Home Sweet Home (Kixi)

[member="Kixi Rajki"]

George looked surprised when Kixi told him that this was her first time holding a baby. However as she explained how likeness to her mother it made more sense to George. As she spoke about her mother it was clear there was bad memories to go with the good. She stated how George could see straight through her emotional state. The force aided with that, but the Padawan had to remember that they spent a lot of time together and noticing small changes in ones emotion was learnt over time.

"Its alright Kixi. Emotion shows that you still care and remember. The love in those tears will be a forever reminder about the love you have for your mother." George replied.

After George replied Kixi's good old smile returned, probably due to the Nautolan child. Which she then asked about.

"The babies name... Ahh..." George was briefly told it, but it took a little bit for him to remember it. "Nena, Nena Ka." George replied to the first half of her question. As to what was to become of the child. George had an idea. "I will have to speak to Master Coci and Grandmaster Thurion, but I was thinking of adopting her. I know I am not the best person to raise her, but I took her away from her parents, looking after her is the least I could do." He continued as he thought of what it would be like having a little Nautolan running around all the time.

"Nena, Nena Ka. Now that has a nice ring to it. I like it. Her parents have good tastes in names."

Kixi giggled as she spoke and peeked her head in the quarters where the baby slept to make sure she was okay.

"Adopting her, that sounds like a great idea. That will mean she'll get to be all around me too."

Kixi said getting all excited. Then another question of concern would arise.

"Her parents, the Sith surely have found out that they contacted us and gave us the child. They will see them as traitors. Even now as we speak they could be in prisoned or worse still have been executed?"

Kixi shook her head thinking of her past.

"Ever since my mother was wrongly murdered all I've ever wanted to do was to get rid of bad people. Yet how does one define who or what is bad?"

Kixi would ask the question before continuing.

"We see the Sith as evil and although true, there would be those who see it the other way around and see us Jedi as the evil ones. Being blinded in their knowledge, they could serve the Sith and kill Jedi and believe they are doing a just cause. I made many such errors in my past Master. Being told that certain people were bad, factions, races, and then attacking, waging war, thinking I was ridding the place of bad people when in fact that wasn't the case."

Kixi paused a moment and looked her master directly in the eye.

"I've made errors of judgment in the past Master, but the memory of my mother gives me strength beyond one's imagination. Those Sith are pure evil. If they have harmed this child's parents, then they must pay the price. They must be defeated and riddled."

Kixi breathed slowly and heavily for at least another minute in silence still eying her master. If I succeed in getting that weapon functional, and my crew get that Force disruptor working, I'm going to slay many Sith. For this child and many like her, it will be just.. Those words silently crossed her mind, her master still starring at her. Kixi wondered if he could sense what she had just been thinking.

"It is a nice name isn't it." George replied watching Kixi's face light up. Then she got a little more excited as she peered into the child's room looking and making sure she was all snug up in bed. Adopting the child would change George's life. Having someone to come back to Voss to. Having the responsibility of raising her. It was quite a bit, but he felt it was the only thing he could do.

"Yes she will be. All the time." George replied with a bit of a chuckle as he though about how he might need to reply on Kixi looking after the baby from time to time.

"With the child gone they have no way of tracking the parents. We will return someday to liberate the city. But not today." George replied, he felt as if they were still alive, nothing through the force had told him otherwise. But it was possible that they were killed. But George felt it was unlikely.

"Everyone makes mistakes Padawan, learning and overcoming it are what makes them worth it. But I agree, the Sith are pure evil. Evil to the bone." George replied as he shivered from head to toe. Thinking about his own parents and what the Sith did to them. Devastating.

With all that was going on the ship was still flying through hyperspace and was nearing the exit into Voss. They had finally made it home and were about to show Nena her new home. George had some worries though, one of which would be how Master Coci would react to George's offer of adopting the child.

As their ship got ever so closer to their home destination of Voss, Kixi couldn't help but notice some concern build up through her master's facial expression. It was only minor, but Kixi did notice it.

"I'm sure Master Coci will be fine with you adopting the baby. As Jedi it's also our responsibility that our order, and our lineage lives on. During the rule of Palpatine many centuries ago, the Jedi were almost totally wiped out. Nena Ka is a Jedi potential. We must ensure that people like her can continue our legacy and not fall into the hands of the Sith."

Kixi's face was one of seriousness as she spoke, she only assumed this is what was concerning her master, but was pretty sure it was the case as she couldn't think of anything else at this point of time, that could possibly have been causing an issue.

"You're right Kixi. I think I am over thinking it. Getting too wound up in the what ifs and not taking a step back. I mean what is the worst that can happen? It is decide she is adopted by another family on Voss? Its not that bad after all." George replied with a slight sigh, he knew the worst case scenario wasn't bad. But something inside of him felt as if he needed to do it. Thus bringing his mood down.

"I am going to go rest for a little bit before we get back to Voss. You're welcome to continue playing with Nena, or rest. Either way." George said as he made his way to the door of the room. Looking back at Kixi as he finished his sentence. Shortly he left the room, headed back to his quarters to rest. If not only because of the past few days, but to clear his mind.

As George finished off what he was saying, he decided to go and rest for a bit. This was understandable given the difficulties they had had during the mission, and the further work they were yet to do once back on Voss which would be soon.

"In the end all will be good Master for this child, regardless of the outcome on Voss. Yet something tells me that this child will play a significant part of both of our lives as she grows up. So whatever the outcome will be, I think you'll be happy in the end Master."

As George retired for the time being, Kixi decided to stay with Nena. Just in case she were to wake up and start crying again. She entered her quarters again and took another blanket from a nearby cupboard. She placed it on the floor and then lay down on the floor beside the same bed Nena was sleeping on. It would be uncomfortable, yet it didn't matter. She had endured far worse in her wretched past, and now at least would be near the young baby if she needed attention.

George managed to sleep for a few hours and clear his mind allowing him to wake up refreshed and ready to get back to Voss. As he put his belt back on and readied himself for departure that someone had changed, George felt more positive and uplifted, possibly due to the kind words Kixi spoke of last. Either way George's spirits had been lifted and was now ready to face the Silver Jedi on Voss.

George walked back into the room where Nena was sleeping and noticed Kixi passed out on the floor. George moved quietly over to her as he knelt down beside her, rocking her shoulder slightly. "Cmon Kixi, we're almost home." He whispered in her ear. Kixi needed to get up and get ready as the ship was about to exit hyperspace.

Kixi rubbed her eyes as George had woken her up. She had very much fallen asleep the moment she lay down. That fact that she had fallen asleep so quickly was an indication of just how tired she really had been. She promptly got up and instinctively checked up on Nena.

"She's still sound asleep. Let's not disturb her for until we actually have to exit the ship on Voss. May I please be the one to carry her? After all she seems more relaxed in my gentle arms."

Kixi would add the last part, making it very obvious that she wanted to hold Nena when she was brought before the Jedi Council.

"I'm gonna quickly wash my face and fix my lovely hair now. I'll be back in a few minutes as that won't take long. I'll be staying in these clothes. The blood stains and the fact that these clothes look similar to my uniform of old, at this stage I do not care what the Council thinks of me. All I'm concerned about is Nena."

Kixi sighed as she finished speaking and left to get ready. She wouldn't be long and would be back with George by the time the ship would land on Voss.

George smirked at Kixi's comment about Nena being more relaxed when she was holding her. It was true, as much as George didn't want to believe it. As KIxi left the room and went and got ready George headed off to the cockpit. The ship would exit hyperspace shortly and there were a few final preparation to be done before the sudden drop.

Moments later the ship pitched and rolled as it exited hyperspace. I hope Kixi was ready for that. He thought to himself as he realized that she was still not in the cockpit. George gently brought the ship down to the hanger bay on Voss where his ship lived. As the landing gear hissed as it deployed the ship gently touched down and the ramp deployed.

"Hey Kixi, we're home." He called through the halls as he made his way to the room where Nena was hopefully still sleeping, he would wait for Kixi to arrive before departing the ship.

"Yes Master, I know we're home. You're rather unorthodox exit from hyperspace alerted the whole flaming planet!"

Kixi replied laughing at her own joke. She walked up to Nena who had just awoken, most likely because of the ship's turbulent hyperspace exit and planetary reentry. She started to cry again, but Kixi would quickly attend to the problem by first picking her up and bringing her close to her arms, and then slowly rocking her.

"It's okay my little one, Aunty Kixi is with you."

Kixi continued to cuddle the child and rock her a little. The two would make eye contact and instantly the baby would settle. A bond between the two was clearly evident.

"Okay Master, Nena is all settled and comfortable in my hands. We can leave the ship now and I presume go straight to the Jedi Council. I'll come back later to your ship to get my stuff if that's okay with you by the way?"

George laughed with Kixi's comment. It was true, the re-entry was a little bumpy, but they all made it in one piece. Just after she made the comment Kixi quickly turned to where Nena was sleeping. Key word, was. She was no longer and just as Kixi went to pick her up a little cry left her mouth. But Kixi was just in time, holding her close and rocking her gently calmed her quickly. "Nice work Kixi. Lets go. When ever you got time, just come by and pick your stuff up." George replied as they made for the exit.

It wasn't a long before they reached the temple and seeking out Master [member="Coci Heavenshield"]. As they entered it was clear the battle that they were in, Kixi was still in her bloody uniform and the baby in her arms answered many questions.

"Master Coci, we've completed the mission. The informant you spoke of was this little girls parents. They were after protection. The Sith were after the baby and they thought it would be best to get it away from there as soon as possible." He spoke as he interlocked his fingers in front of him as Kixi held the baby quietly beside him.

"I would also like to, if possible and with the consent of yourself, Grandmaster Thurion and the rest of the Sanctum if I was to raise her and be her guardian. I feel it is the least I could do." George spoke gently as Master Coci listened. His palms grew sweaty with nerves as he waited for the reply from the Master of the Order.

Voss security had informed Coci of the return of George and Kixi and they had wanted to see here as soon as possible. She excused herself from the training session and made her way to a debriefing room. Their mission had been a long one, away from the Sanctum for months it seemed and such a long way from home and she is anxious to see them. When the two entered the room, Coci walked over to them both with worry on her face as it was clear by their presence in the force they are tried but mostly in good health. "I am pleased to see you both back safe and well", she said placing her hands on their shoulders.

At this moment she noticed the child in Kixi's arms and listened to George speak of how they had come by it. "And what of the parents?", she knew the answer really but best to ask. "Are they safe?".

The child stirred, Coci smiled placing her hand on the child's face to sooth it. "There there little one you are safe".

"Is this the parents wish? To have their child so far from them?", she asked, "If you have been entrusted with this child, then you will be it's guardian. Does the child have a name?". She did not wish to continue called it in this manner.

Coci's attention turned to Kixi, "Kixi are you well?", she asked looking at the blood on her clothing.

Master Coci looked relieved to see the pair of them back on Voss. However Coci was straight to the point, she asked of Nena's parents. Unfortunately George didn't actually know the answer. "They felt they couldn't leave, they still had something on Glee. They were alive when we left. But we have no current information on them." George replied knowing that the chances of survival were slim for a traitor of the One Sith.

Coci continued the debrief asking question after question. "Yes, they believed that the best thing would be to separate them. Obviously they didn't want to, but they felt as if they didn't have a choice." He replied, thinking back to her parents, the sad unknown. "Her name is Nena, Nena Ka." After hearing the good news as Coci decided to grant him guardianship over young Nena his face light up slightly, a small smiled appeared and it seemed that not all was bad in the world. "Thank you Master, I will look after he as if she was my own flesh and blood." He replied with a large smile as he turned to Kixi looking at her with excitement.

Kixi stood there mostly silent as she listened to both her master George and Coci discuss the mission. Coci did notice the blood stains on Kixi's clothes and asked if she was okay.

"I am unhurt Master Coci. This blood is not mine, but of those attackers who tried to take baby Nena from me. I didn't get changed because I've spent most of my time from our journey back here with her. She is so adorable."

Kixi would then look at George with a big smile on her face.

"Well Master, contgrats are warranted to you. Officially you are Nena's guardian. Of course she'll still need......well you know, my soft gentile touch to help take care of her."

Kixi laughed as she finished off her sentence. She then turned back to Master Coci.

"Master Coci, her parents back on Glee may have been compromised. I know the Sith are powerful, but is a rescue mission possible? I believe I may have the resources available at my disposal to attempt one?"

Kixi would finish off referring to her starship and crew, while cuddling the young child, and whispering something to her in her own language who was cooing in her arms.

[member="Coci Heavenshield"], [member="George O Rourke"]

"Now I would like you both to understand that although taking children that are force attuned has been a thing to do in the past, but no longer, when this children grows up and has rationale and a strong sense and understanding to make a decision for herself you are both to give it to her. By this I mean the chose to decide if she is to become Jedi. You have both done something wonderful don't get me wrong, you have saved her life but you must be mindful of this". Then she smiled, "And you are in for sleepless nights and lots of dirty .. clothing".

Turing to Kixi once more, " I am please you are alright. As for your proposed mission, I grant you the leave to do it. We owe her parents that much, but be careful and use what ever means the Silver Sanctum has to assist you". Padawan Rajki was fast becoming a great Jedi .. Coci remembered their first meeting not all that long ago and she had come far. She wondered how her demon fighting was going, hopefully George was assisting her with that.

Kixi acknowledged Coci regarding baby Nena first.

"Why yes of course Master Coci, we are Jedi, we do not unwillingly force anything upon others. When Nena is old enough to understand, then the choice will be hers."

She then turned to her Master George with a smile on her face as she peered down at Nena's face as she held her.

"Looks like we have a go to mount a rescue for the child's parents. It's gonna be dangerous but I think we waste little time in getting ready."

A look of sadness would then evidently show on Kixi's face.

"Although I think it will be in vain. They were compromised when we were discovered escaping with the baby. However we must try. Even just for the knowledge that the child learns of their fate."

Kixi then turned back at Coci. She suddenly felt extremely nervous but now that she had the courage to ask it, she would do it quickly before she lost that courage.

"Master Coci, being near the Sith on my last mission has unraveled the mystery to my demonic like visions I had experienced in your presence while we trained in the past, and also the same occurrences that also happened when training with Master George. Well I believe it may have anyway. Have you ever heard of a Sith artefact called the Orb of Passage?"

Kixi stopped abruptly at that point starring at Master Coci, sweat of nervousness slowly coming out from behind her neck.

[member="Coci Heavenshield"], [member="George O Rourke"]

Her brow furrowed, "I can't say I know that much about it. The last I had read about it the Jedi Order had it in their possession but I am not sure if they do currently. That is a very old relic that twists time I believe. Why do you ask?".

"If that Orb forms a part of your visions you should speak with the Grand Master of the Jedi Order, [member="Corvus Raaf"]. She might be able to guide you better on this. It might have been destroyed or still within their possession but if you do contact her, you had better have a good reason to see it". Coci placed a hand on her arm which was holding the small child. "Just be mindful that these relics are dangerous".

"She is very beautiful and she is now in very good hands".

Coci turned back to George. "Is there anything further you wish to discuss?".
[member="Kixi Rajki"] | [member="George O Rourke"]

"Master Coci, I'm aware that these relics are dangerous."

Kixi would pause a moment about to hesitate but then continued.

"Master Raaf you say. I will indeed seek her guidance on this one."

Kixi closed her eyes momentarily and slowly breathed in and out as Coci put her hand on her arm, before then reopening her eyes.

"Master Coci, I believe the visions I've had were real, and that I've experienced all that I've seen and through the dark side of the Force. I'm not fully certain but I think somehow I used that Orb to then alter time. I also have seen the Orb in my visions. Somehow I went back to some battle where I had made the wrong decision, and then altered my action erasing everything I had originally did after that battle. Yet I still had retained the memories thus my nightmares. I know this sounds far fetched, but why do I have a purple lightsabre?"

She made reference to the colour of her lightsabre. Purple, very much the colour used by a dark side user turned to the light. But Kixi was always a warrior of the light. Unless she had gone down the path of the dark side, but because time was altered, that reality no longer existed, except for a few rogue memories.

"I also remember two outcomes at the Stand off at Kustetiera near my home world. The one that actually happened that is good, and one that appears to lead to the events of those visions. This could be the point in time from where the Orb was used to twist time."

Kixi then shook her head as she suddenly felt cold and stupid.

"Oh I do probably sound like an idiot Master Coci. Perhaps the Sith influence on Glee has made me go just a tad crazy. Oh yeah and as for the baby here, she sure is in good hands. I would kill again for her if it meant the only way to protect her. I really like her and it appears that she likes me."

Kixi smiled once again as she spoke of the child. Strangely everytime she spoke of Nena, that it would bring happiness to face.

As Master Coci spoke about the responsibilities of having Nena in his care he nodded. He was prepared for it and expected nothing less. "I fully understand Master, I would never force the child into anything she wouldn't want to. Its the Jedi way." He replied calmly, the end was a little cheesy, but it was the truth.

Kixi worried about the parents that they had left back on Glee and asked Master Coci about another rescue mission, this time for the parents, she believed there was little hope, but she felt it was necessary. George felt similar, although he wanted to go back, he wasn't sure if it would be possible. they only just made it out with their lives last time, the security would by on extra alert. "If a rescue mission is in order, we'll do what ever we can do succeed." He replied confidently.

He listened as Master Coci and Kixi spoke about her nightmares. Master Coci referred her onto Grandmaster of the Jedi Order Corvus Raaf. Someone George himself had never actually met, only heard stories about. Lots of stories, as you would imagine, being someone of that stature, sort of like Grandmaster Thurion.

Coci took her saber in hand and ignited it, the purple blade hummed before them. "As you can see I too have a purple saber but I have never tasted the darkside", she extinguished her blade. "You and only you need to discover the source of these nightmares or visions Kixi and the Jedi Order might be a good place to start. I sincerely do hope you understand exactly what these relics can do", Coci speaks very much from personal experience having seen Master Harrison possessed by such things in which endangered lives close to him and if it was not for his inner strength would have seen him fall.

She turned to George, "May the force be with you both. Take what you need with you and keep me posted on your progress". She bowed to them both and left the briefing.
