knFzmsk.jpg

Hogan the Wookie
NAME: Hoganarbow Hogan
FACTION: Ex-Empire
RANK: Former Naval Officer, Smuggler
SPECIES: Human
AGE: Twenty-seven (27)
SEX: Male
HEIGHT: 6'1 Inches
WEIGHT: 182 Pounds
EYES: Green
HAIR: Dirty Blonde
SKIN: Pale, tattooed
FORCE SENSITIVE: No

STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES :
  • Bravery: The boys in Hogan's naval platoon would always say he was more Wookie than human. Being surrounded by fearless warriors and hunters on planet Kashyyyk growing up instilled Hogan with dauntless bravery.
  • Cunning: A wise man once told Hogan "the only place you'll find a dumb smuggler is behind bars or under the ground". Hogan is quick witted and very good with words.
  • Hunter: His mother was a highly trained Wookie hunter who passed on everything she knew to Hogan. He is lethal with a bowcaster at any distance and is excellent at setting traps.
  • Pilot: Hogan is an ex-naval officer trained by the galactic empire. He is a top of the line pilot and can repair and maintain his ship.

  • Temper: He's your classic cool, calm smuggler until something goes wrong. Hogan has the temper of a Wookie. It is genuinely a problem that he is trying to work on.
  • Selfishness: The way he sees it, the only people in the galaxy who ever did him any favors are the people of Kashyyyk. If you aren't a Wookie, Hogan could not give less of a crap about you. He doesn't believe in making friends and is really only concerned with himself at the moment.
  • Loneliness: Hogan pushes everyone who tries to get close to him away. He spends half his time flying across the empty void of space in a tin can by himself and it has left him a bitter and lonely person.
  • His Hand: From the forearm down, Hogan's hand is a piece of poodoo cybernetic implant. He is trying to get money to afford a more functioning one.

BIOGRAPHY:
TLDR VERSION:
- A band of space pirates attack a Wookie village and are easily stopped but there is a baby on board their ship that none of the people of the village knew what to do with.
- Wookie huntress, Sashandaar, adopts the boy, who she names Hoganarbow, and raises him as her own.
- Hogan grows up as a Wookie on Kashyyyk. This comes with problems because he never really feels like he fits in but after he becomes one of their most promising hunters he earns the respect of the village.

- Hogan comes of age and begins to wonder what life outside of Kashyyyk could be like.
- Hogan has always wanted to fly starships so he leaves Kashyyyk to join the Imperial Navy, a decision that causes him to clash with his mother. The Wookies are a peaceful race so her son leaving to join the military deeply upset her.
- Things go great at first and Hogan is a very successful pilot for a few years.
- Hogan goes down in a dogfight over Naboo. He survives but his left hand is crushed by his ship and it has to be amputated.
- Unable to afford a cybernetic replacement hand and left unable to fly properly, Hogan is honorably discharged from service.

- Angry and purposeless he returns home where he reconciles with his mother.
- He can't return to his life as a hunter without his hand so Hogan decides he needs a new way to make money so he can afford a biomechanical replacement.
- Sashandaar gives Hogan the HWK-290 light freighter that he and the pirates initially came to Kashyyyk on.
- He restores it to working order and starts up a service where he flies people around the galaxy for a fee.
- Things aren't going well and Hogan is making almost no money when a particular client mistakes Hogan for a smuggler and asks him to sneak a shipment into Coruscant.
- Things go well and with the money from that score alone he was able to afford a low quality hand replacement. Hogan decides he likes the smuggler lifestyle and decides to keep doing it.

- Hogan has been a smuggler now for almost three years and is slowly making a name for himself. He is saving up for a better hand but the constant maintenance and upgrades his outdated ship requires to keep up with the competition has been holding him back. He is just looking for that one big score to get him ahead.
- The initial plan was to fix his hand so he could go back to Kashyyyk to be a hunter but now Hogan isn't so sure. He is scared he has changed too much and will no longer be accepted by the Wookies. He's also not sure if he really wants to go back.
