High Risk Expectations

[member="Kal Kandossii"]

She looked at him curiously now, "You would want to go there?" But now his other question did she have kin she didn't know she half laughed, "I don't know if I have any family, blood family I guess I never thought about that part" She had not thought about it at all could she have brothers and sisters? How would she find out?

"Is there a way to find out?" she wiggled her finger, "you know about having blood family?"

"Where there's a will there's a way. You'd be surprised at the records you can find if you are determined enough, stubborn enough, and lucky enough. And credits grease the wheels darling. Just think of it like a bounty. You slice records, follow the money trail, interrogate witness, coerce the local law, and if all else fails find a kiffar to follow the memories. Nothing is ever truly lost or hidden."

He smirked at her with a wink. "And sure, I've been needing a vacation and I been to worse planets with worse company. But you're buying the beer."[member="Arla Balor"]

"You assume I'm buying the beer" She thought about it though she could go home again, home..why did she still call it that Mandalore was home. So many complications. "So I need someone who can look at records without anyone knowing, but you would think that info would be there for everyone" She took a sip of her drink even as she thought about what it was she could do.

interrogation. Sure..why not. "I never asked anyone but do we have something here that could identify them my parents..I mean a database of mandalorians?" Was there such a thing, and if there was why had she not been to it before.

Smirking at her he set his mug on the bar taking it with two fingers to get the bartender's attention. The man came over and topped off the mug. Picking it up he winked as Arla. "Aren't I worth a few beers?" He have her a embellished frown before taking a drink.

Setting down again he popped his neck from side to side while he thought. "Most clans keep a roster of members, family, and in that roster is usually names, identity chips, records of bounties collected and jobs done .... even DNA sequences. You never know when things like a DNA sequence can come in handy. As for adoption, all it takes are a few words to make it binding but many mandos like having records of things like that. I vaguely recall there being a record hall or two on Concord so I would assume there would be one in Keldabe."

He took another drink as he studied Arla. "I like you, you have spirit. If i can help any anyway I will. And like I said I have some down time coming to me. As long as you keep me in beer." He smirked at her again as he raised his mug in a toast.

"I wonder if there is a place like that here, I would like to know their names at least, then I can go back to Tatooine and see if anyone remembers their names" She felt excited like there was some hope. Could she find the answers, and finally feel like she belonged.

Could there be a way to help her feel complete, like a whole person instead of this person with a hole that could not be filled.

"I don't know if you're worth a bunch of beers" she stopped he said he liked her spirit, she hadn't realized she had spirit. "Your eyes will turn yellow you drink that much beer" She tried to smile now. It was awkward but she tried.

"Oh I'm worth the ale darlin'." He smirked again as he took another drink and then set the mug down. He had caught her half smile and wondered if the chance of knowing who her parents really were was enough to do that. "You keep smiling like that and we'll have to find all the answers you want."

Going back to drumming lightly on the surface where they sat he cocked his head to the side. "Shouldn't be too hard track down that building. And if push comes to shove you may have to backtrack to the clan settlement for more precise records. But it shouldn't be impossible, just difficult." Still drumming lightly with his fingers he watched her.

"You want to follow up on this alone or with someone else, it's all good. But if you want some company as you look this stuff us, I'm cool with that too. I'll make sure my eyes are clear." One of his green eyes winked as he smirked while he leaned back.

Should she have him along? She knew she tended to form bonds to people that then well didn't realize and they left her. Just like. Arla closed her eyes what to do, think clearly. She wasn't sure what to do at the moment.

"Um, I don't know much about this database, and seeing that you do know maybe you could help me with it" It only made sense it was his suggestion, and she really didn't know a lot about looking for records. Strange how no one had told her sooner.

"What if I was born somewhere else, would that place still have a record?" Could she be born anywhere and it still recorded?

"Well there is no way to find out but to look right?" Tapping on his forearm plate he pulled up the location of the records hall and the direction. Gripping his mug he tilted it up and drained the last of the beer up and down his gullet. Sliding his empty mug away he pushed up and stood to smirk at Arla.

"The tab's on you for that save. Now we ready to go and try to find some answers or you need to go to the little girl's room first?" He winked at her as he shifted the gunbelt around his waist and reset it so that it would ride more comfortably. He extendd his arm to the door in an exaggerated move.

Arla was beginning to wonder if Kal needed his eyes examined for some reason he kept blinking, or winking with one eye it was odd. She didn't really understand the gesture of a wink, like was it yeah wink wink nudge nudge you know what I mean, or wink wink you got it right she just wasn't sure what it was. She nodded, "yes this one's on me for the rescue, but you're on your own for a few more of these"

Could she really find these answers? Was it possible? She slowly pushed herself up, "No I don't right now maybe later" She shook her head again he was so odd at times. She tried to relax but perhaps she was really getting closer now. She headed towards the door.

"I don't know many people like you, and its at times hard for me to know how to act around you" She could be honest about it, afterall she really wasn't sure of a great deal of things her ancestry being one of them.

Pushing the door open with a boot he stepped out into the bright sunlight while squinting against the light and looking over his shoulder. There aren't anyone like me." Whistling a jaunty tune he stepped out into the street and turned. "This way to the hall of records and hopefully to your answers." Beginning the short walk he paused as three youth ran by shouting and waving sticks around at each other. None of them were over the age of seven and yet each wore blades on their belts.

Smirking Kal shook his head. "Kids." As they continued on he glanced over at her. "So you must be good with kids. I hear you have an interesting sister that keeps getting into trouble. Does the Ordo clan adopt all the strays, or just the fun ones?" They were slowly entering one of the street markets that littered the streets of Keldabe.

"You mean Ginnie, yeah she's quite the warrior and from what I know she's into everything, and if there's a skirmish, war, battle, anything that says come start a fire she's on it and in up to her neck" Arla laughed yes the youngest Ordo was most definitely a handful.

"I only know Ginnie so I don't know if that makes me good with kids, it makes me good with [member="Ginnie Ordo"]" He had asked about [member="Ordo"], "Buir he adopts those that need it, sometimes they just need to belong he gave that to everyone." It just hadn't helped her as much as she thought it would. But now would the information they were getting ready to look into would it change things. Or would it be worse..

"I'm nervous" she admitted, would he understand nervous? Did he understand all of what she was feeling?

Easing through the busy market with peddlers attempting to push their wares Kal just gave a small smirk and moved on as he listened to Arla speak. "That sounds like short stuff. She is a bit of a fire cracker. Gods forbid in half a dozen years what she will be. Might be saluting her as Mand'alor. My uncle says she has those aspirations and, if they don't get her killed first, it just might happen."

Passing a man selling knives he paused momentarily to examine several. "You make these?" The man nodded slowly. Kal wrote down a string of numbers and handed it over to the man with a credit chip before collecting the knife he had purchased. Walking away he slid the knife up beneath his belt.

"Sounds to me your buir is trying to give his strays a sense of purpose, a reason for continuing. My uncle used to tel me that being nervous was the body's way of getting yourself prepared. Conflict, war, arguments, a new task, love, doesn't matter. Being nervous is a warning system for the unknown. Get's your adrenaline going, sharpens your senses, ensures you are physically at your peak."

They began easing from the market and straight ahead was the squat building of the records of the clans.

"I don't know my adrenaline going could be a dangerous thing, you over react rather than think it through" She shrugged her shoulders, she thought about [member="Ordo"], she still wasn't sure how to react to everything that had happened but.."You're probably right Kal he wanted us to feel safe so that we could move forward"

Arla had just never moved forward.

Arla barely paid attention to the booths her mind was on the hall, and what it could tell her. She felt her heart quicken when it finally came into view. How close they were to an answer..she could almost run up the steps but tried to refrain from looking too eager.

She felt her world trying to expand and it might with the look at a single record.
