SPECIAL FEATURES
- Power pack in the back of the armor, giving power to the servomotors and the personnal shield generator. Protected from EMP by a reinforced casing that slightly limits movement.
- High head display: The armor shines there; the helmet displays many helpful tools such as:
- - A radar, able to scan from 50 to 200 meters, although it loses accuracy with range
- - A aim assist system, helping the armor's user analyze the battlefield and adjust its aim.
- - An ammo counter, tracking the ammunition in the weapon currently wielded by the user. Requires a connection with said weapon's interface first.
- - Auto-injector, sending morphine or stims directly into the user's system when damage is inflicted.
- Walking tank: The resistant materials of the armor make it a tough task to take down its user, requiring highly concentrated fire from blasters or slugthrowers.
- Super-soldier: Servomotors increase the armor user's strength, making it a dangerous opponent, even without weaponry.
- Force-User Killer: The armor was first designed to give its user a fighting chance against the powerful Sith and Jedi, and so it is equipped with a personal shield generator able to resist lightsaber damage enormously.
- Can't Force This: Below the power pack is an Ysalamari compartment. It negates the use of the Force in a 5 meters radius.
- Restricted Use: The armor requires its power pack to be intact to even function. Should an EMP hit the armor, it will shut down and effectively trap the user inside what is sure to soon become his tomb. Only an augmented individual might be able to operate the armor from this point on. Still, despite the fact that servomotors and high head display, along with the personal energy shield would now be unavailable, the protection the armor offers is still very much present.
- Heavy maintenance: Although the armor is an impressive colossus, it comes with a cost; maintenance is expensive, lengthy, and requires such fine-tuning that it cannot be accomplished in a combat zone. The components are both expensive and rare, and their installation often requires for the armor to be reassembled - which is obviously unacceptable on the field.
- Chirurgical strikes: The joints and the neck parts of the armor are covered in plastoid, and so they are a weak point that can be exploited by a marskman with enough talent to hit them. A high-powered sniper rifle would be especially devastating in this case.
- Lizards aren't that strong: Should the compartment be damaged or the Ysalamari killed, the Force-negating effect will no longer apply.
As the war between the Silver Jedi Order and the Sith Empire rages on, great minds at MandalTech worked on an equalizer that would benefit both, and yet neither sides; an armor designed for super-soldiers, created with the intent of bringing a powerful tool for Non Force Users against powerful Sith and Jedi masters and lords. The project progressed steadily thanks to the determination of the Mandalorians to create one of the greatest tools against their foes. Although the armor was finished quite early in time, it had to go through many revisions when its first users were killed in action; one of its massive flaws being that it wasn't able to protect much from blasters and slugthrowers, weaponry carried around by auxiliary troops that inevitable accompanied the force-wielding targets.
The whole armor was remade, the outer shell extremely reinforced to the point where using it now required the users to go through an intense augmentation program that would strengthen their bodies to even be able to use it. An energy shield was added to stop lightsaber strikes, and servomotors to allow the user to walk and run at normal speed despite the extreme weight of the armor. All in all, the Hoplite Mk II is a product that will never truly be finished; constantly updated to deal with the growing menace of force users, it wages an endless war in the hopes of tipping the scale in favor of non force users.
