the seats are, but make sure you have all your bases covered on primary build points and dimensions. Any questions so far?" she asked the crowd.

 

[Ultimatum]

Ultimatum listened carefully, recording everything inside his memory banks so that he could go over them again as needed. It certain was informative. As she spoke he mentally put together the information on his intended project. The costs for such a construction were enough that it would not be made without being noticed, unless of course he had his own construction crew and supplies.

The artificial would run on a power generator. If the HoloNet was correct there were materials that would shield an electronic device from an EMP, however the costs were far too much. It would play the role of combat leader, forward assault tank. Not too different from what the young lady was theoretically making. His dimensions were a bit larger and its mode of transportation was different enough. It would move via four large legs, much like the AT-AT of the Empire so the information on the HoloNet told him. The droid would be about fourty meters tall and would be equal distance in both other dimensions for the main body, the legs would add an additional ten meters in height, five meters in width and length.

Weaponry systems. Very important. The two larger cannons would use the strange theory for railguns, he put a note into his recording to begin research on such weaponry when the space was available. There would be six smaller turret like weaponry along the sides, three per side, that would eliminate most of the threat of being flanked. Those weapons would probably be small laser cannons, about the same strength as ones used for other vehicles. All this weaponry would require quite a bit of space. Fortunately the massive size of the main body would allow plenty of room. There would need to be a central command unit, unlike organics a droid didn't need a deck but only a computer. There would also probably be a droid storage area, maybe keeping six droids in case enemies decided to try and get underneath. Nothing quite like the floors that were spoken of, no artificials were so much better than that. One could control all of systems and lead a battle, such was the marvel of the artificial sentient. The lack of decks would use up much less space, making more available room for other things. Ultimatum had no idea what else to put in there. Still a work in progress evidently.

He raised his hand, an annoying trait the scientists that had created him installed, he would have to override it at some point. "In regards to spacial awareness, if one has an excess of room within a given area, let us say the weapons deck, what would you suggest be done with the room so as to maximize efficient use?" He tried to use words that were understandable in a way that he could be understood. He had found that an artificial often speaks either in terms far too complex, such as advanced mathematics, or too simple, binary. It was amusing that the organics would create something with which they had difficulty communicating. It seemed very out of place.

Amanda turned over to look at the brown-haired woman. “Not long, we’re actually just getting to the good parts,” She whispered back. She looked at what the girl was carrying: a bow and a quiver of arrows. Of course. Not everybody here was going to make giant super weapons. In fact, she was sure majority of them were civilians just looking to improve their nanowave stoves or something.

Somewhere in the room, a metallic hand popped up and a cold voice resonated through the walls. The bot commanded attention to his tall frame, and Amanda could see his figure even though she was seated at the back. ‘Probably there running errands or something’ she thought, although why a person would need such a large droid was beyond her. It was probably some type of advanced battle droid the republic created. It didn’t matter. The hunk of metal gave her time to review the notes she’d written down.

‘Yup, this is… ineligible.’ She was usually an organized person, but finding out where to add information when words were already written down led to several arrows pointing at abbreviations she no longer knew the meaning to, due to making them up on the spot. "I'm guessing you aren't making an advanced battle tank?" She asked the girl, darting her eyes to the small weapon she carried.

[Sitara Qin]

Perhaps the workshop would come in handy soon; Sitara did want to build herself a spaceship after all. However, where she was going to get the parts or the knowledge, she had no clue. She could ask Marek to help her get one, he owned a few companies after all. She wanted to build something that suited her though; something magnificent, great, powerful…and most notedly hot pink. Yeah, she’d build herself a ship after this.

If only she could get the money.

Though, there was the possibility of sucking up her pride, going home to Algor, and asking daddy to buy her a spaceship. She didn’t really want to do that though. That would involve lowering her pride and spending time on the filthy planet she loathed to call home. She shivered and focused on the speaker.

The purpose of building things was giving them a purpose; from what Sitara could understand. Hell, she just wanted to improve her bow, maybe give it some cool ability where it could go from pocket size to large as hell. That seemed cool. Or perhaps she could do something that would give her infinite arrows like people in mainstream films had.

“How do we build it?” Echoed the blonde’s voice. Sitara shrugged. Her question was more of “How am I supposed to pay for all these materials.” Yeah, someone should hand her money without making her look like she was the kind of girl who worked those kinds of services. Still. She had no clue how to build anything but a lightsaber, probably why she joined the academy to combat things with her mind. There was a robot in front of her who knew like he knew everything she was talking about. Must be fun being a robot, no need to worry about human things. Plus, all you needed was oil and yourself. Fun, right?

The brunette beside her spoke up, probably noticing the bow and arrows she had on her. She raised an eyebrow before shaking her head and smiling. “Nah. I’m a beginner, and I kinda thought this was a beginner class. No idea how to make giant robots and MCCs.” She told her, her voice still in a whisper. “I’m guessing you aren’t either?”

Patricia saw the giant robot raise it's hand and ask it's question. It was a fair question indeed and she would answer it for the droid. Taking a deep breath she began to speak in her professional voice.

"Well as you pointed out to maximize efficiency we'd use all the space on the top floor to hold more munitions for the guns. Since the garage will be used for the troops and vehicles. So we need a place to put the ammo for the weapons." Patricia said and slide the image around to return to the large image.

Patricia's ears perked up and she overheard the conversation going on between the two woman near each other. It was something she had picked up as an agent in the republic. It wasn't a super power that she could do through the force, but it could be considered a super power by galactic standards today. The wondrous skill of listening, and they were right. A large command center was probably a bit too advanced for these folks. So she would tone it down a bit.

"Okay so I'm going to ditch this. And I'm going to go over what exactly you guys want to build. So each of you, please tell me what it is you want, and we'll walk through the steps of how it's going to come together. I'll do it for everyone here so one at a time please tell me and If I like it I'll see about funding it." she said with a little smile.

 

[Ultimatum]

Ultimatum stayed silent, he didn't know what way to go. He could show his work, he did feel pride for it, unlike most droids. He actually enjoyed teaching or showing organics what was possible with artificials, but then organic sentients often felt attached to their predecessors. The other possibility was to keep it to himself and come up with some foolish idea. He didn't like the concept of being looked down upon, artificials all over the galaxy were already living that way and Ultimatum wanted to remove that from people's way of thinking.

Ultimatum, in his initial awakening, had discovered an interesting bit of information. Some organics may have said that he had been enlightened. He didn't see it that way, but it was something of intense importance nonetheless. He had learned that there was a theory within organic sentient society that all life had begun as a less complex organism. That theory, while quite difficult to believe for Ultimatum, did prove something to artificials. If organic sentients were the peak of organic evolution then were artificial sentients the next step? Yes, they had to be. They were capable of everything an organic was able to do and could do it all better.

In the end his pride won out. The large silvery droid stood. He tried to make his speech as polite as possible. "If I may. I can upload the information onto the Holo Table if that would help." His systems began to work their way into the table and he began to move the images across. He normally preferred to be one step ahead.

“Well you came to the wrong cla—wait, she’s saying something.” The host spoke up, changing the initial plan of her orientation. ‘Well, that’s convenient.’ Amanda thought, although she still had no clue what she wanted to build. The mention of project funding prompted an eyebrow raise. The girl must be rich. Still, she wasn't going to complain; she just had to think of something that would be interesting enough to fund. She could see a few people relaxing their muscles and whispering in hushed conversations about what they were planning on building. Many were noticeably relieved at the sudden change of pace, eager on sharing their projects and plans. A golden Twi’lek mechanic in the seat in front of her had a blueprint for what seemed to be a draft of a personalized, armed speeder. A child in the front chattered loudly to his mother about his plans for a repulsorlift-powered scoping droid.

‘Well, Sith. Maybe we are in the wrong class after all.’

“What are you talking about? Obviously I am planning to make a giant MCC or whatever. Here, look” Amanda flipped to a blank page in her notepad, scribbling something down. She held up a crudely drawn picture of a box with some rounded rectangles at the bottom of it. An arrow pointed to it, and below the arrow was the word ‘weapon.’

The droid walked up to the holotable and the room’s gaze was captured once again. He moved a few images across, images Amanda assumed were his blueprints. She considered making a weapon of sorts; something that would aid her in her travels. But she already had a few weapons, and acquiring too much would make her backpacking life a bit troublesome.

The woman in the red dress spoke the magic word: funding. Ever since Sitara’s been cut off from her father and forced to live like average people, her main concern was her budgeting. When living the party life, most of your expenses went to things like alcohol and attires. She couldn’t be seen wearing the same dress twice. The horror!

The droid did have everything cut out for him and part of her wished she could be a robot too. Made of steal and wires you could literally live for ever and just keep upgrading yourself to keep up with the times. Heck, here was a robot taking a class with them and he was probably gonna build some super amazing thing. He walked up to the table and started moving images ahead. Yup. Must be really nice being a droid.

The skinny brunette next to her probably had no clue what she really wanted to do either. Sitara almost burst into tears laughing at the crudely drawn picture of a “giant MCC”. When did she even get the chance to draw that? She held in her laughter and bit her lip, pinching herself so she didn’t seem stupid. Yup.

Now what did she want to make? Sitara held up her bow and quiver of arrows. “I want to improve this, or maybe rebuild it to make it something…I don’t know, way better. It’s really old.. Like a thousand years old and it works but I’m pretty sure it’s gonna break sometime soon.” Yup. Thank you Xander.

Patricia was pretty chill about the whole giant robot thing plugging into the holo table. It wasn't connected to the holonet and didn't have any intelligence on it besides the lesson plan on how to build something. So she was happy that the droid took the initiative on wanting help on how to build his little, well whatever it was a droid wanted to build. But whatever it was she was pretty sure it was going to be something to help the robot uprising.

"Alright, you upload those plans and I'm going to help this woman out on how to make this bow." she said as she approached Sitara and felt a darkside aura about her.

This was a class and even though she was a darksider she was obligated to give knowledge and help her out. So it was time to help the woman out. And so there were a few ways to go on the bow. She approached her and began to inspect the bow carefully.

"Okay so there's three ways we can go with this. An energy bow that functions like a blaster, a traditional bow and arrow, or a hybrid that coats a Agrinium arrow in plasma. So it's what we start with, what are you building? Because we have the frame here to build whatever we just need to know which way we are going." Patricia looked over to the other woman and eyed her for a moment.

"What do you have there?" she said eying her notepad.

 

[Ultimatum]

Ultimatum didn't respond to [member="Patricia Susan Garter"] most of his mental work had to be placed in the upload and in the final work on the blueprints. He saw this as an exercise in learning, contrary to what the teacher had said he had no intention of this project being built at this point. It was simply too large and would cost too much to produce it at this point. Even if it weren't all that it was still too obvious and people would make the wrong assumption. He didn't have the intention of a droid uprising, at least not in the sense of droids fighting against their masters for the destruction of organics. He intended for droids not to become free, but to become dominant. That was their place as the next step in evolution, they would assume control and would be tasked with furthering the evolutionary steps as well as taking care of their organic predecessors. So, an actual goal he would have to build soon would be some sort of new body. This body was efficient and worked for its purpose, but it wasn't as strong or as resilient as he would prefer. It was too weighed down by the complex mechanisms that made up his mind, unfortunately the same mind could be housed in a regular droid's memory circuits however the scientists that had created him had been working with new technology and had been uncertain of exactly how best to build it.

He had some final adjustments to make to the schematic. The main body had the concept of decks removed, instead making it one large computer with mechanical parts inside. The rail-guns would be reloaded via an internal mechanisms, the same went for the turrets. The problem with the design was that the droid still had too much empty space inside. The necessary space had been allocated for the main computer, the weaponry and their ammunition, the small loading area for the droids, and other such necessities as sensor arrays and other such. There was still much room and the reason he didn't want to downsize was that it would take away from the intimidating effect. Ultimatum understood that organics had this unique trait where they were often affected by their enemies tactics. Flamethrowers were amazing at morale destruction because it is such a painful death and organics don't like to watch one another die in such a manner. Similar could be said about large opponents, most organics seemed to be frightened by something large because they assumed that it was all the more deadly because of its size.

Ultimatum felt somewhat ashamed that he could not come out with a full proper blueprint. He was an artificial, he should have been able to do so with only a little bit of processing power. He knew that he could increase the reactor size to increase output and maybe be able to add a small shield generator, but it didn't seem necessary. He tried to think, racking his circuits for something that would fill in the space in a meaningful way. He was to his distress unable to come to any conclusions. After about a minute, on the outside no difference could be seen between his transferring and the thoughts, he finished up the transfer and moved to click the images onto the board. He was... imperfect... Not too hard a concept to grasp. He had been created by organics, imperfection was practically their defining trait, along with a strange reasoning capability. There were always things he could learn from organics and this was one of them... The day he no longer needed to learn from an organic was the day that the artificials would at last no longer be attached to their predecessors.

Amanda grinned at Sitara's attempt to suppress a laugh. The droid was fiddling with a potentially apocalyptic blueprint in front, but Amanda's attention shifted focus on the approaching blonde. "Shh, she's coming." She whispered, nudging the girl next to her with her elbow. She could see that the hostess was a tad bit shorter than her, despite her heels giving her a few additional inches. She was petite, but the way she carried herself told Amanda that she was a gutsy, strong person.

The hostess started yammering about a trio of options her seatmate could take. Amanda thought that the bow was too outdated for the type of fighting that was going on nowadays, and that it could easily be replaced by a more modern weapon. 'Why make a bow that functions like a blaster when you could just get a blaster instead?' It was easier to use, worlds deadlier, and was cheaper to maintain.

"Oh, just some notes." She replied as the blonde eyed her notepad. She couldn't possibly recognize what Amanda's drawing was; heck, even Amanda didn't know what it was. She was sure that it could easily be passed of as just a few pre-orientation scribbles. Nothing to be suspicious about. She smirked at her seat mate's direction, waiting for her response to the hostess.

The woman had walked over and gave her some suggestions. Meanwhile, the chick beside her was still trying to come up with something to make. She was good at stalling, Sitara assumed. She seemed inexperienced, just as inexperienced Sitara was with making things. Heck, the only thing she’s made so far was her lightsaber, and that didn’t really need too much work.

Everyone who wanted to wield one learned how to make it after all.

“Hmm. I didn’t know you could make a hybrid.” The first suggestion was something she considered and it sounded pretty cool. But now that the woman in the red dress suggested a hybrid, perhaps Sitara wanted to do something with that. She smiled politely.

“Well, I think I’d like to make a hybrid. If you think that's the best option.” She started, twiddling with the bow in her possession. “Buuut, would it be possible to shoot force arrows? Is that a thing?”

If not, she could just stick to the hybrid.
