SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Autonomous Combat AI (Commonwealth-standard, restricted ruleset)
  • Remote command and control via BattleNet
  • Swarm-capable coordination protocols
  • Multi-spectrum sensor suite (visual, thermal, motion, EM)
  • Low-profile thermal and EM signature
  • Self-destruct / system purge failsafe (data denial)
  • Quick-recovery tow points and self-righting assist
STRENGTHS
  • Extremely fast reaction time: ideal for screening, scouting, and pursuit.
  • Low manpower requirement: frees trained personnel for higher-value platforms.
  • Scalable force multiplier: most effective when deployed in packs or alongside Selim-type units.
WEAKNESSES
  • Lightly armored: vulnerable to heavy weapons and dedicated anti-armor fire.
  • Reliant on sensor dominance: degraded performance in heavy jamming or sensor-denied environments.
  • Not intended for static defense: loses advantage if forced into prolonged stand-up fights.
DESCRIPTION
The Hound-type Autonomous Combat Vehicle was developed to replace a patchwork of outdated scout speeders, light repulsor drones, and under-protected reconnaissance crews inherited from the First Order era. Designed from the outset for distributed warfare, the Hound-type excels at operating ahead of heavier Commonwealth formations—probing enemy lines, identifying ambushes, and engaging soft targets before they can threaten main force elements. Its autonomous combat AI operates under strict Commonwealth engagement protocols, prioritizing target identification, de-escalation where possible, and coordination with infantry and armor rather than independent “hunter-killer” behavior.

In combat, Hound-type units are rarely deployed alone. Instead, they function as sensor pickets, flank guards, and urban skirmishers, rapidly shifting positions to deny enemy freedom of movement. While incapable of trading blows with main battle tanks or heavy walkers, their speed and networking allow them to punch well above their weight when used correctly. When paired with Selim-type MBTs, the Hound acts as the eyes and ears of the formation—often the first to see the enemy and the last to disengage.
