Hitting Two Birds with one Stone {Self-Training}

Sophia had never been the greatest of marksmen. She could pilot a ship with her eyes closed but her shooting skills were lacking. It took her several shots to actually hit her target if she hit it at all which was why she was here at the practice range today. Sophia wasn't using a blaster however but a crossbow.

The reason that she picked this weapon over others was simple. Her little girl wanted to learn how to use a crossbow and Sophia wanted to be able to teach her. The crossbow was also a rather unique sexy weapon if she did say so herself and she was getting the hang of holding it at the very least.

Pulling back on her bow Sophia grabbed an arrow and aimed for the bullseye on the target. Letting go the arrow whizzed through the air and completely missed the target and instead hit a tree a little further back. Pulling back again she let go this time she almost hit the target. She instead scrapped the edge of the target. It was an improvement from before so she was hopeful.

The point of this exercise was to not only get better with a crossbow but also learn an ability as well. If she could sort of push her arrow in the direction using the Force as well that would be helpful. First she wished to get a better handle on this crossbow.

She was surprisingly doing much better with her crossbow than what she originally thought that she would. Sophia thought that this was going to be a painful experience but in truth was turning out to be rather fun and relaxing. It was much better than days packed with meetings when she had no time to herself to do anything. This was peaceful even if she had yet to hit the attended target as of yet.

Pulling back on her bow Sophia let go this time hitting the target in the second circle. It wasn't too bad but not where she wished to be yet. The fourth arrow hit the target right next to were that third arrow was. Pulling out her fifth and final arrow Sophia pulled back and it went whizzing right over the target board. Sighing she set the bow down as she went to collect her arrows noting that not only did she need to get better that shooting but she would also meet to look into carrying more than just five arrows. It would never do having that few of arrows on her person.

After collecting her arrows Sophia grabbed the bow again to start the exercise all over again. The young woman knew that only by practice would she become better at this and she needed this. It would help her not only be a better mother but a better Force user as well. She couldn't rightly protect the confederacy which had done so much for her if she didn't know how to shoot.

Pulling back on the bow she grabbed an arrow and aimed of the target once again before letting it go.

The next arrow that was set off hit the target square in the center just as Sophia had planned. She knew that she would get the hang of this new crossbow. It was lighter than any blaster that she used and in honest she liked it better. It was different and she could find herself using it. There was so much potential with it and nobody would see it coming. Most laughed at crossbows so this would also be a way to catch people off guard. It was part of her plan anyway as she knew that now that the Templars used Crossbows she would need to find a way to make hers unique from the pack. That right there was a work in progress but she had a plan.

Taking a deep breath she tried to calm her mind and focus as she grabbed the next arrow. She wanted to learn and eventually master Projectile guidance. It would be useful to be able to aim for a target and if it moved move her arrow with it. As Sophia allowed this next arrow to fly she focused on moving it to the left just a little. It was targeted to hit the bullseye but for this exercise she didn't want her arrow to hit it. Sophia watched as the arrow spun round and round headed deep left hitting the target next to her. With a sigh Sophia went to gather her arrows. She wondered what she did wrong, perhaps she would need to concentrate less? She was determined to find out either way.
