The galaxy was a changing place. One thing that Marek knew was that people needed to unwind. That was half of his whole deal, really. Lead companies that allowed people to dance, drink, gamble, and participate in the use of some unsavory, or truly savory, depending. But for now? He was trying to reconnect with the Confederacy. The Alliance had fallen, he had heard the news. It was something he wasn’t for or against, really. Was just something that happened.

He had figured his first hook would be to track down some of the others, that weren’t the Vice lord, to begin re-integration. Was it a business trip? No, but the Van-Dervelds were nearby, and having worked close with Ruu and Ket? Was worth the trip. Bringing his Challenger to the planet, he had contacted, with all the clearances he could find. Getting down wasn’t the hard part. It was getting over to the wolves.

The real hook was once he landed, not getting arrested, and not starting some sort of incident. He knew the temperament of the Van-Dervelds, and was now regretting this decision. Stepping down from the ship. He was using the false pretense of setting up shop on ryloth. This world wouldn’t make a solid port.

But more information on the current state of affairs? The Relic could use that. He stepped onto the landing platform, looking fairly stylish for the type of business he was focusing on, drugs made good money especially in conjunction with resort time.

Katrine was only vaguely aware of what was occurring in the galaxy, the spirit was aware of times to come but her visions hadn't been strong enough to comprehend what was to come yet. They were still all personal and close to home. She was on Ryloth still, with her mind filled with everything that had been happening to her. Orcus had been saved from its servitude to her ancestor, Katrine had been more honest with her than she had ever been. Still, as she had left Katria's ship yesterday, she still had plenty to think about.

She'd come to the city for no particular reason, leaving her speeder within the docking station before she would make her way to the upper levels. Crimson Shadow was still dormant in its private space, which Katrine checked often. If it had been taken, she would have known Mother had come to Ryloth. Katrine wasn't sure which option she preferred. On one hand, Mother was still missing. On the other, if she had come just to pick up her ship and didn't bother to see her? It would hurt her. Neither option seemed good to her.

The thoughts made her stop, looking towards the massive doors before she'd sighed and taken a few steps forward, sapphire gaze moving around the area. Ryloth had become home, even in the time she had to listen to stories about it. She remembered all of it well enough, in great detail. Every tale, every crazy adventure her parents experienced where Mother hardly ever spared them of any details, same as always. Though Katrine didn't have the faintest idea it wasn't even those stories that had brought on those feelings or the quiet murmurs that had been drawing her in her whole life. It was simple, the Mandragora, the spirits. They had been calling her home for as long as she remembered. So, the Lupine had more than one home. A planet she was born on, a planet where her true destiny lay and the planet she would go to when the time was right to rule. Though the last seemed so far away still when her Father was very much alive.

In her movement, her piercing gaze wandered to a figure that stepped off the landing pad. The first thought in her mind had been familiar. Just from stories alone, Katrine couldn't have begun to guess who the arrival individual was and her head had been all over the place lately that her mind required more to collect the appropriate memories. The face was stored somewhere inside her head, a frame showed once a very long time ago but it hadn't stopped her sapphire irises from staring as she recalled.

A bit different than he suspected. Really, coming into Ryloth was chasing a lead he knew he had in the Confederacy. Could he have reached out to Metus? Probably. But the man was the Vice Lord, and Marek was a distant memory from the Confederacy for too many years. Bright Star was working within the confines of the companies he had always worked with, but the government had changed, people were coming and going, and the number of Sith living within the CIS was too numerous at this point. But the first thing was first. He needed to see if the Confederacy was being over taken by the Sith.

Sith and Jedi were at constant war, and it wasn’t something he wanted to get involved in. The Outer Rim Coalition seemed to be covered in Jedi of various states. They were too strict. The Sith allowed for a different rule, but if the Sith were truly in charge? It would only be a matter of time until it all came tumbling down.

Looking at the woman who was in the hangar, he nodded. The man could feel that family from a mile away. Van-Dervelds. Wonderful. So he was in the right place. But this one, it wasn’t who he expected. His data network was old. He’d have to send Jennifer to go and fix it up. Why did she let him go into it without updating? Oh yeah, he didn’t ask. Just went.

Then it clicked. He nodded. “Grown up. Running this world now?” Or were the adults around. He may not be the brightest individual, but he wasn’t going to ask that.

Not on anyone’s life.

Katrine was still staring. She didn't mean to but she knew the face. It wasn't until he spoke though. Grown-up. Running this world now? The Lupine drew from memory of a memory, recalling split seconds Mother used to explain Marek Starchaser. "You're Marek," Katrine voiced, "Marek Starchaser." She remembered what she'd been showed. Mother and Father both liked Marek, more than the average individual. Father trained him, Mother fought him. There was plenty of history that explained it.

"I run a lot of things. Not Ryloth though. You seem to be a little behind on things. Old Confederacy died, Father quit, I came back, Mother left. No Van-Derveld is running Ryloth anymore. Though I speak for the spirits that protect it," she explained, a smile on her face. Clearly, he'd missed lots. "And yeah. I'm twenty-one now. Doesn't mean much on Dathomir unless you're a Clan Mother but for a Lupine, it does." Katrine added, smile still in place. Lupines lived far less than the average Dathomirian so the rules of adulthood were different.

He looked over at the blonde and nodded. The man was not certain he was going to be able to bite his tongue about making some off the cuff comment about her. She was a pretty woman, but he had the inkling that she was a Van Derverld. And that was one way to die a miserable death. Hitting on one of them. Especially if Ket had been seen recently in the galaxy. He nodded at her. “One in the same.”

He looked at her, a bit taken aback. “Damn, how long have I been gone?” Swallowing, he ran his hand through his hair and took a drag of the cig and exhaled. The galaxy was a changing place, and Marek was a man enjoying his time on Tion and Lianna. “Yeah, I mean, depends on the world, but you can purchase a bit more now. Or well, you could anyway because there are always ways around.

“What is going on with the galaxy, Kat?”

Yep, that was definitely Marek Starchaser. Memories that weren't hers confirmed did, as did he. He was a special kind of snowflake in Mother's book, if she had a book, that was. A rare human Father liked enough to call his apprentice, enough to let him fight her without stepping in. "Nice to finally meet you, Marek. I've seen and heard a lot about you," Katrine continued.

How long had he been gone? Katrine shrugged. "It hasn't been that long. I've only shown up like four years ago," she commented, not thinking too much about the fact that it would most likely confuse Marek since it wouldn't make much sense to him. It was fact though, the blonde was around for four years now.

She could purchase a bit more now? Katrine looked at him funny at that. "Nobody asked me much before either. Not when I'm using Uncle Isley's card." Katrine did try to get her own account but when your birthdate is decades in the future, they tend to kick you out of banks for thinking it's some kind of scam. It really wasn't but hey, since she was using the card, nobody bothered her anymore. "Like what?" She still ended up asking. Nobody had already stopped her on buying anything. Like months ago, she'd gone to buy slugs on Coruscant, nobody cared how old she was.

What was going on with the galaxy, Marek was wondering. "Uhh... stuff. Confederacy's growing, we're friends with all sorts of people, Mandalorians hold Dathomir, Father's been around, we've discovered ancient Witches of Ryloth... the Mandragora, there turned out to be more Lupines than just us Van-Dervelds, Galactic Empire is still being a jerkface and not letting us have planets they always told me we had," katrine was just listing at random, pausing to think of more, "that's about it, I think. A lot has been going on." It turned out she couldn't think of more at the moment.
