After building spaceports on Trian and Serenno, and extending their sphere of influence around Sekalus, the time has come to return to business, building an industrial park on Hijarna, with the local authorities. Sure, with Hijarna stones having applications in defensive equipment, one could see a number of companies using Hijarna stones willing to settle on Hijarna, but with Hijarna having substandard transportation infrastructure, that won't do the trick unless that situation is rectified. She knew that it was easy to neglect, especially with factions constantly at war against one another. Hijarna, which was in the Inner Rim near several important planets, such as Onderon, Alderaan, was a prime location to get a new spaceport built, one that was mostly freight in nature given the whole project, and, of course, with daily departures to Coruscant, Hosnian Prime and Onderon. Then she writes up a message to Meran Mechanics on her datapad:

Even though Star Tours was not interested in the actual mining of Hijarna stones, she knew [member="Lyth Meran"] would come to Hijarna with mining equipment that could extract those stones, and, if the information given by the local authorities were correct, vibrocutter-based equipment would be best suited to these tasks. So, from Sekalus, she took the Famfrit to Coruscant, where she would make a transfer to another much smaller ship, the Maersk of Lanteeb, containing all the base materials for several of the future GA-based tenants to build what they needed on Hijarna. And also to get the industrial cargo processing area done, knowing that the tarmac on Hijarna will be 500x500m rather than the 200x200m on Kaeshana and Trian. With the Maersk of Lanteeb also reverting to realspace over Hijarna, after a few hours of flight, Dunames was on the ship's bridge controlling for the reversion of the ship to realspace, laden with loads of construction materials and heavy machinery.

"We have arrived in the Hijarna system, boss" Merrily told Dunames.

" Welcome to the Hijarna System. we are looking to build a few things here the place is an out of the way spot close to Mando space and fairly ignored all things said. " Lyth said over the com.

"The prefabs are meant to be used for temporary facilities while the more permanent ones are being built"

The beacon [member="Lyth Meran"] dropped was more or less where the Hijarna temporary facilities were set up, near the makeshift spaceport while the Maersk of Lanteeb carried materials that would make the prefabricated facilities pretty seamless to integrate into the planned permanent facilities. So while the landing sequence isn't yet finished, Dunames followed the beacon more or less where the new spaceport to be, knowing that Lyth won't be very far behind. While, of course, in her business as a freighter captain, she had to deal with a number of the more troublesome people. Once the Maersk of Lanteeb landed on the hitherto little-used abandoned spaceport, she lowers the port boarding hatch to meet an As-Aki, whom she dwarfed multiple times over. She knew that some of the clients that wanted a piece of the action on Hijarna after the Hijarna stone rush were a little concerned about the food supply of the world, so the hydroponic farming equipment was carried onboard, ready to be unloaded alongside the spaceport equipment as soon as the Maersk of Lanteeb lands.

"I am Dunames. You already deployed the prefabricated facilities: what we are to do here is to integrate the remaining facilities to be built to the prefabricated facilities already built"

"Sorry all the Prefab is is a Small warehouse to act as a meeting ground for us to talk in Pearson. " Lyth admitted as she keyed in the landing protocols.
" i hope to meet you down there. " she finnished as she dropped down to the surface.
the place was a dead wasteland some tomblike cities were visable in the distance and the air was dusty to the point that breath masks were nrcrcery.

At this time, the small prefabricated warehouse housed the terminal and the cargo handling facilities all at once. It would nevertheless be useful in the permanent spaceport: it would house something low-key, like the maintenance vehicles, while the construction crews are busy building what would then become, with the deployment of a crane at the edge of where the future terminal will be. When she came across [member="Lyth Meran"], standing on the desk of the makeshift cadastre office, which, in the permanent spaceport, will become the office of the head of maintenance equipment. Dunames quickly glossed over the cadastre, knowing that one of the slots furthest away from the Hijarna stone quarry has been taken up for a hydroponic farming complex. With Lyth being at the other end of the cadastre office, Dunames began the meeting in earnest, with the main item on the agenda being Meran Mechanics' role on Hijarna.

"I'm Dunames. As per our previous communications, you wish to get something built on Hijarna. First question, before your location is allocated inside the industrial park, Lyth: do your business on Hijarna involve quarrying Hijarna stones?"

Lyth stood on the desl offering a tiny hand to [member="Dunames Lopez"] in a greeting.
" first things first. this planet isnt overly freindly to fife as is." she admitted siting on a tiny seat.
" before we get boots on the ground i think we will nees atmosphire generators ect. " she admited

"Now that you mention atmosphere generators, we do not manufacture them, but we can get those shipped to here, provided you know who manufactures these"

The overall not-so-friendly locale, as [member="Lyth Meran"] told everybody in the prefabricated warehouse, was the reason why one of those who wanted to set up shop on Hijarna was hiring Star Tours to get hydroponic greenhousing in tow. Said equipment was being unloaded first, before any of the equipment for quarrying Hijarna stones or other industrial equipment in the cargo hold, and she knew everything else would be unloaded in time.

"I believe hydroponics and other stuff like water systems and whatnot would need to be explored: however, some of the other tenants of the industrial park have already ordered equipment to do these things"

Lyth offered some caff and doughnuts to [member="Dunames Lopez"] as she returned to the tiny chair.
" Indeed if we are planning to get living workers out here. having to wear breath masks all the time will get to be a nuciance
" she admitted. we can get some basic prefabs here to be quick so we can set up a worker town in no time"

"Atmosphere generators: the set we currently have onboard are going to be placed near the worker town"

The housing prefabs [member="Lyth Meran"] mentions may be enough to get the Hijarna industrial park started, but speaking of atmosphere generators, these items were unloaded right after the hydroponics farming equipment. While, of course, Dunames' Polydroxol physiology did help, she knew that not everyone could be like her. Because Dunames knew that the whole colony on Hijarna would not work unless all stakeholders could pull their component of the weight, especially not the stakeholders that had to supply vital items as collateral for the right to quarry Hijarna stones. And yet the hydroponic farm was being built in the distance, somewhat beyond the areas earmarked for the spaceport's right-of-way. That was something Dunames had to think about.

"You have to understand that we came here with a very, very limited amount of supplies, and that multiple trips will be required over several months, and years even, to finish the work. It's just that each stakeholder in the colony is expected to be pulling a given component of the proverbial weight: Star Tours provides the spaceport, you provide a worker village, another stakeholder provides the atmosphere generators and the sewage treatment, yet another one does the hydroponics... in exchange for providing the worker village, you are entitled to a segment of the Hijarna stone quarry commensurate to the size of the worker village"

Lyth smiled to [member="Dunames Lopez"] " Oh i am well aware of that. Coruscant wasn't built in a day after all. " she smiled.
" at the moment this is all i have with me." she indecated the prefab.
" No sense in rushing. so what do you plan if i may ask?"

"The Hijarna stones won't carry themselves off-world, and this is where Star Tours comes in: some transportation royalties are collected for each shipment of Hijarna stones being shipped off-world"

[member="Lyth Meran"] may or may not have realized that Star Tours is really just a middle man in industrial ventures requiring a colony to be set up. In effect, Hijarna was planned from the very start to be the site of quarrying operations not to exceed what is usually understood in a context of regulatory requirements, as limited-level of production, due to concerns about exhaustion of the quarries, which would lead to a tragedy of the commons, so the colony may as well remain relatively low-key, so they may need just a few more Maersk trips for the colony to be completed. Excavation work began for the hydroponic farming complex, somewhere near the spaceport, and the soil being unearthed will be used elsewhere on the planet.

"Star Tours' involvement was requested and even bid upon by several of the stakeholders of the colony. However, the level of production that will allow for sustainable operations would be limited at best so it might be best to keep the colony size limited"

any way regardless it was run like a mess it was still run as a small business while ballooning in to a larger one.
" Either way i'm in no condition to complain. saves one less headache. so i'll get a few trawlers oot here clear a 50 km square of land get a town set up. should take a week with prefabs and droids. "

So Meran Mechanics was more than simply a major stakeholder in this enterprise? 50 square kilometers was not inconsequential: it was the size of their plot of land, she thought, while paying close attention as to exactly where the 50 square kilometers allotted to [member="Lyth Meran"] and, by extension, Meran Mechanics, was. And, if the geological surveys were to be believed, there was a Hijarna stone quarry to be exploited there. Dunames thus draws up the charter that was to be the founding document of Hijarna. Also, officially, because Hijarna belonged to no one, then there could be little red tape but not completely devoid of it. She then summoned representatives of the main stakeholders of the colony so that the constitution regulating the governance of Hijarna would be decided. Everybody agreed to the right to clean air, water supplies and other necessities but there are other details that needed to be cleared up.

"Because Hijarma officially belongs to no one at this point, we would lay claim to Hijarna, which is to be governed by a council made up of one representative of each of the corporate stakeholders, one elected representative of each ward, and leadership of the council is to be voted on internally"

"Oh I never said anything about you holding Meran Mechanics' seat: it will be up to the others among Meran Mechanics to decide"

[member="Lyth Meran"] admitted herself that she did not have the skills to properly be playing a significant role on the colonial council, especially since the colonial council is mostly like a municipal council on most other planets that were at more advanced stages of colonization. However, Star Tours did not possess the expertise to mine Hijarna stones without the other stakeholders of the colony, and neither could it collect geological data, ostensibly collected by a stakeholder only interested in mining. She knew, however, that geological three-dimensional maps will, more often or not, only focus on one or two things - those things that are relevant to the one making said map.

"That being said, these geological data are incomplete: they only state what mineral deposits there are, how far and deep they extend, but no more than that. No data on aquifers: if you could collect data that could lead to aquifers, please do"

" Yeah we have geologists looking in to that. " Lyth admitted sheepishly.
" Acording to them we have a few underground water springs and Caves close by. " she braught up a data immmahe of the local area.

"Now I believe we have everything covered"

Coal? She always viewed it as a primitive fuel, and quite polluting if used as a fuel, but also to be used for artificial diamonds. Sure, natural diamonds, not unlike those mined on Arkania, were worth quite a bit but they often came with impurities, whereas impurities are much less present in the process leading to creating artificial diamonds from coal. Perhaps [member="Lyth Meran"] would instead think that the use for coal would be better-made for transmuting diamonds so that they can later be used in vibroblades to cut raw Hijarna stones. Meanwhile, behind them, the excavation of the permanent control tower's foundations was almost complete so that they could begin to pour the foundations for the permanent control tower. She knew that no spaceport would be complete without one, even if it was otherwise running solely on the prefabs already deployed. Star Tours had to supply the spaceport's sensor array as well as control tower equipment, including a tactical display, for this reason.
