Hopefully Discussions Don't S-tug-nate

After preparing plans to produce a low budget, but well crafted tug for multiple companies and factions to utilize at their shipyards, the day finally came for Kuat Drive Yards to hold up their end of the bargain, and pay for all costs of the tugs design. Maybe they didn't think it through, they didn't even test the design adequately. Bah, all kinks and bugs will be pulled out before selling to the galactic public, anyway. It was truly a great design; both were great designs. They were admired so much, not just aesthetically, but functionally. Enough that got the head of KDY to show up. Now, it was up to the designer, er, designers? To show up, so some paperwork can be done. For such great work put into the designs, Ferron made it the designers choice where to meet. [member="Saffron"] could choose, [member="Noire Vanya Tal"] or anyone from ATC, or both or all. Ferron did what he needed to do to prepare for travel, or company. As usual, if he got to choose the location, he would have requested the designers come by on Kuat Orbital Array, as being the safest place for Ferron to be, and in his mind, everyone else. Of course, his security was barely any better than civilian weapons and logo-branded attire, but he had ideas to improve that.

Ferron would either prepare docking rings or shuttle ports to be cleared and reserved, or he would travel with a small security outfit within one of his newly, smaller, created ships. Perhaps not the best impression, but hopefully not anything disappointing!

Seeing as this would be the first time meeting the new Kuat Drive Yards representative compared to the last, Saffron decided that it would be best to go to them. The last time Arceneau Trade company worked with Kuat Drive Yards was when it was under the oversight of the late Queen of Kuat. At that time, Kuat Shipyards became a member of Southern Systems Business Bazaar and enjoyed benefits of using Arcenau Trade for galactic distribution.

After the terrible tragedy and death of the Queen, Saffron had wondered what would become of Kuat Shipyards. To see that it was in fresh hands and quickly gaining back its former glory was a sight to behold.

A small shuttle would arrive at the landing pad prepared by Ferron. Once it would land, a young blond woman with hazel eyes and a delicate frame would exit along with El-three, her Southern Systems Business Bazaar assistant protocol droid.

Once word was established that the visitors were meeting on the Orbital Shipyard, a Kuati Security escort was sent to meet them at their reserved bay. The bay was guarded inside and out, a total of four guards at the primary entrance, two on each side. KDY took protection of its business partners very seriously. Ferron always said if he can't protect them as much as he protects himself, it's not worth risking their life.

"Good day, Saffron, I presume? How would you like us to address you?" The escort spoke up and slowly took a few steps towards the shuttle, "I am Chief Williams I'll be your escort today." The Chiefs identity information was available in public access of the KDY holonet, however it was outdated, showing his uniform during the old war that was fought with the station. Many employees from that era have stayed with the company, amd earned promotions. Officers to Commands, Security to Chief of, and some Commanders to Generals.

"Do you have any special requirements here on our station, today? Ferron has set up a casual meeting and one of the restaurants, but if you would like something more private, I can inform the President of your request." Chief William was dressed in an appropriate and formal Kuati Security Uniform, and it was a bit tight when he tried to motion his hand for her to follow. "If you would prefer not taking a long trip back after the meeting is complete, the President has reserved a room for you to stay in." If Saffron was ready, the Chief would lead towards the entrance to the bay and out into the hallway, which connected the other bays, then into the main area of the Orbital Array. KDY had many more stations and facilities, which made it easy for the repairs to be made. The only problem was credits, which Ferron had given to the workers and resources out of pocket.

Sorry super late!

“Saffron is fine, Chief Williams” the young blonde replied, giving a cordial smile and allowing a shake of the hand in introduction.

“No special requirements save perhaps a glass of water?” it always began this way, with simple conversation.

“I would be delighted to take up the Presidents offer of a room.” it would also allow the young Haven Shipyards and Arceneau Trade Representative to catch up on Kuati affairs.

“A casual meeting is fine.”

Their amble would draw Saffron’s attention. “It has been a while since I’ve stepped foot on Kuat Drive Yards -- It has gone through so much in the last few years.”

"That's not gonna be a problem, miss Saffron," he replied to her asking for water. "Yes, the President has done a lot to bring back what once was a jewel to the galaxy, and the breadwinner of Kuat," he continued, escorting her towards a Unirail that would show to be going all the way around the Orbital Array on the inside. It was fast, like going into hyperdrive, and they wouldn't even feel it. "The President prepared for you one of the deluxe suits so you can experience the variety of Kuat luxury of the modern age. He would have offered you one of the temporary apartments, but none of them are designed to be... fancy, heh. I wasn't informed if the President was going to order an entire meal, if you had my guess he would find it inappropriate. Still, the man surprises me. He invested his entire wealth into Kuat Drive Yards, ya know. After that, he had not a penny left to his name, he didn't even start taking pay until the company made enough to pay for every worker the first year. I don't know if he's a saint or savior, he still ate and slept on the companys budget, hah!" Saffron may not have known, but this was going to be Chief WIlliams last week in military service to Kuat Drive Yards, so he was just making the most of it and offering idle chit chat. He was the best man for the job until his replacement took over. KDY was planning a full replacement of their armed forces, taking Kuati's out of harms way. While this was a pleasure to many families, the ones that suffered were the ones that had committed their lives to military action. During the ride, there was a refreshment counter. While the Unirail was no KDY Monorail which had dining cars, the Unirail was made to accommodate tourists a little. Williams was able to get Saffron some water while they waited to arrive at their destination.

Once the ride was over, the Unirail opened right up to the commercial zone. The first thing they would see was the little up-and-coming restaurant. Unfortunately, the rest of what was presumed to be a marketplace was almost bare. The restaurant was small, like a local corner restaurant with dine-in tables, headed by a Kuati. Williams stepped to the side to allow Saffron to walk ahead as he stood by. There was only one person currently at the restaurant, dining. A patient looking man, who seemed to have a glass in front of him with a small amount of wine, the wine bottle just nearby on the table. As Saffron approached, Ferron stood up, trying to be respectful as ever, and reached his hand out. "Miss Saffron," he continued, pointing at himself before the handshake as he spoke his name, "Ferron Troste," he reached his hand back out, "I drew up the Joint Medium Support Ship Program, I'm very thankful of the product you provided." After they greeted, he offered her to sit down, "please," in the already open chair opposite of him. Williams came over and holstered his weapon, prepared to push Saffrons chair towards the table once she adjusted herself. "Before we begin, are you hungry? This local restaurant is headed by a Kuati. Perhaps not the best chef, but an aspiring one."

It was interesting getting more information about Ferron Troste from Chief Williams. It was her responsibilty to gather as much information. They were dealing with a new owner of Kuat Drive Yards. Arceneau Trade company had formally had ties with the Queen of Kuat, Lady Silencia, and had been granted the long term contract to conduct and sell Kuat Drive Yards products as a middle man. With her unfortunate death, that had come to an end, with Kuat Drive Yards being in limbo as there was no apparent surviving heir to the throne.

"Thank you Mistah Troste," Saffron would reply, shaking her head in the negative, "I am well, perhaps a small snack?" turning to Chief Williams she gave an appreciative nod of thanks for escorting her here.

Sitting down, the young blonde woman gave a warm smile.

"It is an honor, Mistah Troste. I thank you for the invitation." although it was due to winning the competition, it was still cordial to enjoy small pleasantries.

"Oh please," he spoke up, "call me Ferron. And the pleasure is all mine. Ferron looked over to Chief Williams to get his attention, "Chief Williams, would you kindly inform our chef we would like something of an appetizer? Perhaps something he enjoys making?" Ferron looked down to smile at Saffron, "I'm sure we'll find something that agrees with the lady," he smirked, taking a glance at the wine bottle. Williams chuckled under his breath, shaking his head before turning and walking over to the chef in the kitchen.

Ferron grabbed the wine bottle and held it up, "Hapan Gold Wine, it was my parents, before they passed. They left it to me, and my I'm sure it has aged well. Would you care for some? It seems only fitting. A tug may just be a tug, but you know as well as I do how crucial these ships are to Shipyards. Like birds on the backs of wild animals, eating the bugs that pester and cause sickness to the animals. It's like a symbiotic relationship." If Saffron gestured for some, he would have opened it up and poured her a little. Once that was finished, he sat the bottle down and took a very light sip. It was a little strong for him, it made him shut his eyes for a moment, but he also savored and enjoyed the taste. It reminded him of his past. "Well then, I say this is a perfect opportunity for you. We can get straight to business, or you could bring up any questions or concerns you may have for me or the Company, or even make another deal or contract, or we can just relax and talk about the view," Ferron chuckled, he implied talking about themselves, but they coukd talk about how the Orbital Array was shaping up. Unfortunately, Ferron had no idea Saffron used to work with KDY, the records of past dealings were all but lost when the Orbital Array fell apart. This could be an opportunity to look into new horizons with the new Kuat Drive Yards.
